Summary: Keep it together, keep it together, keep it together!
Review: My mother usually dislikes everything I like. Especially funny movies. So when we walked into the cold movie theatre to see Bowfinger, I wasn't expecting much of a positive reaction from her. We watched the movie, we came out of the theatre, and still with the idiotic grins of people who can't stop smiling after laughing so hard, Mom told me that it was the funniest movie she'd ever seen. Such is the power of Bowfinger, to make even the most humorless of grown-ups slap their knees and giggle helplessly. Everything I have to say about this film has been said by other people ten times over. So I'll just say this: I love this movie. And if you haven't seen it yet, then there's something SERIOUSLY wrong with you!! :::slaps the reader upside the head::: C'mon, buy the movie! Now!!!

Summary: Acting the Part
Review: Steve Martin is Bowfinger, a down-and-out director who decides the best way to make a hit movie (if you don't have any money or connections) is to film, from a healthy distance, a big star (Eddie Murphy) going about his daily routine. Bowfinger then sends his own cast of nobodies to act AROUND everything Murphy does. Martin's character is actually a less-charming version of Martin Landau's producer character in "Mistress," and "Bowfinger" sports a super cast of dimwitted/good-hearted wannabes, including Heather Graham, and Jamie Kennedy.

Summary: Steve Martin still Has It!
Review: Steve Martin plays a small time movie producer, director (Bobby Bowfinger) who tells his B movie staff actors that if he can get action star Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy) to play the lead in a sci fi script Chubby Rain he can produce the film. Satires of the movie industry are done so well via the pompus movie exexutive (Jerry Kenfro) Robert Downey Jr. After an unsuccesful attempt with Kenfro Bowfinger convinces his crew that he's signed Ramsey anyway. Bowfinger exploits Ramsey's phobia of conspiracy by meeting him at chance locations with his crew to film him unknowngly and hysterically. The concept is that Martins crew is told this is the only way Kit Ramsey will work. Murphy also plays Ramseys goofy nerdy brother who is hired as Ramseys double. Good work by Murphy. Steve Martin is in great form with his usual clever lines. The movie Chubby Rain is so horrible you can't beleive it's actually being filmed this way. Aside from slightly insulting your intellegence this movie is worth a watch. Martin does it again!

Summary: Not what it was hyped up to be
Review: I gave this movie 2 stars because that's the number of times I laughed during it. It was another "Something About Mary" another smash I thought was highly overrated. When this was over I had the same feeling I had when I watched "Mary" and that was I had watched a movie, not a good movie, just a movie. There seemed to be something missing. It was supposed to be a comedy but there just wasn't anything funny about it. If you want to watch a movie, watch this. If you want to watch a good funny movie, watch "Deuce Bigalow." It actually pays off.

Summary: A funny and entertaining movie
Review: While I was watching "Bowfinger," I was expecting it to be just a good comedy movie like most Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy movies. I was part right and part wrong. Steve Martin is a struggling filmmaker who wants to make a movie with action star Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy). Mr. Bowfinger, (Steve Martin), develops a scheme in which he will make the movie with Kit as its main star by finding Kit at various locations and filming him without him knowing it.

Parts of "Bowfinger" are funny such as when Kit keeps hearing some footsteps and starts getting scared, not knowing that it's just a dog wearing two shoes that's being instructed by Mr. Bowfinger to walk or run. My only complaint is that the movie wasn't as funny as I thought it was gonna be, but it is real entertaining. If you're a Steve Martin or Eddie Murphy fan, I do recommend watching "Bowfinger." You probably won't be disappointed.

Summary: Martin and Murphy's best film to date
Review: I must admit when I watched this movie for the first time I wasn't sure but since I have grown to love it. Eddie Murphy plays two Characters. The biggest action star in the World, Kit Ramsey, and his geeky brother Jif. I loved Kit's character as a very cool on the outside holywood type but inside is very vunruble. The extra's on the DVD are also impressive.

Summary: Surprisingly Good
Review: Martin scored heavily with this comedy, written by himself. He was long owning the audience a good movie, and he suceeded. Murphyh is stupednous, so is Heather. ENjoyable to watch, it never tires the viewer. Good.

Summary: REALLY< REALLY< REALLY GOOD...
Review: I'm not a Martin fan. The last films he made were totally forgetable. So, I was surprised after watching this film. Martin is the writer too!! The history is soft, briefly critical, enjoying, cleverly written, it never loses momentum. Murphy dispenses introduction. He's good as ever. A great example of intelligent comedy.

Summary: Hidden Treasure
Review: I will spare everyone the usual "plot review" of Bowfinger. This movie is one of the best comedies ever made. Martin wrote a script of pure brilliance. Eddie Murphy's dual roles are comparable to the greatness of The Nutty Professor.

As the usual spoof movies (Airplane, Spaceballs, Blazin Saddles) are wearing out there comedic welcome, Frank Oz and Steve Martin deliver a unique comedy style.

The initial-run marketing campaign did nothing to support the true genius of this movie. But despite the lack of "professional" hype, this movie is definitely worth the watch.

Summary: Funny and witty
Review: One film critic recently wrote that Steve Martin ought to write more of the movies that he acts in. After viewing Bowfinger, I certainly agree. This is a funny, witty film, in which Martin plays the title character - Bobby Bowfinger, a down-on-his-luck Hollywood producer. He works with a devoted group of equally down-on-their-luck actors, headlined by the brilliant Christine Baranski. Desperate to make a film, he devises a scheme to use the hot action star Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy) without Ramsey actually being in the film. To say much more would give the laughs away, but a dog in high heels, spoofs on Scientology, Heather Graham's innocent (or is she?) actress just of the bus from Ohio, and Martin's terrific spoofing of Hollywood, all combine for one funny ride. Steve, stay away from clunkers like Sgt. Bilko and keep up the great writing!
