Rating: Summary: Not as good as the first. Review: 2 1/2 is the worst of the series. Don't get me wrong, it is funny, but not very funny. Sometimes it even makes very lousy attempts at jokes, almost as bad as the atempts in the Truman Show or Big Daddy. This one tried too hard.
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Movie Review: A wonderful movie! This is one of my favorite movies of all time! (I say "one of" because my other favorites are Airplane, Hot Shots and Mafia!) By the movies I like, you can tell what kind of person I am. If you're like me, you will love this video! And remember! Beefy cheese makes good deoderant!
Rating: Summary: Great flick, but missing a classic scene on DVD.... Review: After the success of "The Naked Gun", a sequal was immediately written. After a three year interval, Drebin and Police Squad returned. The film is somewhat slow, and is definately not as good as the first. It does have some hysterical sequences and I was surprised when one was left out. When Frank and Quentin confront each other near the end, Quentin never tells Frank to stand "over there". Frank then answers "...where?" Quentin becomes distracted and points the gun to the wall. Frank takes it from him and Quentin repeats this routine on Frank. This scene appears on VHS but must have been left on the DVD cutting room floor.....
Rating: Summary: A Disappointing Sequel Review: For all its potential, "Naked Gun 2 1/2" is nothing more than a weak retread of the original. One would think that changing the setting from LA to DC would enhance the comedic aspects of this film but unfortunately, the writers were unable to CAPITALize on this change of venue. Although there are some good gags and political satire throughout the film, the characters, especially Drebin, seem to be out of their element which makes for a rather flat performance. Yes, "Naked Gun 2 1/2" has its moments but for the most part, this is a dull and otherwise forgettable movie. You may want to rent this video only if you can get it as part of a two-for-one special at Blockbuster.
Rating: Summary: Is THIS a BUST? Quite certainly it is... Review: Funny movie, but not THAT funny to garner 4 or 5 stars. If you recall any of the episodes of the "Police Squad" TV series, many of the jokes and sight gags will be familiar. Frank (Leslie Nielsen) and Jane (Priscilla Presley) once again give the funniest performances while playing straight parts. My favorite scene has to be the "duet" of "The Way we were" between Jane and a hitman in the bathroom (as well as the ensuing battle between the thug and Frank. Hilarious! I've seen this movie on VHS several times, and wouldn't mind getting it once it comes out on DVD (saves time jumping from scene to scene).
Rating: Summary: A GRRRREEEAAATTT Flick! Review: GREAT! This is Fantastic! It is so funny. Its romantic in a funny kind of way. Somethings you don't see often in real life. Buy this movie! YOU WON'T REGRET IT! I PROMISE YOU THAT! Spose to be a VHS.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE IT! Review: I actually did like this move quite a bit, and it was amazingly funny, but it had a few too many man-gets-hit-by-something-and-falls jokes for me. This is my least favorite Naked Gun movie yet I still watch it all the time and have a good laugh. the Naked Gun movies to me are the funniest movies ever created, and this is no exception. It is great, but I think you would first want to check out the other two. My favorite scene: The one where Frank and Ed go into the sex shop while Norberg is going under all the cars. Another downer: there were too many jokes stolen from the series it was based on, Police Squad! Otherwise, very good and very very funny.
Rating: Summary: What coulda been Review: I am a big fan of the Naked Gun series. But was disappointed in this DVD. There where a couple of missing scenes and no extras to speak of, except the trailer. I geuss I just expected more.
Rating: Summary: So Funny! Review: If you liked the first one, you will like this as well. It is almost as funny as the original, and it is fun to see the same characters brought to life again, only this time to take on a whole new set of wacky adventures! Leslie Nielson shines, and has great on-screen chemistry with co-star Priscilla Presley. If you like pharse, this is for you.
Rating: Summary: Something Smells Here... Review: Leslie Nielson is back as Frank Drebin, the incompetent cop who somehow always manages to get his guy. This time he and his Police Squad pals are in Washington D.C. causing all kinds of chaos, always unintentional. As with the first "Naked Gun" movie, this sequel is slapstick comedy at its funniest. Every line, every move, every shot is loaded with jokes and sight gags. Everytime you watch this movie, you will find something that you hadn't seen before, and it will make you laugh. Sometime after the end of the first movie, Frank Drebin and Jane Spencer (again wonderfully played by Priscilla Presley) broke up and went their own ways. As fate would have it, they both end up in Washington D.C., with Jane working at The Institute and Frank investigating a bombing there. Through the course of his investigation, Frank manages to free the animals from the zoo, swim in raw sewage, and make out with First Lady Barbara Bush. The opening scene of a formal dinner at the White House, where Frank Drebin is a guest of honor for having made his 3,000th drug kill (accidentally, of course), is one of the funniest comedy scenes to have ever been made. This scene sets the tone for the movie, which doesn't disappoint at all. If you are into comedy, especially slapstick comedy, then this is one of the best movies you could ever see.
