Summary: An overlooked gem
Review: This is one of the most obscure movies ever made by Peter O'Toole, undeservedly so. It's by turns whimsical, dramatic, romantic, and heartrending, with a cast that makes the most of a rather peculiar story. Nobody does the absent-minded professor bit better than O'Toole, David Odgen Steirs is sanctimonious and self-centered as usual, and Hemingway was an outstanding choice for the flaky Mellie. Even the theme (String Trio Rock, which has, sadly, never been released) will reverberate in your head for days afterward.

The biggest disappointments about this disc are the pan-and-scan presentation, which was poorly executed, and the lack of extras on the disc; no background, commentary, soundtrack information, discographies, or featurettes were included.

Summary: THIS MOVIE ROCKS
Review: This is probably the best movie i've ever seen. It not only will make you laugh and cry, but will make you think. A definite keeper.

Summary: For Romantics Only!
Review: This is truly an amazing and romantic movie. I, like many, have been searching for it for years. I've read all the customer's reviews and they all agree that this is definitely the one to watch. However, it was the music that truely made it all worthwhile for me. The score is whimsical and hard to forget. Be careful! You just might find yourself humming it when you're not paying attention..LOL!

Summary: Simply Uplifting!
Review: This is, by all accounts, one of those gems that was grossly overlooked by audiences the world over, including (and most tragically) the Academy of Motion Picture Arts. This movie was one of the first that would not leave my memory days after the initial viewing. Nearly twenty years and hundreds of viewings later, it still has that same affect. The cast, the score, and most importantly the story, are all simply beyond expression. This movie features, without a doubt, the best performances from all of its cast, and a score that deserves to be released many times over in every format known to man. Most disappointing to me is the lack of features available on the DVD version! That aside, few movies these days have the heart and passion that Creator delivers, and most of all, the courage to portray a genius who believes in God! Buy it in whatever format works for you, because ultimately it is not the format or packaging that makes this movie so special. I guarantee Creator will make you laugh, cry, shout, and believe.

Summary: One of my all-time favorite movies!
Review: This movie is even better than "Somewhere in Time!" It is moody and romantic, wistful and mysterious. It touches parts of you that you had forgotten and teaches you about love all over again. It is truly beautiful.

Summary: What a lift to the human spirit!!!
Review: This romantic comedy/drama is one of myall-time favorite movies! Peter O'Toole, in his usual charming manner, reminds us all that it is OK to be unique, and to take time to smell the roses. Guaranteed to lift the human spirit!! I've been looking for a copy of this movie for years, and I've finally found the BIG picture!!!

Summary: epalfreyman
Review: This will be short. The movie is one of my favorites, ever. The romance is moving and both realistic and idealistic at the same time. Hemingway and O'Toole take a relationship that should be a joke and make it touching and believable. O'Toole is excellent as the eccentric professor. The theme of love is what holds the movie elements together and it deals with love in many manifestations. I'm not Catholic, but it was one of the few films that didn't turn Catholics into jerks, and I really enjoyed that here was a young couple trying to find love without having to disparage their faith to do it. The movie is charming, witty and touching. If you're a cynic, it won't be for you; but if you believe in love, believe in the big picture, and believe in redemption; this is a film for you.

Summary: Best movie, ever!
Review: What can I say that has not already been said. Via the most unlikely premise of a man trying to clone his dead wife; the story, the characters and the actors of this beautiful film convey a message of love, hope and humanity which is deeply inspiring. This is best movie you've probably never heard of. I am so delighted that it's made the transition to DVD. It would be a crime for this movie to be lost. I first saw this movie as a young teenager and nearly twenty years latter I've yet to be touched as deeply by anything in print, film or music. (Alright, "Schidler's List", moved me more, but this movie will move you equally far in the direction of joy.)

If you take a chance on only one old-movie-you've-never-heard-of-but-people-seem-crazy-about this year: if you only take one chance like this your in your whole life, make it this movie.
