Summary: Some one couldnt pay me to see this again!
Review: This movie of a perfect example of.. well a movie that [is bad] (sorry if that word offends anyone, but based on the kind of people who see these movies i dont think it will) This movie has no plot (unless you consider ron scheinder changing into a women a plot) and is just stupid with many sex and crude gags that will obviously (but sadly) attract many teen viewers. This movie is so bad that i almost left in the middle of the movie I mean it was based on all crude gags, i mean look at the movie poster! All rob scheinders movies are terrible and they should just stop making movies with him in it! If you are going to waste money in seeing this movie feel free to but i would highly reccomend you do no! PS i noticed half the people who gave this movie 5 stars can not spell correctly (theres your prime audience rob!

Summary: Hilarious!!
Review: Fans of Rob Schneider's previous work "Deuce Bigelow" and "The Animal" will be equally pleased and laughing their socks off with his latest offering, "The Hot Chick."

THE STORY:

Jessica Spencer (Rachel McAdams), the stereotypical "pretty but mean" high school chick swaps bodies with a petty crook Clive (Schneider). From there, Jessica and her friends attempt to figure out how to restore Jessica to her proper body. In between all types of cross-gendered mayhem takes place to hilarious results.

BEST SCENES:

- Fight at the bar
- Pillow fight!!
- Learning to pee
- Anything you saw in the previews

THE ANALYSIS:

Schneider fans should find what they've come to expect from his movies, tons and tons of hilarious (if unintelligent) humor. The interaction between Schneider and the younger actresses is superb and the hilarious situations both Jessica and Clive find themselves in will keep you balling with laughter throughout the film.

On a deeper level the film also touches upon the ever so important teen issue of relationships and fidelity. There are some touching scenes between the two female leads, Jessica and her best friend April (Anna Farris) and some nice scenes between Jessica and her parents.

THE VERDICT:

If you're already a Schneider fan you shouldn't be disappointed by this outing. If you've never seen his work before you may find yourself pleasantly surprised by this one. It's a perfect film to unwind to after a long week at school or the office.

Highly Recommended

Summary: Better Than "The Animal"!
Review: I loved "Duece Bigalow: Male Gigalo", and pretty much hated "The Animal", so before I saw this, I couldn't decide whether I'd like it or hate it. I saw it, and it could've been a little better, but it's fine with me.

Jessica, a high school hot girl, believes that because she's so beautiful and perfect that everyone loves her. She goes to the mall with some friends, and goes into an old enchanted magical thingies shop (where an Adam Sandler cameo occurs). She steals two magical ear rings, which, at the time, she doesn't know are magical. She puts one on; the other falls into the hands of a bum crook who was robbing a gas station (Rob Schinder; the crook's name is not mentioned). He puts them on, and the next day they wake in each other's bodies. Jessica goes to her friend for help (her friend happens to be a blonde Scary Movie star), who doesn't believe her at first (you've seen the advertisements), but after some convincing acts, she believes, as do the rest of Jessica's friends, who are her only allies, aganist other men and women who just think she's gay.

Would I see this movie if I hadn't seen a Schinder movie before? Yes. Same with Duece Bigalow. But I'd completely forget about The Animal. But that's just me.

Summary: HILARIOUS! One of the best comedies of the year!
Review: THE HOT CHICK (2002)

Believe it or not, The Hot Chick is one of the best comedies of the year. It's been awhile since I've laughed so much at the theater. To my surprise, it even held up really well upon a second viewing, which is rare for comedies.

Anna Faris (Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2, May) gives another winning comedic performance here as April, proving she's one of the best young comedic actresses working today. Her facial expressions are absolutely classic. She never fails to make me laugh and I look forward to her future projects. Rob Schneider gives a really fun performance in what is his best comedy to date, not that it was too hard to top Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (7/10 or B-) or The Animal (5/10 or C).

Overall, The Hot Chick exceeded my expectations and proved to be a real fun time. It was laugh-out-loud funny from beginning to end. I even appreciated its sweet side and its good message, although most people probably won't take it too seriously anyway. This is not a great film by any means, but it is a very fun one. If you just want to have a good time and laugh then you can't do much better than The Hot Chick.

Grade: 8/10 or B+...

