Everyone is in here-Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold,Eric Stoltz,Jennifer Jason Leigh, Forest Whittaker, and Nicholas Cage( Coppola in the credits!) It's so funny and the one liners are not to be missed in fact you'll be reciting them for weeks!! In a nutshell of it's plot, well there is none except high school kids getting in all kinds of trouble and having the time of their lives. What could be better? Get a bunch of friends together, drink some beers and watch this movie!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Jeff Spicoli is God! Review: I don't live in Cali. but this is one of those West Coast Party/Propaganda movies that made me feel like I grew up on the wrong side of the country. Kind of like how John Hughes made you want to live in the Chicago suburbs with all of his great 80s teen rebel movies. Ola! Mr. Hand
Rating: Summary: It was a good movie that is now a classic Review: I saw this movie when it first came out, it was good. Watching it again in 1999 ( when I am now 44 years old, it is even better. Great humorous examples of teens doing some stupid things and learning a little about what is really important in life and what ain't. If you were a real kid when you were a teenager you made some stupid mistakes too, RIGHT ? I noticed that some idiot from the Ununited Kingdom ( Blimy Limy Land, England ) gave this movie a bad review, probably because they seldom understand AMERICAN humor, probably because they have no humor over there, probably because they're too damn prim and proper. If you are American and you understand that teens what to participate in life and LIVE ( while sometimes making mistakes ) , and if you have a sense of humor, you should enjoy this show and have a few laughs. Watch it again after a few years and you'll have a greater appreciation for it. I highly recommend the movie, and it's also great when you're stoned man.
Rating: Summary: "Fast Times" distasteful and unfunny Review: In this cheeseball-fest movie, every character has a problem with themself. It's really nothing short of pityful and ridiculous. Notice how nobody in the this movie uses good judgment throughout the entire film. A major drag, don't waste your money.

Rating: Summary: Dudes, This Film Totally Rocks! Review: 'nuff said...now like an eskimo, chill & get this awesome movie
Rating: Summary: Righteous bucks,..... Review: the price of admission for this video is "WAAAY cheap dude!" I NEED to watch this movie at least once every other month! DO NOT RENT,...MUST OWN! Singularly the very best teen/highschool movie EVER made,..period, end of story, FINITO DUDE! It spawned a torrent of cheap "rip-off" movies (even a cheezy TV series featuring almost the same name - FAST TIMES 1986) and introduced words like "Dude" and "AWESOME, TOTALLY AWESOME!" to the average teenagers vocabulary everywhere. That phrase had NEVER been used so widely before the movie, and it remains today as an integral part of almost every kid's (and some adults) lexicon. In fact, what Sean Penn had created with "Spicoli", is SO powerful and memorable, that it endures as the "benchmark" for ALL ( I mean ALL) "surfer-dude" charactors that came after, whether it be television, movies, TV commercials - you name it - they ALL are "watered down" rip-offs of Sean Penns brilliant charactor. Chock-a-block full of, (then, just kids) talent such as Judge Reinhold, Sean Penn (of course) Jennifer Jason Leigh, Forest Whitaker, Nicolas Cage, Anthony Edwards, and the "beat of my heart", Phoebe Cates (Grrrrrrrrowl! Gawd, shes still so damn cute!), each delivers a memorable performance that ties the story together so tightly. The movie shows all sides of being a teenager,..sensitivity, insensitivity, wisdom, lack of wisdom, immaturity, maturity,...its all in here in a very HONEST package (sometimes surprisingly so). The movie broke ground in 1981. And it is so "watchable" today, 18 years later. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT even bother watching this on Television. The edited TV version really needs a "revamp",...there you will hear words like (Gawd, who could forget this one)"! (shees!) Also you will not see Stacy lose her virginity to stereo sales-guy, Ron Johnson (D.W. Brown). No Phoebe Cates "deep throating" the carrot in the cafeteria, (also no NUDE Phoebe in the swimming pool),....in fact SO much is cut out that the movie loses its integrity. THAT BAD. Maybe I get a little teary-eyed over this flick because I was in highschool when it hit the theatres,....NAW! Just a great movie. We tried to get a pizza delivered to one of my classes the week that I saw the movie,...so did hundreds of kids around the country. (I remember the news mentioning the "epidemic". LOL!) Ticket scalping, video arcades (Galaga, Centipede, ...ohhhh the memories), Cheap Trick, awkward dates, working at the mall, Pat Benetar "clones", finals week, first day of high school (last day of high school)........ its all a SWEET memory,...this is (If you couldnt already tell!) one of my top "10" favorite comedies. BUY THIS VIDEO! As Spicoli would say,..."Here dude,...you showed interest."
Rating: Summary: This high school film is NARLY! Review: No doubt about it, this is the best high school film ever made, and it is a cult classic. It was based off the book by Cameron Crowe, and it starred Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold, Phoebe Cates, and Ray Waltson as Mr. Hand. This film also included first timers who are now very well known: Nickolaus Cage(credited as Nickolaus Coppola), Forrest Whitaker, Eric Stoltz, Anthony Edwards(co-star of Top Gun, star of tv's ER), and Amanda Wyass (The very first Freddy Kruger victim, and former co star of tv's Highlander The Series). This film is what started it all in the 1980's, adapted by the book by Cameron Crowe, who also wrote the screenplay, is based on a true story. Cameron Crowe was a man in his early 20's from Germany, who came to Ridgemont High in California, and disguised himself as a student. He recorded all the events that entire year, and he then wrote the book. You will love both the movie, the book, and Jeff Spicoli(Sean Penn)! END
Rating: Summary: The background of Fast Times... Review: The film itself is a classic, from the soundtrack (which features recently broken-up members of The Eagles), Stevie Nicks, and Jackson Browne. Cameron Crowe wrote the true story of teenagers in late 70s San Diego (Clairemont High) from his own perspective, originally written for Rolling Stone magazine. Because he looked so young at the time, he was able to go to school and fit in. Even though Crowe changed the city to the LA area (the movie also takes place in LA), the Clairemont High schoolers were upset with a lot of it. "Rat" is now the writer of some of the "Dummies" books. The film itself is an essential 80s comedy classic, a lot of subjects bold at the time, a lot of new talent to move on to bigger paychecks (Forest Whittaker, Sean Penn, Nicolas Cage). Cameron Crowe should make a film about the story behind making "Fast Times" as a sequel to "Almost Famous". I think it would be great if Crowe and Heckerling did a commentary with the original cast members as well as the Clairemont High students to give added perspective on the fact and fiction of it all. I think people would want to know if these people really existed, and what happened to them.
