Summary: I liked it---A LOT!
Review: The reviews on this film have not been good. But I own it. And I like watching. It's one of those films that I (and I think you will) enjoy.
It will never make the AFI Top 100 of all time greatest films.
But, the characters a likeable, you care about what happens to them, and the movie delivers a some good laughs. Tim Allen was excellent.
I'd put this film in the class as It's a wonderful life , and Mr. Destiny. Also very good feel good films that are predictable. But who cares! They're fun.

Summary: Too Predictable, But Mildly Entertaining Comedy of Tim Allen
Review: The third collaboration of Tim Allen and director John Pasquin, after their "The Santa Clause" and "Jungle 2 Jungle," brings this film called "Joe Somebody." This fact might lead you to think that this one is a family picture, but the fact is a bit different. It is in fact a slapstick comedy with some romantic tinge, and almost succeeds as the latter.Joe Sheffer (Tim Allen) has beem working for a company for ten years, where he should have been 'somebody' a long time ago. But the reality is, his repeated pleas for well-deserved promotion are all ignored, and even his wife (Kelly Linch) left him with his daughter, to live with a most annoying guy, a third-rate stage actor. Moreover, Joe is publicly humiliated by one of his bullying co-workers on the parking lot, and to make matters much worse, his beloved daughter was watching the whole event. Distraught Joe refuses to work, but because of unexpected advice from kind-hearted Meg working for the same company (Julie Bowen, TV's "Ed"), Joe decides to do what he thinks he need to do -- that is, a return match with the guy who hit him in the face! As every critic all over the world has already pointed out, the film is all too predictable. So when you see the name of Greg Germann (TV "Ally Mc Beal"), you can guess how he is cast, and your guess would be 99% right. And as long as many gags thrown into the story are concerned, the film is too uninspired. While Tim Allen's trademark Mr. Everyman personality is displayed convincingly on the screen, it is the supporting players who provide the film's most funny things, especially Jim Belushi as a has-been B action star teaching Joe martial arts, who really resembles a certain action film star. But, unfortunately, if you're looking for some good laughs, you will be much disappointed. "Joe Somebody" is rather about the relations between Joe and Meg, and his daughter, and those engaging relations between them save the whole film from utter forgettableness. Thanks to Julie Bowen's honest and likable heroine, and Hayden Panettiere's incredibly skilled and lively acting as Joe's independent daughter, "Joe Somebody" barely remains a mildly interesting film. That means that you have to sit through all these familiar steps leading up to the inevitable conclusion, but when you see those female players on the way, you feel sympathy for them, and naturally for Joe, who looks otherwise a little insipid compared with them. So far, Tim Allen's best film is, in my book, definitely "Galaxy Quest" (if you don't count "Toy Story" and its sequel, of course). "Joe Somebody" belongs to "not-so-good" category of his films, but even so, it has some good things. But I think the film would be more likely to convert the audiences to fans of these talented females, rather than to Tim Allen fans, good as he is.

Summary: Makes light of bullying and manic depressive disese
Review: This film is simply awful. Anyone who has suffered through workplace bullying and a resulting manic-depressive episode knows it is never this easy - Joe declares himself cured based on one visit by the wellness supervisor. It is is so superificial as to be dangerous. I have not had an episode of depression in months but this movie almost got me there - I had to switch it off in the middle!

Summary: Very simple nice comedy.
Review: This is a very simple, but intelligent and nice comedy. There are no great happenings or surprises, but it is very up to date's movie.
All the actors do a very good job, and Julie Bowen, is beautiful. I hope we will see her again in the big screen, in my opinion, she has a lot of potential.

Tim Allen plays a divorced man who is humiliated in front of his daughter; he is slapped around like a Tanya Harding husband in the company parking lot. At first, the humiliation drives him into seclusion, but after a visit from the human resources lady he decides to tackle the situation head-on; he challenges his abuser to a second confrontation. The movie becomes even more hysterical when Jim Belushi steps in to help Tim Allen's character learn martial arts for the upcoming battle. I loved this movie, and you will love it too! Trust me. Summary: A hardy laugh with Tim Allen, a more mature, seasoned actor
Review: This movie is a pleasant, refreshing surprise. It's good to see Tim Allen again in a feature film, looking a little older, a little more seasoned and thoughtful in his acting. (He's also gotten pretty buff for the role too.) From the start, the musical score gave the gave the movie a sense of time and motion. Jim Belushi was classic in his smooth, no-nonsense way. Some of the interaction between him and Tim Allen was priceless footage. They worked off each other well. Julie Bowen 's role sort of hinted at the "ditzy blonde" initially, but then settled into a deeper character as the plot developed. Greg Germann was well-casted as her finkish boss. Wolfgang Bodison lit up the screen with his corporate look and new found friendship with the lead character. Patrick Warburton is one of my favorites anyway and its good to see him in more and more roles lately. The casting was a refreshing mix of personalities we haven't seen before and they played well together and shared the screen equitably. Their chemistry was palpable and very funny.
The look of the film was genuine, especially the corporate pharmaceutical world.
As for the story line and the comedy. I had some great laughs, good, hardy guffaws at some of the scenes. A few favorites to look for are the Target scene and the "squash" game. Very creative. Also loved the disclaimers mentioned on the pharmaceutical television ads. Some of the comedic timing was fantastic and well placed when the movie took a dramatic turn and threatened to get too serious.
The story left you feeling good and mindful about what it really means to be "Somebody". I like going to a movie, laughing hard, morally recharged, and leaving with some new joke material to tell people at the office.

Review: This movie is rated PG and should be PG-13. Would have been a great family movie and story without all the terrible language. I wish I knew how bad it was before I wasted my money on a movie my kids will never see again.

Review: Tim Allen gives a good spazaz to Joe in this movie that makes it funny. Jim Belushi is great as the person who trains Joe in the ways of self defense. cute and not so crude like most comedys which crudeness ans sickness makes it downfall, but y'all enjoy Allen. for fans of the tool man and Belushi

Summary: A great Tim Allen movie
Review: Tim Allen stars as Joe Scheffer, a divorced father, who's daughter witnesses him getting slapped around over a parking space. After questioning from the work psychologist, Joe decides what he wants. And that is to fight, in a rematch, the bully that beat him up for his parking spot. In going about this, Joe goes to a karate school where the instructer is Jim Belushi, who plays the part as a washed up actor and is now a karate instructor. After challenging for the rematch, Joe is now noticed among his co-workers and is becoming popular. Joe Somebody is a Tim Allen movie that should not be passed by. It will bring hours of laughter and will keep you laughing until the end!