Summary: Much Better Than You'd Think
Review: What do you get when you switch the body of a vapid teenage girl with that of a crook? This film, The Hot Chick, about a snotty popular high school girl, Jessica Spencer (Adams), who gets her come-uppance when she wakes up one morning to find herself inside the body of a man she had made fun of the day before. It's not brilliant comedy, but some great pacing, funny jokes, and spirited performances by the cast make an otherwise silly film be a lot better and more entertaining than you would think. Besides, just the sight of Rob Schneider in scene after hilarious scene prancing around in undersized baby tees and hip huggers are worth the price of admission. Perfect for seeing with a significant other or group of friends. Just remember to leave your brain at the door-- and be prepared for tons of cartoon violence, jokes about male genitalia, and bathroom humor punctuated by a few surprises (including a guest cameo).

Appropriateness: not for children under 13, as there is some language and NYPD Blue-type nudity.

Summary: The Hot Chick
Review: Jessica Spencer (Rachel McAdams) is her high school's most popular student, but also its meanest. Together with her friends (including Anna Faris), Jessica makes life miserable for most of the people around her. But her attitude changes when she comes into contact with mystical identity-swapping earrings, and her body is swapped with that of a grimy small-time crook named Clive (Rob Schneider). Stuck inside a shell she can't quite figure out, Jessica must make amends with those she's offended, before her new body threatens to ruin her relationship with her boyfriend (Matthew Lawrence), the big cheerleading contest, and, of course, prom.

I'll be honest, `The Hot Chick' is feebly directed, written with a distinct aim at crudity and dangerous stereotyping, drags on for over 100 minutes, and stars the less than appetizing Rob Schneider. Yet, with the help of producer Adam Sandler, and Schneider's developing writing talents, `The Hot Chick' overcomes its weak design, and turns out to be a completely agreeable, often very funny experience. While it doesn't share in Sandler's normally good natured method, it makes up in sharp targets for comedy, and a supporting cast that's is better then expected.

There is a lot of comedic road to cover with this plot, and Schneider (with director and co-writer Tom Brady) does his best to touch on every teenage girl cliché and absurd situation. Coming off his similarly silly `The Animal,' Schneider is growing more confident with each new film as the box office grows with them. `The Hot Chick' features Schneider's best performance to date, as he eats up the chance to turn his decidedly goofy 40 year-old male body and narrow personality into that of a sexually-charged 17 year-old girl. The results are quite funny, with Schneider finding time to lampoon other subjects like teen girl key chains, morning erections, pillow fights, the mystery of male genitalia and the men's room, strip club rules, and the giddy taboo of teenage drinking. It's all written in a extravagantly bizarre Sandleresque way (Mr. Sandler also cameos here), that merges the absurd with the deliriously funny, and I was surprised just how much Schneider connects with the funny in `The Hot Chick.'

Helping the film is the supporting cast, namely Anna Faris and Rachel McAdams. Faris is a veteran of satiric comedy with her stint in the Wayans Brother's `Scary Movie' films (I would even to so far as to say Faris is the only reason to watch those pictures), and she has a way of wringing a laugh out of anything. With her gigantic eyes and willingness to go very broad for a response, Faris is a pleasure in `The Hot Chick,' and steals the film away from Schneider when she can. A talented comedienne at 26, Faris has a long career ahead of her for audiences to look forward to. The same could be suggested of McAdams, who has the unenviable task of embodying the other side of this gender switching comedy. Like Farris, McAdams also lets herself look a little foolish to find the laugh, and she succeeds just as easily. A nice debut for this young actress.

Where `The Hot Chick' swerves into trouble isn't the jokes that don't work (and there are many), but the fact that every scene seems to be about 30 seconds longer than it should be. The pace often becomes sluggish, and for a comedy this silly, it's murder. The picture seems one editorial pass away from being truly great, with jokes run into the ground and performances carried on a little too long. Arguably, `The Hot Chick' may have other problems that some simple edits here and there won't fix, but it's funny more often than not, and I don't ask much more than that from wacky undertakings like this.

Summary: Schneider is up to par.
Review: One tends not to expect much when viewing a Rob Schneider film. Silly concepts that normally would not go anywhere further than a skit on 'Saturday Night Live', but Schneider manages to sneak his movies into our minds one way or another.

In this movie, Schneider plays a teenage girl trapped inside an older man's body. Only the girl's best friends know the truth--everyone else thinks he is gay. Since the audience is in on the joke, there is no offense to be taken. You expect the character to be feminine because you know what is happening.

Opening sequence is great. Then the next half hour is slow. But everything is good until the final three minutes. Good twist in a way, but at the same time does not seem to fit. And since the movie does have a 'gay' subplot, some viewers will not get pass that to see that there is a message here.

Rated PG-13 for drug references, brief nudity, strong sexuality and suggestive language. Want to see the R-rated version.
