Summary: Scottish depicted reality of addiction and life's struggle
Review: This is frankly one of the most amazing films I've ever seen. Too many people write off this picture because of the harsh content, but if you get past the non-naiveness of the film, there are some true life lessons to be learned. It's documentation of addicition is neither biased towards the pain or pleasure of it, so no this film doesn't advocate any kind of drug use. It does wow you with the surrealistic effects and awesome soundtrack with one of the most beautifully written movies screenplays ever. The constant flow of the plot and the struggles of Renton and company are just awe-inspiring. If you like the film, I reccomend the book. It's written in scottish toungue and makes the dialect even more interesting. Deserves more acclaim. One of my personal favorites of all time. Just too deep not to like.

Review: Sons & daughters of Alexander Trocchi, rejoice! Although I couldn't quite understand Robert Carlyle, his performance as a Scottish Joe Pesci violence-for-the-sake-of-violence Francis Begbie was high-voltage. I plan to get the book now. I've seen the film 6 times, and it's always the same - f***in' bloody great!!

Summary: WOW
Review: This is one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen. It's so poetic about the whole drug thing and it's like a peak into the mind of a drugy. It's a little hard to understand what there saying so you might want to find a website that has the movie script. I was enchanted by the way it was shot, like when he ODS and he slips into the carpet, and the whole toilet scence, it exspressed the feeling of the movie completly! The soundtrack was amazing too it fit's every part. Psst...parents generale don't like this movie, I know mine didn't, but that's no reason to write it off. SEE THIS MOVIE + Ewan McGregor's a great actor:)

Summary: great, but not for the easily offended
Review: This movie was weird--disturbing but you end up really liking some of the characters--it's not a movie where everyone is disgusting and awful and you don't care what happens to the characters (that's how I felt about A Clockwork Orange). Despite the fact that Ewan McGregor is a heroin addict, and does some things not entirely moral, there is a sweetness to him that makes him endearing. This is an over-the-top movie that will blow your mind and leave you drained, make you laugh at things you wouldn't ordinarily think were funny, etc.

Summary: The video god of grossness!!!
Review: Ewan Mcgregors's best movie so far! Better than his other movies, potraying an addict going strait is his genre! Plus the remarkable performance of jonny lee miller as "sickboy", a distraught fellow who's a conman and such.

Summary: Takes you by surprise and draws you in...
Review: I have to say that Trainspotting is a very intelligent and visually stunning film which beautifully (if that's the right word...) depicts the lives of heroin addicts. Some may find certain scenes too much, but if you are looking for truth on screen... this is where to find it. A worthy successor to Shallow Grave for both Danny Boyle and Ewan McGregor!

Summary: This movie really shows what the life of a drug-user is like
Review: I love this film, although I wouldn't recommend it to those who are squeamish. It's a hardcore look at an addiction that is very real. A lot of crazy things happen throughout it and it's got very few dull moments. I think it's great.

Summary: Wow!
Review: I've seen this movie about 50 times now and every time I watch it, it gets better. Once you can understand the dialect and slang it truly becomes a great movie. If you like dark humor it's for you.
