Summary: Orphan in Denver, Colorado
Review: I loved this movie. My dad just died two months ago and this is the first time I've seen this movie. Tomorrow I'm going out and build a snowman, play my harmonica, and pray that my dad comes back as a snowman. I miss him.

Summary: JACK FROST DVD REVIEW: A cool movie for families/children!
Review: I remember when I first heard that Michael Keaton and Kelly Preston were going to be in a snowman movie and I was like...why? I was actually expecting this movie to be bad but I was surprised that I enjoyed it a lot! I really liked how they developed the story between father and son and then son losing father. A very touching story that your children will definitely enjoy!

First, the pictures don't do the snowman justice because they really did a good job in the movie making the snow man look good with the use of teaming up with George Lucas Industrial Light and Magic. Awesome!

The video transfer is beautiful and the audio is pretty good considering it's a dialogue movie. As for the DVD, the movie comes with production notes and the theatrical trailer. I wish there was a long featurette and perhaps deleted scenes or something but it's ok... I got more what I expected from this movie.

In a way, I'm kind of happy that Michael Keaton took this role because for a good actor, to make a film for the families/children out there, shows great character.

A cool movie for families to watch together with their children.

Summary: I thought that it was very good.
Review: I saw most of this film on HBO and I thought that the film was very good. I don't think that it glorifies death. Who is to say that our relitives don't come back?? It is a movie that deals with a father that dies in an accident. A year later he returns in the form of a snowman. I thought that this movie was sooo good! I thought the film had the right touches of comedy and Drama. I thought that this movie was a wonderful showcase for Michael Keaton. Not only can he be funny and serious, he can also play music too! I thought that this movie should have been treated better. Sometimes we all need magic in our lives. The end scene with the father and son together for the final time had me crying. I think that Jack Frost should have been treated a lot better... Diserves a chance to be seen...

Summary: Wonderful film for all ages!
Review: I still can't believe how unfairly this movie was trashed by the critics. What were they so offended about? The snowman? Hey, if a snowman came to life, this is how I'd do it! Michael Keaton makes a perfect snowman -- he has fun with the role but takes it serious enough not to condescend to it. Young actor Joseph Cross ("Wide Awake") is superb as always as a real kid you root for and care about. A great warm film that deserves to be a holiday classic despite what those Grinch-ly critics say!

Summary: Worth Buying
Review: I think that this movie is a great movie for all ages. It might suggest reincarnation a bit...but HEY it could happen. I think Joseph Cross and Michael Keaton play well together. They were also in Desperate Measures(R) together. This is my favorite movie, and it is NOT like howard the duck!

Summary: Great Fun Movie
Review: I thought this movie was really good. Michael Keaton, Joseph Cross & Kelly Preston did really a great job in this movie. Real good script. The snowman I thought was awesome. Great special effects. But, there were some sad parts in this movie. It is a movie for all ages! Did you know that the end title song by Hanson was also in the movie "Twister"? It was in the (middle of movie) scene when Jo & Aunt Meg were talking upstairs in the bedroom & music was playing softly in the background. I just recently noticed this cause I have both "Jack Frost" & "Twister" & I like to listen to the music in movies. I just happened to notice this. Watch "Twister" when you get to that part of the movie I just mentioned, listen carefully to the song in the background. I thought I share this interesting tidbit. Email me at Jason216@webtv.net for any comments! Thanks!

Summary: Don't waste your time
Review: I'm just glad I saw this rubbish on HBO instead of paying good money to see it. The plot had more holes in it than swiss cheese. And the boy who played Charlie (Joseph Cross) is only a fair actor. (Where's Jonathan Taylor Thomas when you need him ! ) At least the Colorado scenery was good, but that's about the only positive thing I got from this movie.

Summary: Awful
Review: I'm shocked at the number of positive reviews for this film, and wonder whether the version of "Jack Frost" I had the misfortune to see recently was a bootleg version, or a rough draft. Because it was unfathomably awful.

The plot's inherent creepiness -- absentee dad dies, only to be reincarnated as a talking, ambulatory snowman who learns what's really important about life, etc. -- is matched by indifferent acting and a general sense of cheapness (from the shoddy studio set to the lighting to the Hanna-Barbera quality special effects).

Keaton tries his best here -- he's by far the most charismatic actor, but he is dispatched quickly. You get the sense Keaton acted all his scenes in about a week and then did voice-over work for his snowman dialogue on a few off weekends. In retrospect, he had the right idea. Steer far away from this wreck.

Summary: crazy movie
Review: i'm such a weirdo. i noticed this movie laying around the other day and started to watch it. yes, it's not christmas time. oh well. i decided to review it anyway, perhaps there is somebody else out there who watches xmas movies at odd times. i remember the first time i watched this, i thought it was an ok movie but not great. i think it's crazy. a dad coming back as a creepy snowman?? there are some sad parts that will make you teary like when the boy is making the snowman while "landslide" plays and of course at the end. i like michael keaton and it's cool that he sings in the movie. all in all, it's nicely done and a cute movie for kids but a little disconcerting because it deals with death and some heavy feelings and stuff like that.

Summary: It'll melt your heart!
Review: If a movie has a snowman in it, then it's a movie for me. It's hard to put into words what these rotund beings of crystalized water molecules represent, but their icy-calm joviality in the dead of winter brings a smile to my face. They symbolize life, when life is in hibernation.

(Although, the word "snowman" is gender-specific, and beings so pure are above such petty distinctions. I prefer calling them "snow-sapiens.")

With the advances in CGI, I was waiting for Hollywood to bring me a lifelike tale of snowmen. My hopes were granted with the release of the magical film "Jack Frost."

Full of dazzling special effects, "Jack Frost" brings us the story of a young boy (Charlie) who's lost his father. They are reunited when Dad's spirit animates a bouncy, energetic man of snow. Michael Keaton (in his best work since "Multiplicity") provides the voice of this cool character. Together, Charlie and the snowman share many snow-themed adventures, from a rousing sled-ride to a snowball fight. To be sure, their opponents don't stand a chance against a being so adept at throwing projectiles formed from his own substance! Such is the power of Jack Frost.

It's poetic that a being composed of cold can bring such a magical tale of warmth. This uplifting fairy tale will be frozen in place as a classic of American cinema.

Just beware of a similarly titled movie about a serial-killing snow creature. It's a stain on the purity of snow-sapien films.
