Summary: Parents...Read This and Dont Let Your Kids Buy This Movie...
Review: Having to give this movie one star is one think I dont like about this store, whatever it's called. This borderline-porno, excessively obscene and ridiculous junk is a real bad influence on kids. Eugene Levy lost the respect I had for him in his 'Armed and Dangerous' days (1986) and the late night comedy series putting him along side John Candy. Please, leave the sex, nudity, graphic and pervasive language and obscene sexually suggestive behaviour and topics to adults. I cant believe producers and directors are letting these kids between the ages of 7 and 20 get up in front of a camera and behave like this. This is the kind of garbage that influences kids to emmulate these characters and in the end winds up on the 'O'Reily Factor'. Parents, dont let your kids get their hands on this. Trends USED to be OK to follow but this is pushing way over the limit, Ive never reviewed a movie here that I didnt like, but this has no place in any home. And while some of you reading this might be ready to trash this review saying.."Hey man, thats wacked" or whatever "That movie is awesome"... Let me tell you something, Im in my mid 20s' and I still disaprove of this trash. I live, I work, I most importantly dont do THIS all day but this kind of mistake by movie-makers is what causes these rebelious, vulgar, disrespectful and mindless characters to jump off the screen and into the homes of it's adolescent audience. If you want a good movie for your kids that'll appeal to them try 'The Breakfast Club' (1984) or something newer like 'Can't Hardly Wait' (1998).

Summary: Okay...
Review: I saw the censored version of American Pie and it's really gross.
I knew it would not exactly be a *Disney* type of movie, but I did not even expect it to be soooooo gross. There's this time when one of the guys tries to kinda make love to a pie. I mean, they have thought of some of the weirdest and grossest things. Some parts are cool and it is quite natural, I suppose, for guys to wanna make love and maybe the theme of the movie wasn't so bad, but they didn't portray it very well. It's about these guys who really wanna make love, but they don't get the right girls or the right opportunities. But when one of the geekiest kids in school claims to have made love to a hot girl, they decide they've had enough. They make a pact that they'd have lost their viginities by the time they graduate. It's about how they find the right girls and how they do it. It's a good movie, but REALLY gross in parts.

Summary: great film
Review: when i first heard of this film, i thought, "oh no, not another raunchy teen sex film," and dismissed it. then i decided to rent it and see what it was all about. i was actually quite impressed with both the acting and the script. while some parts were a bit raunchier than i would endure in films, overall, the film does a really good job at explaining and dealing with sex for teenagers these days. I had thought American Pie would turn out to be another version of Porky's, one of the most truly despicable films ever made. but it actually turned out to be intelligent and thoughtful.

The highlight of the film is when Nadia goes to Jim's house to "study." it is one of the best scenes in modern filmwork for suspense and laughter.

Overall it is a great film worth seeing at least once. Also check out the sequel, American Pie 2, which continues the adventures of the gang at the same or even better level.

Summary: A MUST SEE!
Review: I AM A 17 YEAR OLD JUNIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL. ME AND ALL OF MY FRIENDS LOVE THIS MOVIE. WHEN WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO SOME NIGHTS WE JUST GET A GROUP OF PEOPLE BRING 'EM OVER AND PUT AMERICAN PIE 1 OR 2 IN AND LAUGH ALL NIGHT. IT MAY HAVE SOME LANGUAGE AND NUDITY (NOT A LOT 1 SCENE) BUT ALL-IN-ALL ITS NOT AS BAD AS THE CRETICS MAKE IT SOUND. ITS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY COLLECTION OR IF YOU JUST STARTING YOU COLLECTION. THIS MOVIE WAS MADE FOR TEENS NOT ADULTS SO DONT BE UPSET IF YOU ARE AN ADULT, YOU CAN STILL WATCH AND LAUGH. GREAT MOVIE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Summary: Want to lower your IQ a few points?
Review: First of all, let me say that I'm not a prude, not a religious fanatic, not easily offended, and not lacking in a sense of humor. I also have an open mind and I'm not even averse to crude humor, a la South Park and Beavis and Butthead. So no one can blame my dislike of this movie on priggishness.

Put plain and simply, I found this movie unfunny. The best it managed to get from me was a couple of snickers, but that's it. I spent most of the movie wondering when it was going to start being funny, then turned it off in disgust after the internet exploitation scene. Even if I had liked the Jason Biggs character, that scene would've destroyed any liking I had. Sorry, but webcasting a young woman without her knowledge or consent isn't funny, nor is it something a decent, likeable person would do. If that scene had been omitted, I might not have hated this movie nearly as much.

The sad thing is, the movie might actually have had some potential in the right hands. As I've already said, I don't normally have a problem with crude humor; however, I do want my crude humor to be well done. The difference between this movie and something like, say, South Park is that South Park's humor is done with wit and charm. American Pie tried to have some charm, but the aforementioned internet scene gutted any heart it may have had. And as for wit...the gags here were so obvious the writers may as well have dropped anvils on the audience's head.

In the movie's favor, though, there was one surprise: the casting of Mena Suvari against type. Rather than have her play a beautiful, seductive type as might be expected, whoever did the casting gave her the role of a normal and likeable girl...although an extremely pretty one. That's really the only reason I'm not bellyaching that we can't rate a movie with negative stars.

Summary: I never did it with baked goods
Review: It seems every ten years or so, this coming of age story is re-told in some form or another and rightfully so for teens don't want to relate with their parents as teens. They want to watch people they can relate with, that hear the same music they do and drive the same cars they drive. So, Summer of '42, Porky's, Last American Virgin, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and a slew of other teenage sex-comedies will never eclipse this film with many of today's youth. With that said, they were in most cases better films.

AMERICAN PIE is also a coming-of-age film, filled with more than its share of accidental body fluid consumption, awkward masturbation and loud flatulent out-of-control bowels. But, what hindered the film more than anything is the filmmaker's lack of discrimination in editing. There are several scenes where the young performers don't seem to understand what they are saying, just spouting what they memorized. How can any director let that through? But, even the reverse would hardly propel the film to greatness.

The positives? Eugene Levy offers a real pleasant turn as a father suddenly concerned with his son's sexual being. The DVD has a nice video transfer so every moment of the Shannon Elizabeth exploitation stripis crisp and clear. The audio is fine but the soundtrack is surprisingly bare, these films usually offer a plethora of popular music... Followed up by a sequel.

Summary: Great Teen Flick
Review: This movie is meant for teenagers and young people, in my own opinion. It makes me laugh every single time I watch both AP and AP2. The new gags always get me, and I can't help but laugh my [butt] off.
