Rating: Summary: A movie to Re"Member" Review: The third installment in the Austin Powers series is very, very funny. I tend to judge a movie by its entertainment value, and I was certainly entertained. I laughed so hard at times that I had to struggle to catch my breath. The first few minutes of the movie is especially clever, with numerous cameos from some of today's biggest stars. Pay special attention to Danny DeVito, he really steals the first few minutes. Aside from the first few minutes, the movie was unremarkable. There is a lot of the same old fraternity boy, bathroom humor, and some rehashed jokes from previous movies. In this aspect, the jokes got a bit old. At the same time, there were some new jokes that went over very well. A Mini-Austin powers was a great idea as was Mike Meyers as Goldmember. Mini-Me continues to steal the movie without speaking a single word. If you go to see this movie, you can expect to see some gross out humor, and outrageous clothing. This type of humor is not for everyone, but I think that everyone can find something appealing about the comic genius of Mike Meyers.
Rating: Summary: they saved the best for last Review: First of all, I just want to say that I'm tired of all those people who write reviews before they've even seen the movie!!! Come on, people, don't criticize the casting until you've seen the product. I saw it tonight in a "sneak preview" and I was very pleased. Eveyone in the theater was laughing out loud, and not the forced laughing that some people do, but genuine guffaws. All of the actors did a wonderful job in their roles, and even though some parts were dragged out a bit, it was still very funny. Also, look for all the cameos in this movie, they are one of the best parts (especially the Osbournes, Spielberg and Britney). I can honestly say that this is the funniest Austin Powers movie to date. Jay Roach certainly saved the best for last.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Pee-Your-Pants Funny Review: Its hard to write a long review about this movie, but a few things need to be said. This is the funniest Austin Powers ever, too many cameos to remember (believe me, these are hilarious cameos!!!) Beyonce is excellent, better than I thought she would be, I dont agree with the guy who says she is fat, she is PERFECT!!!!......and a great actress for her first time. Hands down best Austin Powers, many surprises, gotta see it!!!
Rating: Summary: Disjointed Fun Review: Austin Powers is back. This time, he must rescue his father from Dr. Evil and "the aptly named Goldmember". The story is decent enough, but we all know by now that the film is really about quick quips and sight gags, which are plenty and just as gross as ever. Michael Myers plays Austin, Evil, Gold, and the ever-disgusting "Fat Bastard". But it's Vern Troyer as Mini-Me who steals the show, and he doesn't even talk. More plot twist than ever guarantee that this series will continue. Best opening sequence I have ever seen. Parents be warned that most of the humor isn't appropriate for children. And the limits of PG-13 are really being pushed here. But take deep breaths and prepare to laugh your butt off. My only question is what happened to Heather Graham?
Rating: Summary: What is the point? Review: The only reason i saw this was because i was visiting a friend who is a projectionest so i watched it from the booth. I was glad i wasn't in the audience. This IS the dumbing down of America at it's best. It's humor is just plan stupid, the acting is a mockery to the actors guild. There is no entertainment value except to show the rest of the world what americans think is comedy. No wonder we are hated. The movie is pointless, doesn't go anywhere, it's stupid and is not very creative. There is no value to this film at all. This film is an insult to real comedy. It's just white trash at it's very best.
Rating: Summary: Yeah Baby! More laughs! Review: Austin Powers in Goldmember is no doubt one of the funniest movies so far this summer. Sure, from seeing the first two you'd think you've seen the jokes one too many times, but Mike Myers and company seem to add new freshness to them every time. The cameos in the beginning are great, so make sure you're prepared to count the stars..! This is a shagadelic time at the movies, don't miss it!
Rating: Summary: Beyonce can really work it out! Review: I was so excited to see Beyonce as Foxxy Cleopatra. The movie is extremely funny! The opening scene was extremely funny! The dialogue, the casting and the usual Austin Power pranks are really enjoyable. The movie is basically a trip back in time- a modern day type past? Myers is back but this time he's actually funny. Maybe Knowles helped his performance? Probably! Knowles is the latest in the series, we've loved Liz Hurley, loved Graham, now it's time for Beyonce. The enjoyable part was the usual the dirty jokes, the pranks, and the overacted cast! But you'd probably only enjoy this if you enjoyed the others in the series. If you thought the others were fake and unrealistic, you'd probably hate this! The feature is hilarious! After quite a lot of years Myers finally once again meets Dr. Evil. Teaming up with the unexplained Goldmember, Dr. Evil comes up with a time-traveling plan to take over the earth, one that includes the capturing of Nigel Powers, Austin's darling dad. In 1975, Myers meets his lovely Foxxy Cleopatra (Beyonce) who plays a sexy detective. It's up to Foxxy and Austin to save the day and to stop Dr. Evil from his evil plans. The movie is great! Written by Myers himself, the movie is yet another creative weird James Bond movie. The soundtrack includes Beyonce's solo performance in "work it out" as well as two songs written by Myers! Myers was eager to make the third film in the series interesting and just as funny, and he has succeeded! Way to go Myers and Knowles! ----Ahmed Mashhood
Rating: Summary: Looks promising Review: As both an afficiando of 60's and 70's nostagia, and a modern day woman, I wound up liking Beyonce's Foxy Cleopatra much more than I intially anticipated. The inital annoucement of her casting caused some concern, but early previews indicate she may be Austin's most intriguing partner yet. Unlike Hurley and Grahmm, whose spy role belied an unconvincing innocence, Cleopatra is a street smart sister in the traddition of Foxy Brown and Cleopatra Jones (her name is a fusion of the two blaxploitation characters).
Rating: Summary: I hate people who dislike beyonce the hottest girl Review: i think people who don't see the movie can critize beyonce becauce she looks funny and it s the best black woman so you're stupid to say that it s a worse choice, (do you prefer Angie Stone?)because the actress must be a singer so it s the best choice and she is the best for workin it out the movie.
Rating: Summary: Beyonce BAD? Review: Hi I'am just basically writing this review to all those other people who think Beyonce is a bad choice for this movie, yeah right Beyonce is great, man she has accomplished so much and is still very young. Like Come on guy's Beyonce is brillant in everything she does and will be brillant in this. Now About the 'Fro, So many had them back then they were hip, groovy, and wild. Even from the previews you can tell she won't have it in all the time. In the last Austin Powers video the female side kick had terrible acting skills, but just don't think about it to much just like the plot. There are many movies out there with bad acting but are still good movies, so even if you think Beyonce can't act (Even though I know She Won't let us down) just remember all the effort she has put fourth, and throw her a freakin' bone here alright. Beyonce is a good rolemodel for alot of people and i'm sure will be a good actress. Beyonce I love you you are great and don't let the haters bring ya down!
