Summary: This movie puts the "uck" in suck.
Review: Move over Waterworld! This movie was the award winner of our "Worst Movie Ever Made" competition. This 3yr. search of abysmal flicks included such masterpieces as "Robot Holocaust" and "Rolling Thunder". The former was stunningly bad in a post-apocalyptic-done-on-the-cheap kinda way, the latter billed itself as the "Definitive Monster Truck movie" accept no substitutes. Aluminum foil UFOs, the chicken dance, and a soundtrack performed, apparently, by a tranquilized chimp with a tin ear were the HIGHLIGHTS of Liquid Sky. I'm sure you'll find, as we did, that this flick reigns supreme as the stinker of all time.

Summary: THEY *CAME* FROM SPACE (<-- get the joke ?)
Review: OK, here's the story... this film is CULT, its AVANT GARDE, NON-CONFORMIST, '80s COUNTERCULTURE, UNDERGROUND... it has a wierd tripped out electronic soundtrack, ...wild fashion and dance and it definitely foreshadows cyberpunk... Surprizingly though... it is well cut and tells a story from begining to end - - but all and all it is wierd *ss... Its Andy Warhol without the tedious minimalism, John Waters with a Budget, and early Almodovar without... If you (like me) can appreciate stuff like that... you'll love it, and might even rank it as one of the best films ever made... If you don't, you're going to say its the worst film ever made... and that's the deal !

If anybody knows any films like it, *please* let me know !

Summary: Huh?
Review: People liked this movie?

I can't beleive it . . . I mean this movie was bad. It was so intensly AWFULL I couldn't beleive it - I watched the whole thing in disbeleif, thinking it had to get better. It didn't. It was as if it was purposely made to be unbearable.

The worst movie I have ever seen.

Summary: This movie does not deserve the hype
Review: The fact this DVD goes for crazy collector's prices is astounding. Can you say "dated"? Not in a cool nostalgic way, but dated to the point of being ridiculous. It reminds me of the [stuff] PBS used to run in the 80s ala Dr. Who (but not as good). There are some interesting points that different characters make through out the movie, but it's really not worth sitting through. If I saw this at a theatre, I would have walked out in the first 10 minutes.

Summary: The Best Film Of The 80s
Review: This dangerous experiment about aliens who have found a high off of orgasms is the best films of the 80s which showed society and culture of underground New York, which was previously unseen to many people. It is just like the way the dark side of Los Angeles was brought out in Sunset Blvd. and Chinatown. It also brought avant-garde to America, like Breathless started the genre. It is art in film at it's best and had one of the greatest scores of all time. The Special FXs are kinda goofy for it's time, but doesn't take away any of the greatness of this masterpiece of the 80s. There will never be a film like this and ranks among the greatest of all science fiction films.

Summary: one of my favorites
Review: this film perches high on my list of favorites. and just so you know that my list isn't all off-beat/arty/sci-fi/low-budgie/whatevers, it also includes "les enfants du paradis", "tree of the wooden clogs," "the big sleep", and "touch of evil". keep in mind that tsukerman hadn't been in this country very long (a russian emigre) and, opining as someone who lived in the village (and lived a lot of the lifestyle) at that time, i can say, with some authority, that he nailed the pathos, the attitudes, the very essence of the u/ground fashion/junkie scene. also remember that, at its foundation, it is meant to be funny.

Summary: Painful to watch, even more painful to know I paid for it
Review: This is by far the worst movie that I've ever seen in my life. If it turns out that we all live more lives after this one, it's the worst one I'll see for all of those lives. The only reason I watched it was because I bought a vintage poster of it at Goodwill for 49 cents and wanted to see what it was about. I felt more uncomfortable watching this than I felt when a proctologist gave me my virgin exam. Honestly, for all directors and actors who have ever made a beautiful movie, throw this out and burn the trash can to the ground. If you aren't convinced that the movie is that bad, go ahead and watch it and then you can regret for the rest of you life that you will never get those two hours back. But, if you are going to be wise and not watch it but still want to know how bad it is...stick your head in a rest stop toilet that hasn't been flushed and breath and swallow at the same time. After you've done this, cover your body in peanut butter and lay down near a giant mound of ants.

Liquid Sky is the biggest mistake in a movie rental I ever made, if I ever feel compelled to do so, I might just start a world campaign to dispose of every copy until the world has been ridden of such trash. Godspeed.

Summary: One of the best cult movies ever!
Review: This is one of the best movies ever made. It has so many things going for it: Great cast, music, costumes, make up, story, etc... Watching this movie makes me depressed that I was not old enough to be part of the New Wave/New Romantic movement of the early 80's, other than my love for MTV back then. It's not the drugs that are intriguing, but the color and character. One of this movies main highlights is the perfect Paula Sheppard. She is such a presence, and offers some of the most quotable lines in movie history. She's someone you'd be be flattered to be insulted by. The sheer weirdness of the movie requires at least 2 viewings before a decent impression is made. Very entertaining from beginning to end. If you love quality oddness, not the crap you get today with common people trying so hard to be weird, then this is worth a try. You'll never see a more colorfully beautiful movie. What ever happened to Paula and Anne? The DVD was an unexpected surprise. So is the soundtrack album. Pick up a copy, if you can find one. VERY trippy. It includes the priceless "Me and my rhythm box", but sadly not the "You're dead, and going to hell" song.

Summary: One of the strangest movies I've ever seen
Review: This is one of the strangest movies I've ever seen. Sort of like "The man that fell to earth". I loved it the first time I saw it, I was 18 years old and totally impressed. Now over 10 years later I watched it again for the second time and I was disappointed, sure it's very avant garde and the story is unique but it's also boring. The movie hasn't aged very well. But if your into the New Wave Fashion scene you should rent it.The quality of the DVD is not good however despite all of that I kind of regret that I sold my copy.
