Summary: Hot Movie
Review: "Chasing Liberty" was such an awesome movie. Mandy Moore was excellent in portraying a president's daughter who's only wish is to have more freedom. She looks excellent and acts really well. Matthew Goode, who plays her secret service agent/love interest is amazing. He is such a good actor and his looks don't hurt him at all. He definitely is the next "Brad Pitt"...although cuter!! Go see it.

Summary: Excellent
Review: I honestly think that the movie was one of the best, it was so romantic, not cheesy....I thought that Mandy Moore had come a long way from her last movie, she did a fantastic job. And Matthew Goode.....you can't find someone that starts out so good, he just did an amazing job in the movie. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this movie, a true 5 star all the way.

Summary: OMG!
Review: Hands down this is the worst movie that I have ever seen in my life. In all honesty I couldn't believe that it was this bad. Mandy Moore is a miserable actress, she was completely unbelivable and very unemotional. The plot line was ridiculously stupid & upsetting. Looks like Moore's first flop ('How to Deal') will be closely followed by her second.

Review: Chasing Liberty: ****½

...

Several movies have used the 'White House Child' theme, but this one actually works. It is well-acted, ..... I love the music, the scenery, and the intelligence. Most PG-13 movies could not care less about story development...because the filmmakers figure that the intended audience really does not care about the story. Just give them action and suggested sex; they will be happy. But Chasing Liberty does it right by showing its intended audience and everyone else respect.

(Only the very end sort of falls flat.)

Summary: Who's the target audience?
Review: Chasing Liberty was a poorly done film at best. Here is a one sentence summary: the movie chronicles the teen first daughter's attempts to sleep with a guy. It would be an eyebrow raiser if her motives were voiced, but to make it worse, this theme is mostly implied throughout the movie. The movie loses its appeal because its PG-13 theme has been suppressed to appeal to a G rated audiences. This attempt is disastrous at best, and leaves all viewers either baffled or disgusted. There are several problems with the plot, and several points that just didn't make sense. Few in even the US could recognize the first daughter, so why do so many people in Europe recognize her? Anna certainly does not appear to be a bright individual, yet she attends Harvard? If you try to figure out a plot or the characters, don't because there isn't a plot and the characters are paper-thin. The movie is nothing more than Anna and Ben's adventures in European cities, and the movie's only good points are the beautiful backdrops of Prague and Venice, and the acting talents of Matthew Goode and Jeremy Pivan.

Summary: Really likable romantic comedy
Review: If you are a fan of the romantic comedy genre you will like this movie. Mandy Moore and Matthew Goode were terrific in this movie. They had a nice chemistry. Mandy was likable and less annoying than most in this genre. They should had spent a little more focus on Matthew. He had good screen presence and appeal, I hope to see more of him in other movies. My only complaint was that the ending was cut-off. It did drag on a bit in the beginning but it was needed to set up a more believeable storyline. It does have brief nudity, which was a surprise. I had low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like it. The movie takes place mostly in Europe and there are some beautiful scenes/locations.

Summary: Great Movie
Review: I hadn't heard much about this movie before I watched it, so I didn't really know what to expect. I'm so glad that I saw it! I really loved it. Ok, so maybe it won't win an Oscar, or provoke particularly deep thoughts, but it's a very likable movie. Mandy Moore's character is happy-go-lucky and friendly, and, despite the restrictions placed on her, she seems to love life. In response to comments about her being an airhead who ignores potential terrorism threats, I think it's refreshing to be able to forget for an hour or two what's really going on in the world. "Chasing Liberty" isn't aiming to give a spot-on realistic view of American politics; it's a fun love story set in some gorgeous scenery. And speaking of gorgeous scenery, Matthew Goode was a particularly welcome love interest for Moore's Anna. Nice to look at, he also scored most of the movie's funniest lines, and seems to be a great actor. If you're looking for some pure escapism and a feel-good movie, hire "Chasing Liberty".

Summary: Great, Super Fun Flick
Review: This is such a fun movie! After seeing Mandy in "How To Deal," I was a little hesitant about this movie. Don't get me wrong, Mandy is fantastic no matter what-- her screen presence is amazing, sincere, and every bit as great as those super famous A-list movie stars, but sometimes the film itself just isn't that good. "Chasing Liberty" is a breath of fresh air for Mandy fans and film fans alike. It's less about plot and more about character, which is so great I wish Hollywood would embrace witty dialogue over a burning building.

Mandy plays Anna Foster, daughter of the President. When her dad's "secret servants" ruin her lovely dinner date that she spent hours getting ready for, she rushes into the Oval Office declaring a little independence. They come to a truce-- When they are in Prague, she will get to attend a concert with just TWO agents, instead of the whole swarm. Unfortunately, you can't make the President promise anything, and when Anna learns that her dad did indeed send more agents than what they agreed, she hits the road with a hunky photographer. (Played by newcomer cutie Matthew Goode) So a massive chase ensues with the secret service attempting to keep tabs on Anna as she gallivants through Europe, enjoying the freedom she so desperately wanted.

There's alot to love about this movie-- Mandy is terrific, and Matthew Goode definitely delivers. There is also a cute side-story involving two agents, one played by the hilarious Jeremy Piven, who deserves much more screen time than he normally gets. Also-- some cool DVD features, including deleted scenes and bloopers (where we get plenty of Jeremy Piven!) Watch this one because you're bound to like this charming story.
