Summary: Mel...What's the Point?
Review: ...the same premise was explored in the Landis/Ackroyd/Murphy piece "Trading Places" and that was hilarious. The Brooksian brand of humour was not working here because as the moovy went on
to things like being mugged and having shoes taken, they just could not be done funny...or at least not Mel Brooks funny. To the moovy's credit, it got Lesley Ann Warren in a bag lady drag that is quite funny at times, and touching at other times. (Elaine May could have gotten away with that role, not to take anything away from Lesley, though).

Summary: ONE FUNNY SCENE--THAT'S IT
Review: I am pleased that with the Broadway production of "The Producers", Mel Brooks is getting the recognition he deserves for his earlier works. However, this flick is mainly forgettable, along with everything else for the last twenty years.

This movie is a rip-off of 1983's "Trading Places", just as Brooks' "To Be Or Not To Be" was a rip-off of its original.

There is, however, one very funny scence where he gets into a slap fight. I had tears rolling down from laughing so hard.

So, after 1980's "History Of The World", which was ok, you had "To Be.....", the fogettable "Spaceballs" and this one. The spark had been gone a long time

Review: I just had to write a review to bring the ranking down a little bit. This movie is quite simply not funny. Mel Brooks is trying to make some profound social statement which makes for really bad comedy. The social statement is so cliche that it was the only part of the movie that made me laugh.

After that the pie came out of his dream, woke him up in real life, attacked him,and then killed him. Then his dead spirit which makes know sense because he's already dead sinks into the ground. Then the pie shoots it's self.

Summary: This Movie is Funny!!!!!
Review: Life Stinks is an amazingly funny comedy and one of Mel Brooks' best. He is a comedic genius! I laughed my head off after watching it the first time and decided to buy it. I highly reccomend it to those who are ready to laugh!

Summary: Irrelevant and not funny
Review: Life Stinks was the first real stinker in Mel Brooks' catalog (and unfortunately it wasn't the last.) I think Brooks had by this time exhausted all the potential for his type of humor.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Moving and Hilarious
Review: Mel Brooks is the greatest filmaker of all time. He's hilarious. LIFE STINKS is a charming, touching, warm, funny movie. I can't say enough good things about it. It's unlike any other movie because its daring and true. This movie is not fake. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND it!
