Review: I actually came up with the idea of over-dubbing to create a movie like this two years ago. Oh well, Odekerk beat me to it.
Anyway, this movie is very offbeat, so most will not appreciate it. I liken its creativity to the Mystery Science Theater series. Pick it up if your sense of humor tends to go against the grain. Have a great day!

Summary: Okay funny movie, but the DVD has some nice features
Review: I'll admit that I didn't like Kung Pow: Enter The Fist as much as most people did, but the special features included on the DVD are good. It was interesting to see the so-called "undubbed" version of the movie (Steve Oedekerk says some really weird phrases) and the "making-of" featurette. The commentary during the movie features Steve's wife calling on a cell phone (!) which I thought was funny.
Incidentally, Kung Pow Enter The Fist was made two years ago and struggled to find a film company willing to distribute it. The movie was met with a lot of bad reviews, and most film critics like Roger Ebert did not even bother giving it a review (I think Ebert would've rated this movie 1/2 stars or no stars at all, but he didn't want to waste his time)
Is the DVD worth the [money] ? Well, I purchased it because I wanted to see the movie on my laptop computer. The movie looks much better on my computer than it did in the theater. It's up to you to decide if you want to spend the money for it.

Summary: So stupid, and very very funny
Review: First off, let me say that I really like it when modern fancy digital trickery is used for an entirely stupid and silly purpose. Such is the case in "Kung Pow: Enter The Fist". It's clear that Steve Oedekerk and crew prided themselves on this movie making little or no sense at all. Oedekerk had himself digitally inserted into dozens of existing scenes from other older movies simply because he could and it looked ridiculous. It made for a refreshing and funny experience. Now, for the DVD of this film: Nice selection of extras, delete scenes, commentary and the like. But the best part is they were able to offer the viewer something totally unique to this silly little film: The original audio tracks from the 1970's kung-fu movies they "borrowed". This track includes Oedekerk's original dialogue(which he naturally replaced later with his own selection of silly voices for the dialogue). The "original" recordings he made had him saying utter nonsense, thus allowing the dub over later to look like an authentic kung-fu movie. Simple yet quite effective. Another gem on there is the sixth "English" track. I use it in quotes because this track is just someone reading the dialogue with a British accent! This is just a great example of some movie makers who were just out to have some fun. I can think of nothing I'd rather see more of than that.

Summary: Dumb, stupid, but HILARIOUS!
Review: After seeing the preview for this movie, I promised myself "I will not rent or pay money to view this movie" but I broke that promise, rented it and sat through it and laughed so hard! Am I the only one that noticed how horrible the dubbing was? Was that the intention of the director or was that a DVD mistake? What's cool and funny is the alternate audio tracks, one is the original Tiger Cranes and Fists track which features Odekerk's voice for his character only. One question: Was that him doing all the voices for the other characters? Because it sounds like the same actors that did the voices for "Thumb Wars" (another great Odekerk classic!) I loved this movie and will add it to my collection. Also, please buy all the Thumb movies with this movie and you will see comedy at its best! Not for people who didn't like "Dumb and Dumber"!

Summary: very funny
Review: One of the funniest parodies I've ever seen. The dubbing is hilarious. "If you've got an [butt], I will kick it!" "Gentlemen, from now on I demand that you refer to me as Betty." "I apologize for him. We trained him wrong on purpose, as a joke." The guy with the squeaky shoes and the big nipples is my favorite. I'd say anybody who generally loves Ben Stiller and Tom Green movies will enjoy this, since they're my two favorite comedians. There's also a lot of Mystery Science Theater 3000 influence in KP. I'll definitely be getting KP on DVD, along with everything Ben Stiller is in. Feel free to visit my wishlist and buy me anything on it!

Summary: Neat special effects in a silly kung fu spoof
Review: When I went to see Kung Pow, I didn't know that it took scenes from a classic kung fu movie, Savage Killers, aka Tiger and Crane Fists, and inserted writer/dubber/director Steve Oedekerk (of Thumb Wars fame) as the main character, with new scenes spliced in. They did such a great job that I didn't even realize till the shots at the end of how it was made that the female lead was from the original movie, and not a new character. The special effects were all a kick in the pants, if you'll forgive me, especially the Matrix-style fight with the cow. Why a cow? I dunno, but it's pretty funny and very well done. I'm looking forward to the DVD to see if there are any "making of" extras. Apart from the well-executed premise and effects, Kung Pow! is a great choice for anybody who digs the type of spoof humor in Scary Movie and Airplane. I'm looking forward to the DVD to see if there are any "making of" extras.

Summary: Laugh fest.
Review: I never in my life though that I would like this movie after seeing the preview. I have about 40 DVDs at home and this movie will be the first comedy I buy on DVD. You have to understand the goal of the director to know how to take the movie. Anyone saying that the movie is not good and that the preview has all the good jokes probably has not seen the movie.
I though the preview was showing the only parts of the movie that are NOT good. For example the cow scene was really bad. Please at least rent it.

Review: Oh my gosh! This was the greatest and funniest movie ever created! Even though it was trememdously stupid, it did it with humor. Better than "Dumb and Dumber", or any other comedy movie out there. Definitely a movie to add to your DVD or VHS collection. Don't miss this movie!

Summary: My sides are hurting.....
Review: Take a really bad 70s kung-fu film, add some new footage, dub some really corny dialogue, and what do you get? This movie. Director and lead actor Steve Oedekerk brings us this slapstick comedy that is meant to be nothing more than side-splitting fun. From the beginning to the end you will be doubled over in pain from lauging so hard. Steve Oedekerk plays the Chosen One (yes, that's his name). As a child he saw his parents murdered at the hands of Master Pain (if the character's names are making you groan, just wait until you watch it). Now that the Chosen One is an adult, he sets out to seek revenge for his parents. The above is all the plot line you really need to know. Everything else that happens during the movie is only meant to make you laugh (or, as in a few scenes, grate on your nerves). One of the funniest scenes is an added one that pokes fun at the movie "The Matrix" in which the Chosen One comes up against a kung-fu, milk-squirting cow. This movie is clearly not made for everyone. It is intended for people who like sight gags and slapstick comedy (not to mention anyone who can't stand those awlful 70s kung-fu movies). If you fall into this group, you will enjoy this movie for the only thing it was intended to be: funny.
