Summary: Owen Wilson Saves
Review: Owen Wilson provided the only comedic instance for me. Although I have to admit, Ben Stiller is staying within his realm of playing a loser who becomes the butt of most jokes. This movie just never made it off of the ground for me. Ben Stiller's humor is like the Three Stooges on Valium. This movie is for those with a limited sense of humor. I think people like Ben Stiller should be judged on a movie by movie basis, what ever happened to supply and demand? These producers need to start reading these scripts more thoroughly. This movie wouldn't be funny even if the entire theater was stoned!

Summary: Meet Your Worst Nightmare
Review: The success of "Meet the Parents" lies in it's basic premise that every guy's basic fear is meeting his sweetheart's parents. The film takes this conceit to the next level by having your potential father-in-law be a profiler for the CIA. The film contains alot of amusing setpieces and slapstick. Ultimately the heart of the film is the comic chemistry between stars Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro. Stiller is one of the great comic forces working in films today and DeNiro, late in his career, is developing into a deft comedian. Owen Wilson, as Stiller's fiance's former boyfriend, delivers an amusing cameo here.

Summary: Funny, but not Stiller's best...
Review: This is not the place to go if you discovered Ben Stiller in "There's Something About Mary" and think all his films are gonna be as funny as that. Go with something like "Zoolander," probably his best film to date. While this film is good, it belongs somewhere at the bottom of a "Ben Stiller's Best" list. Don't get me wrong, I'm judging him on a pretty hard scale since most of his work that I've seen so far rates pretty high with me, such as Mystery Men and the hilarious movie Heavy Weights, so I'm not at all saying this is not entertaining. This is a genuinely funny movie, but it's slow and the laughs are spaced out a bit and it's more like "I've been there" humor, not the totally outrageous stuff we saw in Something About Mary. This comedy is about an average guy having to deal with meeting the parents of his fiance. It's a bit awkward, as the experience itself would be, and Ben plays it well, but the humor is best if you can relate to it. Otherwise you may not get much out of it. There's not a lot of off the wall stuff, and De Niro, who in my opinion does not have a very long list of good movies (I don't know why he gets so much credit from reviewers, but then I never watch that Mafia stuff), doesn't really trigger a lot of laughs either. It's a good, funny little movie, but that's about it. Would I buy it? Probably. If and when I'm ever in that situation I'll probably succumb to the impulse to purchase it, and I'm sure that I'll find it even funnier then, but right now I'd prefer watching the Cable Guy. Draw your own conclusion from that, but keep in mind that I liked the Cable Guy more than most people did.

Summary: Great movie.
Review: This movie is funny, romantic and very suspenseful, but...something is missing. I think what's missing is a different performance by Stiller. In this movie you are able to see Stiller's stereotype performance. Anyway, the best performance for me is De Niro's. He is one of my favorite actors of all time. I can't wait in watching "Meet The Fockers" !!!!!!

Summary: Oh no, no, no, no, no, it's not very good. Way over rated.
Review: This movie is not funny, just dumb. Is saying "focker" over and over and over again really that funny? I'm sorry, folks, but NO, it's just not all that funny, and this is the same dull plot that we've seen over and over again in the movies and on tv. Not recommended.

Summary: No redeeming quality...
Review: When I saw this movie the first time, I saw no humor. However, I was subjected to this film four more times that week, due to some unusual circumstances, and it was only then did I truly come to despise it.

The story is Ben Stiller meets girl. They fall in love, and then Stiller has to meet her parents. The humor is reliant on the fact that people find it humorous that the hopeful husband-to-be always gets everything wrong. However, it's just not funny. DeNiro, although playing an interesting new character as father of the bride, does not add to this, already mess of a film.

Stiller can be funny, but bathroom humor and slapstick can only go so far. If that's you're thing, then you'll like it, otherwise just stay away.

(The only good thing is that the sequel is ok, but that's a different review.)
