Summary: Rumble in Harlem
Review: This is a really fun martial arts movie. Mix rapping ganstas with fan clubs who chant their names (Sho'nuff) with quiet peaceful kung fu students ("Bruce" Leroy Green), throw in a bit of 80's hair and disco in Harlem and you have a The Last Dragon.

Leroy Green is on a quest to complete his training. His master sends him out to find the secret that will let him use "The Glow" (including The Glow theme song). His destiny intersects with that of Laura Charles, a local Dance Fever host, and Sho'nuff who just doesn't dig this cat. Laura is mixed up with Eddie Arkanian, a local slimeball trying to make it big time pushing his loser talent (a boxer who loses and a goofy Cyndi Lauper ripoff). Oh, and Leroy's brother who reminds me of Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes.

Anyway, the fights are pretty decent and the music is actually catchy. I like the modern day setting in New York without the bad acting of Van Damme. The actors in this movie do a good job.

This movie is worth it just for seeing Sho'nuff's crazy costumes, but you will probably enjoy the whole thing.

Summary: Wonderfully Entertaining- Still!
Review: This movie is fifteen years old and is still one of the best movies I have ever seen and is a favorite in our house. We have very animated children in our family, and one of their favorites to role play from their childhood is Berry Gordys The Last Dragon. They never forgot that experience. Still pleasing the children that were just babys at the time this movie was released, you can't go wrong. It's probably not for really small children as it has some violent content and language. But I have to say, I never get tired of watching it.

Summary: Should have made part II
Review: I have watched this movie over twenty times, and I am still enjoying it. I was hoping for a part II. Berry Gordy should do more movies!!

Summary: Hip Hop Martial Arts
Review: I wonder whatever happened to Taimak, the star of this film? One of the reasons to see it is him, because he's extremely easy on the eyes. This movie is a silly but pleasant timewaster with action and romance, and 1980's urban contemporary music. You also have to see the martial arts master "Sho-Nuff" to believe!

Summary: A cult classic with an honest rating
Review: Its really not that good of a movie. Dont get me wrong. I love this movie and bought it as soon as I found it. But it is very poorly acted, scripted, and even the kung fu isnt that memorable. It is really a B 80's movie. However, it is a classic cult movie by any standard, and for that it already rates high in my book. The tributes and references to Bruse Lee movies are hilarious. Its one you should get if you love campy 80's movies, or kung-fu and want that american experience.

Summary: A Classic
Review: I LOVED this movie back in the 80's when I saw it. I was a little apprehensive before I bought the DVD, wondering "Am I gonna like it as much as I did back then?" Man, I still have the soundtrack to this movie. So, it is with great enthusiasm, that I tell you that the DVD is OUTSTANDING! It was just as entertaining as it was back then. AHH, Finally, Sho-Nuff, Leroy, Eddie Arcadian, they're all there in digital quality. If you've not seen this movie, seriously, it's great. It's one of the truly underrated movies of its time. It's funny, but with great action scenes. If you're a fan of the 80's, this one's for you. This has been a cult favorite for a long time, I'm so glad to see that they brought it out again. My wife even enjoyed it, and that says a lot. The price is great and well worth it. So sit back, get a bowl of popcorn and enjoy.

Summary: The Master Doesn't See No One, Especially No Jive Coolies
Review: This Moive Is Tight, But The More And More I See It, I Realize It Needs Alittle Bit More Fighting In It. The Music Is GREAT, Everytime I Watch It When The Glow Song Comes On, I Get Goose Bumps!!

Summary: The Legendary Bruce Leroy
Review: Right up front I have to admit that I've always had a soft spot for this movie. I saw it at least 10 times in the theater (by comparison, I saw Star wars twice, fifteen years apart).
This is a classic B movie. There's not a lot of explanation, you just take it as it comes. Taimak is wonderful as the serious Leroy Green who seeks only enlightenment. In his way are the wonderfully evil Sho Nuf, the self-proclaimed shogun of Harlem and Eddy Arcadian, video game king.
The story progresses briskly and with enough surprises to keep you interested. The climactic fight is great (if a little predictable) as is the ending. I can't believe it took this long to bring it to DVD!

Summary: The Best of the Best
Review: This is absolutely my favorite movie of all times. Most "old" movies have sub-standard acting, but this movie stands out (with only a few minor exceptions). Without a doubt the script was well before its time. This is one of those movies that I always enjoy watching and can practically recite. I would encourage viewers to take another look at this classic. Parents should take this word or warning: there is a lot of profanity used in this movie, be advised before allowing young children to watch.

Summary: Fondest Memory of Vanity 6
Review: I thought it was a really cute movie with all the spoofs within the movie. Also, I thought it was cool how Sho-nuff was...too bad he was defeated in the end.
