Summary: Thank the Zucker-brothers for casting Leslie Nielsen
Review: When I first saw "The Naked Gun", I was 14 years old. After the film was over I was stunned. I didn't think that it is possible to make a film that funny. I was constantly laughing during the 80 minutes the movie lasted. The main reason for that (aside from the very funny gags of the screnplay) is the great acting of Leslie Nielsen. His Lt. Drebin doesn't seem to notice that something funny is going on. This understatement fits perfectly. If he overacted the film would be far less funny (a mistake that is often made in the late Mel-Brooks-spoofs). Not only Nielsen seems to know that. George Kennedy, Ricardo Montalban and Priscilla Presley also find the right tone. The film spawned two sequels which weren't bad but became less and less funny. "The Naked Gun" is still the funniest film by the trio Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker (perhaps alongside the also very good "Airplane").

Review: I just love these stupid Leslie Nielson movies, they are so stupid that they are great. The Naked Gun is probably the funniest of Nielson's comedies. I highly recomend.

Review: Every time I see this I only laugh harder. The part where Drebin knocks Queen Elizabeth II onto the table (see it and you'll know what I mean) kills me every time. The sequels are somewhat overdone, but this will last forever as one of the great comedies.

Summary: Pharsical Comedy at it's very best!
Review: If you don't like pharse, then you probably will not like this movie. But if you do, you are in for a real treat. This is a good as pharse gets--EXTREMELY funny, witty, and entertaining. Leslie Nielson is just great. And in response to a review from below: it's not really bad acting--it's is very clever acting, intended to seem "bad", which is part of what makes it a pharse! This kind of comedy isn't supposed to be taken seriously in any way. It made me laugh hysterically, and I have never seen a better movie with this type of comedy.The first sequel is almost as funny as the original; the third sequel is less so--but both sequels are funny and worth viewing.

Review: For no matter how silly the idea of having a queen might be to us....(Drebin) I know this is hard to believe but apparently the UMPIRES have got Persony in a run down...(baseball announcer)...You can't throw an umpire out of the game!... Destroying paitings, smashing vases, blowing up his own car, is there nothing Drebin won't do to protect the queen! It is a very funny movie, but what happens in the background is sometimes funnier then the acting!

Review: This movie never stops with the comedy. There are plenty of quick wit punch lines and hidden comedy going on in the background. This is a movie you will need to watch several times to catch all the comedy.

Review: I love this movie! It is one of, if not the funniest, movies that I have ever seen. Leslie Nielsen is hilarious. The jokes never stop coming. If you watch it multiple times, you will continue to see and laugh at things that you have previously not seen. I give it 10 out of 5 stars. The scene where he goes to the bathroom is darn hysterical. I have seen it at least 8 times, and it continues to make me laugh the entire movie. I highly recommend it to everyone.
