Rating: Summary: Fantastic!!! Review: Oh my God! What was up with most people in the eighties? How could this have been a flop movie? And Xanadu!? I think this is a really good movie, i have had it not even a day, and i have watched it 5 and a half times and know most of the words! I love Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta together, i think they are brilliant, they work so well together. I reccomend this to any Olivia fan (and probably 2 john fans too!). It is funny, frightening (maybe not to grown ups but it was for me!), happy, sad, and Brando the cat is so cute!! (olivia's cat in the movie!) I laughed, cried (i hate seeing olivia cry!) and i hid behind the cushion! A great movie! OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN IS AMAZING!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Two of a Kind.......avoid at all costs!! Review: Ok it was great to see the two main stars reunited, and i was very excited to learn this. But when i saw this movie in the theatre in 1983 i was very dissapointed indeed. This movie lacks everything a movie needs: good direction, good acting and a decent plot. The only thing that saves this low budget little flick is its tacky soundtrack of one hit wonders that made it in the charts for only a brief period of time.Unless you are die hard John Travolta and/or Olivia Newton-John fans then you must avoid this at all costs!!!!!!! Its simply terrible!!Lucinda
Rating: Summary: This Movie Proves Olivia Can't Act Review: Olivia should never had made this movie because people really thought she could act. This movie proves she can't. She can't even say one line right. John Travolta is too good of an actor for her. The plot was stupid. Why would angels pick these 2 people as a good reason why the world should be saved? They are a good reason why it shouldn't be saved. Stupid and not even entertaining. Grease was stupid but at least it was somewhat entertaining. Bad plot, bad script, terrible acting by Newton-john. Waste of time and money.
Rating: Summary: A tragedy Review: This film effectively ended Olivia Newton-John's film career which was a great pity. As Xanadu showed, she could dance, and was a fine actress. Unfortunately, she choose this turkey and, even though she is excellent and the music is fine, nothing can save it. A rotten script. Ghastly direction. And Travolta, still in his Vinnie Barbarino stage, just kills whatever pleasure there is to be found. Grease aside, Newton-John and Travolta were never meant to be a team. Olivia tends to dominate any scene she is in and any attention paid to her male lead is just an annoying distraction. And Travolta is an annoying distraction standing next to a fire hydrant. This might have worked better as, and probably should have been, a musical. The musical numbers would have entailed trimming some of the awful script and it would have helped immeasurably. Ultimately, it was Olivia Newton-John's misfortune to become a star just when the film musical was dying. Xanadu showed what a wonderful career she could have had in the sixties or fifties. Ah but that is the tragedy of our culture. We are too busy praising gore and obscene language to ever try and reach beyond the gutter. Thus perishes all great beauty.
Rating: Summary: AN 80'S CLASSIC!!!!! Review: THIS IS A GOOD MOVIE I WOULD RECCOMEND ANY JOHN TRAVOLTA OR ONJ FAN TO BUY THIS MOVIE. I REALLY LOVED THIS MOVIE. I LIKE THE WHOLE MOVIE AND IT IS GREAT. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IT WASN'T SUCCESSFUL AT THE MOVIES. THIS IS CLASSIC OLIVIA AND JOHN.
Rating: Summary: Olivia is as wonderful as ever Review: This movie was really enjoyable. I liked seing Olivia and John back together again, and I love seeing Olivia in this movie. This one was not as good as Grease, but what movie is? The only thing I disliked about the movie was the plot. I thought that some of the ways they presented God and the angels in the show was a little strange, but beyond that it was pretty enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: Olivia....what were you thinking Review: This was the bomb that pretty much ended Olivia's mainstream popularity....the music is fine and the only thing good to come out of this movie...if it weren't for Olivia and her music..this movie would be a total loss...Olivia's acting was fine....John Travolta is annoying in this movie....(loved him in Grease)....
Rating: Summary: A cute, clever little movie about getting a second chance! Review: Two of a Kind is an amazing movie that reunites Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta (who starred in Grease together). God has had just about enough of the human's attitude so he will destroy the planet very soon. It is up to a struggling inventor (John Travolta) and a bank teller (Olivia Newton-John), both with very amateur criminal minds, to save the world. Most criticts say this movie is really trashy. My suggestion for people who buy this movie is to enjoy the movie for what it really is - not what the criticts say about it! If you buy TWO OF A KIND you will LOVE it!
Rating: Summary: Have to have an open mind about it Review: Well, I admit, hearing Olivia Newton-John swear for the first time made me uncomfortable, but aside from that, the movie was not terrible. Olivia is really a great actress! She and John Travolta really did well together in this film. This movie really has a great soundtrack, too.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT Review: What I thought about this movie was that it was funny and romantic. The storyline could have had been a bit better without using angels and God and using something else but, except for that, the movie was great. It is nice to see the amazing actor John Travolta and wonderful singer Olivia Newton-John do another movie together. This is what I think.
