Summary: Another Farrelly dud
Review: The Farrelly Brothers are back, this time as producers, trotting out yet another tired variation on a once brilliant theme. This hit or miss comedy is another "There's Something About Mary" wannabe that falls far short of that standard. The film unquestionably has its hilarious moments, but the once funny hair lick gag has lost its luster and the film relies far too frequently on desperately crass bits that fall flat. The sight of Chris Klein with his arm stuck in a cow's rear end is not remotely funny and to drag that bit out for ten minutes is torturously vapid.

Fundamentally, the Farrellys are proving themselves to be a one trick pony with little fresh material emerging since "Mary" and an increased reliance on low-brow, revolting comedy to compensate for the fact that their creative tanks are apparently running on empty. Director J.B. Rogers brings nothing new to the table, seemingly content with following the threadbare Farrelly formula.

Heather Graham sparkles with a vivacious performance, despite being underutilized. Graham's peculiar beauty and her quirky demeanor make her perfect for offbeat romantic comedy roles, and she provides a bright spot here as Klein's love interest. Chris Klein is no dynamic actor, but his good looks and pleasantly hapless comportment are a good fit for the role. The best comedy is provided by Orlando Jones and veterans Sally Field and Richard Jenkins, whose comic delivery and physical comedy are terrific on all counts.

This film has glimmers of comedic brilliance, but far too few to make it more than another mediocre footnote on the Farrelly Brothers decaying resumes. I rated it a 6/10. Add a point if you enjoy low brow gross-out humor.

Summary: funny
Review: The farrelly brothers did not write or direct this movie. Their name was only used for marketing as producers. Aside from the lack of the farrelly's sharp wit, the movie was actually funny. The best parts in the flick were when Gilly gets his hand in the part you would least wanna think about of a cow, the cat being under the sheets, "and I got these pierced", and Orlando Jones. the movie is rather mean, but you can forget about that for a good laugh.

Summary: One of the worst films ever
Review: There's no question about it, 'Say It Isn't So" is the worst film of the year. Maybe even of the decade! This film is so uninspired and pathetic. It's not funny either. Most of the humor is so repulsive it would only be funny to a few horny teenage boys.

The characters are MISERABLE. You end up hating them instead of emphasizing with them. There are many scenes where the director is obviously trying to convey some emotion and feeling, but you hate the characters so much that you end up cheering. Oh, and forget about character development, there's absolutely none to be found.

Believe it or not, "Say It Isn't So" is plain old boring most of the time (yes, even with Heather Graham prancing around in hip huggers and bossom baring tanks). Chris Klein talks as though he's on drugs most of the time (who knows, that may have been on purpose) and therefore says his lines with such a monotonous tone that you want to scream! The plot is so boring and NEVER EVER motivates you or excites you in ANY way. You end up not caring what happens to the characters.

Another thing that really bugged me about this movie were the quick jumps between events. For example, Klein's character is shipped off to Mexico on a plane while he is unconscious. The next time you see Klein he is back in America wearing a sombrero. How does he get back??!! The director doesn't even bother to show us. I'm guess that at this point in the film he'd just about given up.

Summary: Underrated
Review: This film was made by the Farrely brother (Something about Mary, Kingpin, Shallow Hal ect.) So if you liked any of these features you will enjoy this one. There are some crude scenes, some flimsy acting and a cheesey plot. The right recipe for humor! I recommend this to comedy fans but not to 'Roger Moore' fans. =P

Summary: A Fun AND Sweet Story
Review: This film would get a bad review if you only focuses on it's gags; which though some are funny, overall it leaves a bad aftertaste, hint: the cow should definitely be left out of the movie. On the otherhand, this is a great film if you review it as a romantic comedy; it is a great film in this genre.

This movie is often typecasted as a gross-out comedy, which it isn't really, though the comedy is gross, the gags are to lighten up the atmosphere of the tragedy and should not be taken as the primary topic of the film; the comedy is the side dish, the love tragedy is the main course. Comparing the film to gross-out comedys is like comparing the Hannibal movies to the Slaughter House films.
Another misconception is that this film is about incest, well, it's not, it just isn't; anyone who says otherwise didn't watch the movie.
If I have to describe/categorize the movie, it would be as a sweet love story; it isn't about the comedic gags at all.

Though the acting isn't superb, it is enough to make you believe the characters are really in love with each other<-- which is in and of itself a rare accomplishment, this alone makes the film worth watching.
What I like most about the film is its atmosphere, a light quaint one that has romance in the air. Anyways, the movie is very Sweet, with just the right amount of sadness sprinkled; the comedy is a bit much, but otherwise, it is just so SWEET.

Summary: funny comedy that got the shaft at the box offce
Review: This is a really funny movie. But back in march when it was released it bombed at the box office I wanted to see it and tomcat's both but they dispeared faster then you could blink. Tomcats was ok for a rental but not one you would want to see over and over again like say it isn't so. This is not on par with the brilliant there's something about mary and me, myself and irene, kingpin or even dumb and dumber, but if you liked any movie mentioned in this reveiw you will probbally like this. The dvd has a good and intresting commentery trck with J.b roger's who directed the smash hit amercian pie 2, and that film's star chirs klein sit's in on it. It also got a few deleted scene's, a very breif featurette and the trailer and tv spot's. Buy this movie you will most likly enjoy it at least give a chance as a rental.

Review: This is a really funny movie. It may seem sick at first but then it gets really interesting. It is a film that should have been more reconized. It is real funny, and it might seem dumb but it is a real great film with the guy whos in the 7 up commercial. These special feattures are great too. This is a dvd that you should get and its pretty cheap too. Chris Klein is the guy in american pie. The jock dude you know that guy. This is a definate must.

Summary: This one takes the cake
Review: This is absolutely the worst movie I have ever seen. It is insultingly unfunny, and exploited every cliche the "raucous comedy" genre has to offer. Ha ha, a hand up a cow's ass... Ha ha, she cut his ear off! (get it, because she's a bad hair dresser?) Ha ha, it's gross that it's his sister... Damn, this movie sucked. See for yourself, I dare you.

Summary: this is insanely quirky... great romantic comedy!
Review: This is one of the craziest movies I've ever seen. Love Chris Klein's soft-hearted simpleton personality... Heather Graham is great... nothing like the Farrely Brothers. Can they make some insane films or what? This film is not for everyone... definitely not. It's quite politically incorrect at times... and it pokes fun (but vengefully) at the physically challenged..... but the great thing is, what they make fun of, comes back to haunt the taunter. It's great. You'll see what I mean if you see the movie. The ending is great.... I love the plot twist and Heather's character's father.... hilarious. It makes you flinch, parts... but it's all in good fun and like I said, the great thing about it is those who taunt the physically challenged get theirs in the end. Right on. Just see it... give it a shot... I know the box may look lame but it really is a quirky, heartwarming film, although VERY quirky. I would never part with my DVD of this movie.. it's just too classic.
