Rating: Summary: It is so bad it is just bad. Review: This movie tries so hard to be outrageous and funny, it is just bad. I usually enjoy raunchy humor (ex.There's Something about Mary, American Pie) but this was just stupid. Occasionally it might make you smile a little and leads you to believe it may get better, but it never does. It just doesn't work and they try to throw in so many wild scenes that it just pulls you out of the movie. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because I did somewhat enjoy a couple of scenes and it had somewhat of a plot-although it did veer from it quite often. I would definately recommend not spending any money on this movie. If you want to see it borrow it from someone or check your cable stations.
Rating: Summary: America's affair with ditzy women continues Review: This movie is Cosmopolitan's confessions column in a movie. Three Fun, Fearless females and their encounters with men. The first (Cameron) is a giggly blonde in the Legally Blonde mould who plays games with men so as to not make herself "vulnerable". The second (Christina) is the surgically enhanced brunette best friend who apparently doesn't have sex with the men she likes as evidenced by the doctor right at the end whom she genuinely cares for. Selma Blair who starts off as a recently dumped woman, has outlandish sexual accidents involving having appendages stuck in her throat, stains on her dresses and nearly being caught `in the act' by her boss. Cameron meets a guy in a club and chases him to Somerset with her best friend, only to discover he is getting married to a rather nervous woman. On the way, they get hit in the eye by a...well by looking into a glory hole, fake receieving oral pleasure, undress in the highway, by their car, complain about sagging boobs and batwings. In short, everything Cosmo writes about. What do these women do? Do they work? How did they get leave so easily in today's economy? Why do they scream so much? And why does every cheesy chick flick have to have a psuedo photoshoot with their heroines doing dress changes. If you don't itch to slap Cameron's smile off her face midway through the movie, you are more tolerant than I am. Christina however, totally steals the show as the superficial, well meaning babe who wants her buddy to take a chance for once. If you truly believe Cosmo is the bible, watch this one. If conversely, you respect yourself a little more than that, avoid this one.

Rating: Summary: Raunchy Laughfest Review: "The Sweetest Thing" is one of those movies that has a plot, but doesn't really need one because it relys on raunchy humor, sexual stereotypes and a little silliness to entertain its viewers. That isn't a bad thing. This was a very funny film that gave the girls a chance to do to the boys what the boys usually do to them in the movies. Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate turn in solid performances. Selma Blair and Thomas Jane also do a fine job. I won't get into any deep discussion of a plot with this movie because it's nothing but fun. Watch it only to laugh. Sometimes it does get a little too silly. Perhaps I'm a little bit uptight, but I felt that the "movie montage" sequence went a little bit long. Other than that, this movie is full of laugh-out-loud fun. Jason Bateman's rendering of "Eternal Flame" is of near-classic status. Three stars isn't a bad rating in my book. I just don't feel justified in giving more than three stars for the simple fact that this movie does get a little out of whack at times and it doesn't really have any stand out quality to it. It's a slightly above average comedy that relies on potty, sophomoric humor. Don't get me wrong, potty, sophomoric humor is really good when executed correctly. I just think that this particular film tried a little too hard at times to be funny. Buy it, watch it with a little alcohol in your system, and you will not be dissatisfied.
Rating: Summary: Awesome movie: American Pie with hot girls Review: I just got this DVD because I was a fan of Selma Blair, and I was expecting a pretty standard chick flick. Man, was I wrong! I should have seen the trailer first. This is the one of the rauchiest, absolutely DIRTIEST movies I have ever seen, and I love it! It's like American Pie except even better, because the main characters are these gorgeous women out to tear down the house. The humour is PERFECT; the director really knows exactly how far to push things for maximum comedic effect. And, unlike movies like "Not Another Teen Movie" (which was great, but really went too far at times) this movie is consistently funny in a raunchy way, but never "funny in a disgusting" way. The gags are very clever, and would almost be "elegantly" written if they weren't so lewd. I think this is a great movie for both guys and girls, as long as you're cool with some bawdy good fun. The female audience will appreciate the girl power undertone, whilst guys will love all the dirty situations these very hot women get into. And my sweetheart Selma is fantastic, even better than she was in Cruel Intentions. She's..."hilariously sexy", I guess is how I would describe her. Just delectable. Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate are also a riot. And yes, it is true what you've heard from other reviewers about the infamous "Chinese Restuarant Song" scene, it's one of the most absurd and funniest scenes in all of motion picture, right up there with the "Webcam" scene in American Pie I. I could NOT get up from the floor. Then there's the perhaps even more infamous "Emergency in Apartment 3" scene. You gotta see it to believe it. This movie is absolutely scandalous! Oh yeah, get the unrated version, or don't get it at all!
Rating: Summary: The Sweetest Movie!! Review: This comedy is an arobic workout, it so hilarious! Although, a little bit of sexual humor, this is still a great movie. The movie stars Chistina Aplegate and Cameron Diaz. The HBO sit-com type of humor, these girls play off each other so well.At times you wonder it is what you are hearing and seeing. There is NO nudity, but still enough for you to look twice. There is one scene where the girls are in the San Francisco restraunt and the start to sing about the...uh...wel.....an important part of male anattomy... I'll put it that way.If you get my drift. I had had tears running down my face. If want a girl road trip type of movie, then I strongly suggest this movie. It is well endowed in entertainment.
Rating: Summary: The Sweetest Thing (Unrated Version) Review: This is not a movie you want to watch if you are expecting an intellectually stimulating movie...this is a movie you watch with your girlfriends when all you want to do is have fun. A total "chick flick", not because of a sappy love story or anything like that, but because this movie shows three women having fun with men and not being serious. The unrated version is the one to buy because of "The Penis Song"...you can't expect a serious movie when you have a song like that in it, come on. The song is one of the most hilarious parts of the movie and should not been seen without it. Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate are great in it, and Selma Blair is ok...I don't really like her. This is a great movie to get when you are just chillin' with your friends and want to watch a movie that is really funny.
Rating: Summary: Don't listen to critics Review: Finally a movie where the girls let loose and act like girls! I don't care how tasteless the critics think this movie is, I laughed until my sides hurt as I recognized my girlfriends and me over and over again. The most unique thing about this DVD is that you get to watch the movie listening to the cast watching it and you get to know what they think about the movie, their performances, and each other. You get to hear some really crazy stuff, but warning: this movie, and DVD extras, are not for the uptight!
