Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fun to watch
Review: When I heard about the storyline to "Dr. Dolittle 2", I couldn't help but laugh and decide before I even thought about watching it, that it wouldn't be as good as the original. I mean, how can a film in which Dr. Dolittle (Eddie Murphy) is now settled in his role with talking to the animals, and one in which he has to find a way to get a circus bear and a normal female bear in the woods (both the same endangered species) to breed in order to keep the entire forest from being cut down, be a good movie?

But alas, "Dr. Dolittle 2" proved me wrong. It takes it awhile to get going, but once it does, the laughs keep on coming. Like the Amazon.com review says, this movie is geared mostly toward kids, but it can at least be very entertaining to adults as well. For instance, in one part of the movie, an offer is made from the human enemies to the animals. Deciding that the offer was blahful, a raccoon (one of the animals' spokesmen) walks over and urinates on the paper. Dr. Dolittle himself then says "I think that's a no. Maybe a hell no." That was hilarious.

And there are a few other parts and lines in "Dr. Dolittle 2" that will have you laughing your blank off, whether you're 10 or 100. There are also a few dramatic side quests that the great Dr. Dolittle will have to deal with in his quest to save a habitat.

Whether it's the drama or the comedy, "Dr. Dolittle 2" works, overall. It might not have the magic or the originality of the blockbuster original, but I'd say that it's just as good, if not better, than the original. What I mostly look for when I'm watching a comedy movie is how funny it is, and "Dr. Dolittle 2" is just that, funny.
