Yes, I LOVE Trainspotting & Shallow Grave & I LOVE this movie. This movie showed me that Cameron Diaz was cool. Yes, I still envy her. Ah, sexy Ewan. Review: Cameron Diaz and Ewan McGregor light up the screen in the twisted romantic comedy "A Life Less Ordinary." McGregor plays Robert, who is an employee at Celene (Diaz's) father's company. Upon learning that the company has replaced him with a robotical cleaning staff, McGregor kidnaps Diaz and the tale begins. A great comedy with a sick sense of humor. A must for fans of both Diaz and McGregor!

Summary: A strange, delicious delight!
Review: I just saw this movie for the first time tonight, and I would highly recommend it to anybody who enjoys quirky, strange films in the vein of "Pulp Fiction," "Raising Arizona," "Home Fries," "Dogma," "Run, Lola, Run" "Nurse Betty" and "Drowning Mona." It is a delicious and dark black comedy that is definitely not for all tastes, but for those special people with the right sense of humor, it is a real treat. The plot is completely original and insane, with traces of Frank Capra. It is basically about a pair of angels who, in order to be allowed back in heaven, must get a kidnapper and his victim to fall in love. Sound strange? Well, it definitely is. It is also by turns weird, bizarre, hilarious, disturbing, and just plain fun. Ewan McGregor and Cameron Diaz light up the screen and have amazing chemistry. For fans of either of these actors, this movie cannot be missed. There is also some quirky casting with the angels, who are played by Holly Hunter and Delroy Lindo. The question the viewer ponders throughout the film are "Are the angels good or bad?" I think they're misguided, personally. But you watch the film and decide for yourself! And don't turn off the film once the credits start...It has one of the strangest, funniest and coolest endings I've seen in any film, that happens during the ending credits. P.S. If you're squeamish, there's one scene you might wanna hide your eyes concerning a bullet removal from a leg. Other than that, it's totally watchable.

Review: I thought I was sick of romantic comedies...until I saw this movie. "A Life Less Ordinary" (brought to you by the crew who did "Trainspotting" and "Shallow Grave) is a hilarious film about a guy (sexy Ewan McGregor) who loses his job to a robot, and decides to do something about it. He kidnaps his former boss' daughter (Cameron Diaz), who ends up taking over the operation. Two angels then step in to unite the couple romantically, and then end result is often violent, always funny, chaos. The film had great comic timing and the two leads were wonderful. The movie actually pulled off a few dramtic scenes without appearing cheesy or tacked-on. The plot sometimes became confusing and the ending was a little weird but all-in-all, the film was incredible. "A Life Less Ordinary" is a good date film, but it's fun to watch with your buds or if you've just been dumped and I LOVED IT.

Review: By far one of my favorite ewan flicks. It's something my friends and I always pull out at parties and quote amongst ourselves. Overall it's just an amazingly fun, cute, quirky movie and is definetely worth a few dozen watches!

Summary: Fun, Fun!!
Review: What was this????? After two masterpieces, "Shallow Grave" and "Trainspotting", Danny Boyle directed this offbeat road movie about a awkward shy guy (Ewan McGregor) who kidnaps his boss`s arrogant daughter (Cameron Diaz) and they soon begin a wacky trip together. Add a couple of angels (Holly Hunter and Delroy Lino) whose job it to make the youngsters fall in love with each other. The premise is original and witty enough, but unfortunately the movie is too uneven, combining chase sequences, karaoke dances, romantic comedy elements, dark humor and some gore that don`t mix very well. It has its funny moments and touching scenes, even if those seem somewhat lost in the postmodernist plot that`s weird just because. Problem is, despite some style, decent acting (Diaz is alright, McGregor is great and hilarious) and a hip soundtrack, this cinematic experience feels empty and lacks a point. I won`t even get into the over-the-top ending (but in this movie anything is possible anyway). And I could live without those angels, too. Well, after the excellent "Trainspotting", this one really is disappointing, though it`s watchable as an average, not-too-good-not-terrible popcorn movie. Despite the witty ideas, the final result is just ordinary.

Review: As close to magical realism as American cinema can get....a fairly flawless film. One of Ewan's most endearing (i.e. bumbling) roles.
