Rating: Summary: We need more feel good movies like this. Robin is terrific! Review: Robin Williams is one of the best. His comedy and human interest stories just make you feel good. I never have to hesitate about taking my grandchildren to one of this movies. They love him and look forward to watching his movies. Mrs. Doubtfire is worn out! Please Robin keep making these goody movies. There are more of us out there than you think!!
Rating: Summary: Just Horrible Review: I had to sit through this piece of fluff on trans-atlantic flight. Totally predictable plot, paper thin characters, and Williams' gags weren't even funny. The only funny bit was when Williams has to defend himself in the climactic trial scene and makes a big dopey speech about how great he is.
Rating: Summary: A piece of collection. It's a real treasure. Review: If you are a sensible and smart person, this movie is for you. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you think and it will fill your life with energy. Out of the easy "100 million dollar movie" Hollywood scheme (full of special effects, graphic sex and violence), this movie belongs to a superior level, deeply human, rarely reached by american productions, and diserves to rest by "Life is beautiful" and "Cinema paradiso" in the Olympus of cinema.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Movie! Review: Anyone who does not immensely enjoy this movie is missing the meaning of life or is still too young to realize that they are mortal! It does not matter if you agree with Patch Adams' persona or not, this movie makes you realize what is missing in the medical profession and that is personality and compassion. If the medical profession even met half way towards Patch's outlook, there would be many more happy, and more importantly, healthy people in this world. Robin Williams was perfectly cast. This part was taylor made for him. Many of my friends saw this movie, including a couple of doctors, and thought it was one of the best movies they have ever seen as did I. The person above who keeps writing this was a stupid movie needs to go back to get his/her grade school degree and grow up or, stick to the shoot em' ups where emotions are checked at the door.
Rating: Summary: See the movie and judge it yourself... forget the critics. Review: In my opinion, Patch Adams was one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen. Granted it did get dramatic at one part, but the drama didn't drown out the comedy. This is one movie that really made me feel good. Bitter people, and bitter reviews really don't do this film justice. If you don't buy it, do yourself a favor and atleast rent it.
Rating: Summary: Beyond Incredible!!!! Review: This was the most amazing movie that I have ever seen!!!! I cried through the whole movie, yet I was laughing at the same time!! I cannot begin to say how incredible the movie was. Robin Williams was brilliant in this. Just go see it!!!
Rating: Summary: You'll laugh, you'll cry, but is Patch really a hero? Review: Mixed feelings about this one. Yes, the type of treatment that we simply accept as customary at a doctor's office would be considered a horror story from any other type of business. What would a restaurant be like if it used the "doctor's office" model of customer service? For starters, even though you had reservations, you would have to "sign in," complete with what time you'd made your reservation and how you were going to pay. You'd have to give your order several times. First, when you made the reservation. Then, when you "signed in." And again when they took you to your table. And yet again when the waiter finally arrived. Of course, you'd have to wait an hour for the waiter, who, instead of apologizing for the wait, would talk to you in a hurry-up-I'm-late tone of voice. Such a restaurant would not last too long. Yet the health care industry gobbles up a bigger piece of our economy every year. So along comes Patch Adams, who actually sees his patients as people(!). Trouble is, he also seems like a con man--how long has he been "working on" building his own clinic? Robin Williams is entertaining and hilarious, but he portrays Patch as a near-saint, which seems a little exaggerated.
Rating: Summary: Never saw it coming. Review: This was the best movie I saw in 1998, period. I went into that theatre expecting some good laughs in classic Robin Williams style. And i received just that, a performance that reminded me of his old stand up routines. The comedy was historical, something that many othersa will try to live up to. But it also brought me to tears, something I never dreamed I'd do in a Robin Williams movie. This movie was perfect, made you laugh, made you cry and was emotionally charged through the entire length.
Rating: Summary: SIMPLY AMAZING Review: -ONE OF THE BEST FILMS OF YEAR. ROBIN WILLIAM DOES A MAGNIFICENT JOB PLAYING THE REAL LIFE PATCH ADAMS. TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, I ACTUALLY CRIED DURING THE MOVIE. IT'S A MUST SEE MOVIE.
Rating: Summary: Patch Adams is a unique individual. Review: One word to sum up my thoughts of this movie....INSPIRATIONAL!!!
