Rating: Summary: THE LITTLE MOVIE THAT COULD Review: It's not very often we come across an underground independent film that is actually entertaining or even holds our interest. Usually these types of films are either too artsy or so low budget they're painful to watch. SUCKERS not only held my interest but had my whole family in stitches laughing! It's about three losers in the seedier side of Los Angeles looking to make a buck any way they can. But they're all so stupid in their own ways they end up getting themselves in trouble with local thugs (who I think have the funniest scenes in the movie). When I found out SUCKERS was made with almost no budget my jaw hit the floor. It turns out SUCKERS was made by a group of totally inexperienced friends from East LA who had a dream about making a movie. So in the summer of '97, after taking some basic film classes at a community college and using only the first draft of their script, they recruited anyone they knew willing to help out for free and shot SUCKERS in 15 days. With the exception of Danny De La Paz (latino film icon), all the actors and crew were first timers with zero experience. In fact, the crew and actors were the same people! (They talk about it in the DVD special features). So five years later SUCKERS finally gets released. I highly recommend this movie not only because it's hilarious, but because the underdog behind-the-scenes story is so inspiring.
Rating: Summary: Movie Miracle Must-Have! Review: Made for a miniscule $11,000, "Suckers" proves that dedication, creativity, and talent can turn a first-time film effort into a darling little movie. The Sativa Brothers ambitiously enter the urban latino comedy genre, untouched since "Born In East L.A." (1987), with a lovable crossover movie that ranks in the low budget arena with "Clerks" and "El Mariachi." "Suckers" is a must-have for any aspiring filmmaker and guarantees laughs to viewers who don't go to church on Sundays.
Rating: Summary: It will make you laugh out loud.....if you are in car sales Review: Sorry guys I cant give it 5 stars because only a hand full of movies (ie:The Godfather,Deer hunter) get that rating with that said I give this flick 4 stars for anyone in the business, It will make you laugh your butt off. I myself have been in the car business for over 20+ years and have seen all these characters in real life including myself as the sales manager (OH NO!!)I play this movie at our sales meeting from time to time to lighten up the day. It is the most dark side of the business, I'd like to think we dont pull this stuff on a daily basis but it does happen like it or not. I have to say I cant reccomend this movie to anyone outside the SALES business it most likely wouldnt be so funny if you cant relate. The end of the movie was a little out of wack but if you didnt have some way of ending it I guess it could go on forever. allthough I have seen some parts of the ending in the business no deaths that I recall......at least not from shooting.
Rating: Summary: Reservoir Dogs Selling Cars Review: The mysteries of used car salesmen and what their lives are really like are revealed in this black comedy. A racist car salesman inspires his multi-cultural staff on the tricks-of-the-trade when selling cars. We are exposed to the dark side of these sleazy salesman in this movie which has an incredible ending. A must see and a future cult classic!
Rating: Summary: Great Movie Review: This is a great low budget movie that offers a comical insight into the modern car business. If you like Tin Men, Used Cars or Cadillac Man, you'll love this one.
Rating: Summary: movie for ages Review: This is a movie for the ages.. Anybody who ever bought a car can relate to this movie. I hate to admit this, but I'm a car salesman and we really do those things. A must see for anyone in the buisness. If you're not, please don't watch.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding!!! Review: This is on of the greatest true-to-life movies I have ever seen. At my old dealership, Regie became our hero and the boss now acts like him.
Rating: Summary: Right on!!! Review: This movie is 1000% true to life. That's right folks. 1000%. If you work in the car business you will definately love this flick. It features sales people and mangers from every dealership. There's a person on your lot who is just like one of the caracters in the moveie. It's a great buy!!!
Rating: Summary: The best car movie EVER !!!! Review: This movie...rules. If you dont sell cars now for a living, you will be soon or you will be suing the writers of this film for the mental anguish this flick will infick on your fragile little mind. PS As a bonus, if you are a sales manager buying this movie will boost the moral of your sales staff 150% gauranteed!
Rating: Summary: The Truth of the Car Business Review: Working in the Biz, I see this happen first hand. I made me laugh to see how closely I can relate to all the characters and some of Reggies stunts. I've conducted some sales meetings much like reggies with the same advice. My write up form is almost identical to the one in the movie. You can tell this was written by somebody who spent time in the business. If you are in sales, you have to see this movie!
