Rating: Summary: A Classic Review: I have made this movie one of the few I will ever watch more then 2 times. I have watched it over and over again since the Video Tape was released. I even saw it twice in the Theatres. My wife and I enjoy this movie so much that we often try to make each other laugh by using quotes from the movie in real life situations. We've found that there are very few situations that don't lend themselves to a quote from this movie. "Crumble some crackers in your soup, it will absorb the grease."

Rating: Summary: The Bay of Pigs Review: Who can forget these classic scenes?: "To Vince, Well at least we tried. Signed John F. Kennedy." "All they had was Hustler in Spanish.....El Hustlero." ".....via the General Garlicimo Highway.....yes, yes sir, it's a very fitting tribute to you sir. Yes, yes, much better than a bridge." And what can only be described as the funniest scene filmed in the 1970's: The pre-takeoff safety demonstration at the Lodi, NJ Executive Airport, in Mandarin. What are they waiting for to release this on DVD?
Rating: Summary: Funniest film I've ever watched Review: After watching this film at least 3 dozen times, my wife and I find something new to laugh about with each viewing. Falk and Arkin complement each other to keep you constantly chuckling, laughing out loud or crying from laughing so hard. See the film and you'll also remember one line after another that will make you smile - "Driver, we'll be going on now.", "Flames, my car has flames!", "You never take an early lunch?". Am anxious to get a DVD copy before we wear out the VHS.
Rating: Summary: The first certifed crazy person's comedy Review: This comedy has everything a comedy should have. It has mayham, some tongue in cheek, action, good acting in the two main roles and a breakneak pace. It's directed by Arthur Hiller who always puts out worthy efforts.Peter Falk play an ex C.I.A. operative who has a son who is going to marry Arkin's daughter When they met Falk decides to yous father (Arkin) to help him with some undercover stuff which just happens to be very dangerous but Arkin goes along for the rollercoaster ride just so he can get Falk of his back and get back to his dentist practice. This is one of those films you can just sit down and enjoy what it has to offer it's got a couple car chase, foot chase, a plain , shooting in the middle of new york crazy dialogue and if you like the pairing between Falk and Arkin like I do than John Cassavettes Big Trouble is another great film starring the two main leads.
Rating: Summary: One of the funniest movies ever....A must have. Review: This is one of those movies that you will laugh until your sides hurt. I remember the first time seeing this movie with my parents and there was not a dry eye in my house. We laughed so hard the tears were rolling down our faces. Alan Arkin is fantastic! His facial expressions are priceless. This is the movie to pop in the VCR when you need a major laugh!
Rating: Summary: Wish I could give it 10 stars!!! Review: One of the all-time funniest. Just too many great lines and scenes to mention, but my favorites are the poor lady in the destist's chair "Mrs Adleman can't bite down!" The reaction of Arkin after his visit to the funky car wash "I have FLAMES on my car!" The tse-tse fly story is priceless. I have to stop typing because I'm starting to laugh just THINKING about this movie. Everyone see it!!!
Rating: Summary: More people need to know about this film... Review: ...because it's the finest comedy ever created. Arkin and Falk are magic together, and the pitch-perfect script produced some of the funniest moments ever laid down on celluloid. As another reviewer mentioned, there's the airplane scene - featuring safety instructions in Manrdarin - that gives me uncontrollable giggles even as I write this review. I guarantee you'll watch this movie and find the occasion (or invent one) to yell "Serpentine, Shelley! Serpentine!" over the following days. If you've never seen this classic, I urge you to rent or buy it immediately.
Rating: Summary: five stars are not enough Review: All respect to Mel Brooks, early Woody Allen, Blake Edwards and any other brilliant filmmaker who has turned their talents to creating the ultimate comedy...they all must take a back seat to this film. I've never experienced such a perfect merging of screenplay, characterization and direction. Arkin and Falk have a chemistry and timing that simply must be seen to be believed. I've been a movie buff for a long time, but I must admit that totally missed this when it came out. In fact, it was running one night on a cable station in the mid 80s when I first saw it. I was visiting my parents, and on it came. I had just stopped in to say hello, but after the first 10 minutes I knew I wasn't going anywhere. I'll never forget sitting next to my father, who was in his seventies at the time, hearing him cracking up. He had a great laugh, a deep, full laugh, and I'd never in my life heard such pure joy come out of my father, who was a serious and subdued man. It may sound strange, but I felt closer to my father after watching this movie with. Sharing such a joyful experience with him will always be a very cherished memory. Do yourself a favor. Find someone you love. Doesn't need to be romantic love, just someone who really counts in your life. Watch this movie with them. If it doesn't become a special memory, email me and complain.
