Summary: Thornton Did It...
Review: When I saw the previews, I thought that it looked good but figured that there would be no way that Thornton would be able to keep up the level of crotchitiness that they played in the previews...I was wrong. I was expecting a sappy ending...I was wrong. I was expecting redeeming character values...I was wrong. This movie was great. It's the first movie that doesn't sugar-coat/idealize Christmas and I appreciated that. Some of the comedy is a little bit forced, but, the whole movie stayed on the level that viewers took from the first 10 minutes...
DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS...They'll only serve as a guilt trip to every adult in the theater about actually enjoying this depiction of Santa...

Review: Eggnog. Cookies. A big fat turkey. A drunken Santa Clause?!? Yes!
Finally a movie that comes along that is so dirty, so crude, that you can't believe that it's a holiday flick! Thank you Billy Bob Thorton. I was never much on Christmas, I could really care less if Christmas even came. So what, I'm a Grinch, I know! I'm not into all them movies like Miracle on 34th Street or It's A Wonderful Life. Finally a movie that puts these movies in their place! Billy Bob Thorton stars as Willie, a mall Santa, who hates kids, loves booze, big women and robs malls after they close with a little help from his "midget" accomplice. The movie co-stars the late John Ritter and Bernie Mac.

Summary: "I can't 'hold my liquor?!' I weigh 96 lbs., motherf@#%r!"
Review: Ho-ho-hobo! Imagine if John Waters had directed "Miracle On 34th Street"-that's "Bad Santa" in a nutshell. Alcoholic Santa/department store safecracker Billy Bob Thornton stumbles, curses, and spews his way into your heart in this new holiday classic (for the truly demented). The formerly unknown Tony Cox steals all his scenes as Thornton's "elf"/fellow felon. As a former stand-up comic/comedy writer, it takes a lot to make me laugh so hard that I start to black out...but this film had me in that state for 100 minutes. I actually had to lean over and ask my friends if one of them knew CPR-just in case I suddenly collapsed. Beneath all the gut-busting black humor, however, I sensed a subtle message, which I suspect will become more apparent upon repeat viewings. Director Terry Zwigoff ("Crumb", "Ghostworld") again displays the obvious influence that 'underground' comics have had on his worldview. In his films, his protaganists have all been "outsiders" who are shunned and/or cruelly taunted by society (Comic book/music geeks, dwarves, alcoholics, fat kids, unconventional teenagers) but who are only seeking the same things in life as "normal" people-love and acceptance. In just three films to date, Zwigoff has shown us his ability to produce an insightful documentary, an entertaining adaptation of an underground comic and now a completely original black comedy. It will be interesting to see what he pulls out of his hat next!

Review: One of the vesy best comedies to hit the screen in many years.
This is indeed a classic picture that will become a cult favorite in years to come. I've seen this movie twice and
still can't wait to see it again.

Do yourself a favor and pre-order the DVD. It's not your normal
comedy, but you can't help laughing through the whole picture!

Summary: I'D WATCH IT EVERY DAY
Review: LETS JUST START OFF BY SAYING THAT IN NO WAY SHOULD THIS MOVIE BE SHOWN TO A YOUNG CHILD. I THOUGHT THE OPENING SCENE WAS THE BEST AND FROM THAT MOMENT ON, 2 THINGS HAPPENED. 1) I DIDN'T STOP LAUGHING. 2) THEY DIDN'T STOP SWEARING. THIS MOVIE IS A TREMENDOUSLY FUNNY, OBNOXIOUS, LAUGH TILL YOUR DEAD COMEDY AND I CAN'T WAIT TO BUY IT WHEN IT COMES OUT.

Summary: Bad Santa, Great Movie!
Review: I went to see "Bad Santa" with about seven people on Thanksgiving night. I figured that because it was a holiday, the theatre would be empty and it would be very easy to find a seat.I was wrong. Almost every seat was filled. We had to split up into three groups to find seats. But it made the movie much much more enjoyable to watch, because everybody in the theatre found it funny. Imagine every minute or so, a large group of people just burst out into laughter, for about 100 minutes. You just have to laugh, and everyody is enjoying the movie together. The second time I saw "Bad Santa" it was completly the opposite. There was nobody in the movie theatre, hardly anyone laughed, except the person I was with, this time just one. But many different atmospheres that control what makes a movie good or not. But I thought that "Bad Santa" was a brilliant piece of dark comedy. The story was so wierd and great and by the time you stop laughing from one joke, three or four more jokes just go by. And what is great is that all the characters were hilarious.

The movie is about Willie who is played by Billy Bob Thorton. Willie and his "elf" pal Marcus, pretend to be mall Santa's during the holiday season, and then on Christmas Eve when everybody leaves, they rob the store. Last Christmas Eve, Willie vows that he is out of the con, but this Christmas Eve he and Marcus take on Arizona where they are hired by the mall mananger Bob Chipeska. After the first meeting, Bob becomes concerned with the way that the two act, and he gets the store detective Gin to keep an eye on them. Willie also meets Sue( played by the beautiful Lauren Graham) in a bar, and finds out that she has a Santa fetish(she also has a phrase that she uses while she is with him, which I cannot repeat), but when Gin goes to Willie's living area, he goes to live with one of the malls visitors Thurman. Thurman is a little boy who is picked on alot, but believes that Willie is Santa, and who lives with his sleeping grandmother, while his mother is dead, and his father is in prison. As Marcus and Willie prepare for Christmas Eve, Willie lives with Thurman and his views on Christmas change for the better, as the bad Santa's heart begins to get good.

"Bad Santa" is ridden with non-stop strong profanity, drinking, crude crude humor, sex, and more strong profanity, but it's all for a reason. He's Bad Santa. People don't understand that the movie is supposed to be filled with all of that. They should have been prepared. But I would hate to see this movie are regular television when it is edited. It would be just awful.

The conversations between Willie and Thurman. When "About a Boy" came out, critics talked about the conversations between the man and the boy, and how they are smart, and funny. The conversations between Willie and Thurman can compare from the "About a Boy" conversations. They are one of the same. The main character is "About a Boy" gave advice to the boy somehow. Willie gives Thurman advice, except he uses the f-word many times, and tons of sex jokes. Listen to the two conversations and you'll see similarlities.

I don't think that they cursed to much in "Bad Santa." It was was perfect amount of this type of movie. The director of the movie was Terry Zwigof, who directed one of my favorite movies "Ghost World," and he doesn't fail to disappoint bringing this movie to the screen. "Bad Santa" is the second best film of the year.

ENJOY!

Rated R for pervasive language, strong sexual content and some violence.

Summary: Love it Or Hate It
Review: It's simple, you're going to love it or hate it. I went with my best friend and our jaws dropped quite a bit in the first 5-10 minutes, but then we loosened up and couldn't stop laughing. Not for the faint of heart. If you can relax and enjoy a holiday guilty pleasure, you'll love it. Dont take anyone under 15
