Summary: Enjoyable...
Review: I will refrain from discussing the movie itself because by now you will know the plot of "Kindergarten Cop" by the other reviews. However, I will say I have enjoyed the movie since I first purchased it on VHS a number of years ago. Having said that, I am quite puzzled it was released on DVD in the pan and scan format and not the WIDESCREEN version I have come to love. It is for this reason I will not purchase "Kindergarten Cop" until it is released in the format it deserves.

Summary: Police School
Review: If you're determined to enjoy Arnold Schwarzenegger flailing around in a classroom full of (supposedly) kindergarten-age kids, then you will, regardless of the stupidities of the plot and the taking-the-law-into-your-own-hands violence that's a bad lesson for kids or adults who watch this movie.

The only remotely funny scene in this "comedy/drama" is stolen from Woody Allen's Annie Hall, when the kids face the camera individually and tell what their daddies do. (Identical twins speaking in unison: "Our mommy says our daddy is a sex machine." Remember "I used to be a heroin addict, but now I'm a methadone addict" and "I'm into leather"?)

But Schwarzenegger gets the kids to mind him by putting up a sign on the blackboard declaring his classroom "Police School" and teaching the five-year-olds to march through the playground. The Fuehrerprinzip at work in our schools. Is this part of Bush's No Child Left Behind? Marching? Did Ivan Reitman really make this movie?

The happy ending is Schwarzenegger's Kindergarten Cop splattering a young boy's father's brains against the bathroom wall at school PRACTICALLY IN FRONT OF THE BOY. Then the principal lets him come back to the school as a teacher after he's put all the kids' lives at risk. If the writers had thought about the story for a few minutes more they could have come up with a climax that made Schwarzenegger the hero-savior but wasn't as unbelievably (if still gratuitously) vicious. But I guess that doesn't matter in Schwarzenegger movies.

Movies aren't real life, but what kind of people put this stuff out for people to be entertained by? Best of luck, California.

Summary: Go Arnie!!!
Review: Kindergarten Cop is a great movie, as a tough street cop must pose as a kindergarten teacher to catch a psychopathic criminal.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is as always fantastic - a tower of strength and courage, who also gets to show his tender side.
Penelope Ann Miller plays the hero's leading lady, and the kids are great.
Plenty of action, drama, laughs and at parts very touching...a beautiful ending.

Also beautiful was the children dressed up as Abraham Lilcoln (girls and boys) reading the Pledge of allegiance for the school function.
Reminding the world what a great nation America is , and how it needs to be protected from the forces of evil
If you see one cop-romantic comedy, let it be this one, it's really good.
Kudo's also to Arnie's cop partner Pamela Reed, and Linda Hunt as the principal of the school.

Summary: Wonderful. Funny!
Review: Kindergarten Cop is the movie that proves Arnold can do comedy and sucseed with great success! This movie will entertain both kids and adults! But parents may want to check i out before letting their kids see it. It is classified as family in some places. It is rated PG-13 for violence and profanity. Very funny, some good action, and even a little dramatic. See it!

Summary: Gut-busting laughs! A must own for Arnold fans!
Review: No matter how old you are, this movie is fun for everyone! Very funny, chock full of Arnold trademark facial expressions. We know how those can be. He also has his trademark screams and groans. Not to mention this movie contains many funny one-liners. There is also some action sequences between ARnold and the main bad guy, 'Crisp'. Hilarious fun, it'll have you laughing for days!

Summary: The Governator at his best
Review: One might not think this movie would have ever worked. 1990 was a pretty good year for Arnold with Total Recall and one might not have put him in this movie. It paired him back up with Twins director Ivan Reitman and I don't think mainstream America could see Arnold in this film.

John Kimble(Schwarzenegger) is a detective that loves his job. He is trying to bring down a drug lord Crisp(Tyson). To do that he must find Crisp's ex-wife and child. They have the evidence he needs to do that, but nobody is quite sure where they are. They are found though and they are living in the small town of Asotria, Oregon. Kimble then teams up with his new partner Phoebe(Reed) to go there and find them.

They go to Oregon and have arrangements made for Phoebe to go undercover at the local school. They know Crisps kid would be five and should be in kindergarten. There is only one kindergarten class so he has to be there. After Phoebe gets sick somebody has to fill in and Kimble steps up. He'll take her place and pretend to be a kindergarten teacher.

The plan quickly backfires in his place. He barely makes it through his first day. If it werent' for another teacher Joyce(Miller) he wouldn't have made it. I'm not going to reveal anymore of the plot because it spoils the movie and this really is a fun movie.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is the man in the movie. You have to love watching him interact with the kids in the movie. He is so much bigger than all of them, most of them are only up past his knees. You get to see a softer side of Arnold and at this point this was only the second family oriented movie he had made other than Twins. A lot of people didn't think he could interact with the kids and he shines.

The kids are fantastic in the movie. This kind of movie all depends on the chemistry of the kids and the star. You can tell the kids loved working with Arnold and why wouldn't they have. At this time in his carear he was the biggest action star in Hollywood. All the kids are great and they will leave you laughing and smiling.

Some have said this really isn't all that of a kids movie. I have to agree with them in some ways. I saw if for the first time at 8 years old and I had no problem with it. Some kids might not understand why the mom and kid are running and thats up to parents to explain that to them. Parts of the movie are a little violent and there is some swearing but it's all PG-13 stuff.

I love this movie. I've enjoyed it for over a decade now. Arnold is the man and this movie is one of the reasons why. Everybody should see this comedy at least once. So go get it and be prepared for a good time.
