Summary: "Multiple" late success for director Ramis
Review: "Multiplicity" director, Harold Ramis, has been on a roll since "Groundhog Day" and validated his directing/writing maturity with "Analyze This". However, in his earlier films I always felt he was mediocre, at best, as an actor. As a director and writer he pandered to the masses with slap-stick, debase humor and trite "Hollywood" creativity. "Caddyshack" was easily his best early work, and I believe it has been mostly over-rated by generational bias.Inbetween Ramis' successes with "Groundhog Day" and "Analyze This" is this very funny film about an over-worked, under-appreciated family man, Doug (Micheal Keaton), who is at his wits end for a solution to his troubles. Per chance, his frustration climaxes and is witnessed while supervising a job at the facility where cloning attempts have succeeded. The doctor believes Doug is the perfect client for a human test. As the first successful clone doesn't solve all his problems, Doug makes another. The two clones feel the need to have their own "solution" and make a copy of a copy,... which, of course, is not as good as the original. No problems are really solved and now Doug has a bigger mess on his hand than he realizes. The way he cleans it up results in the more hilarious scenes, as well as a very human quality that most comedies never involve. The way each clone gravitates to one of Doug's basic personalities and proceed to interact said a lot to me about how each of us can deal with our own under-appreciated, time-deprivated lives. Some reviews suggest this movie is not all it could have been. I can't imagine how it could be diferent. This is a comedy and it will succeed at making you laugh. The story and content is a bit deeper than the average comedy so it has dramatic tones here and there, but never without Keaton's trademark goofiness. To me, that is a credit to the prgress Ramis has made in directing and writing comdies. He no longer needs fraternity losers screwing, drinking and puking in order to make a funny film. With minimal guidance on a couple situational scenes, your kids can watch this free of poor language and nudity. To change anything in this movie would leave it less funny, too dramatic, or both. It is perfect the way it is - clean, simple, funny and endearing.

Summary: 4 Michael Keaton's Can't Save This Garbage
Review: "Multiplicity" is an extremely uninteresting, flat, and unfunny bunch of jibberish. This movie is made so that it couldn't possibly be exciting or fun to watch; it was made in a very quiet state, with camera angle problems also. Put plain and simple, the jokes are not funny. E.G: Michael Keaton1: I'm not the clone. I'm me. Michael Keaton2: No, you're wrong. Doc, help me out here, you know I'm me. Cloning is an interesting possibility and it's purpose is completely wasted in this. It shows Michael Keaton being able to spend time with his family and try to hide it from his wife. Isn't it cute when Michael Keaton impresses his wife with his uncanny knowledge of how to wrap a sandwich in aluminum foil? It really isn't funny at all, and it shows one Michael at work, two of them watching tv at home, and a retarded one shaving his tongue. And Andie McDowell plays stupid in this. It is so obvious throughout the movie that there are more than one of him and he didn't hide it from her well at all. In one scene, two of him wave to his wife and, in another, he magically changes his clothes in 3 seconds. What happened to Harold Ramis? He had been making good movies like "Ghostbusters", and now he is making some bad mistakes like "Multiplicity" and "Analyze This". THIS MOVIE IS VERRRRRRRRRY BAD!

Summary: Michael Keaton proves his versitility - LOVED IT!!!
Review: a great movie must be so enjoyable that you can watch it over and over again. Plus, favorite one-liners from the movie, if it is excellent, will find their way into your everyday conversation. This has a LOT of great lines: among my favorites are: "So much for rule number one." AND "She says ya' don't fix stuff, Steve." Only another multiplicity fan will know and fully appreciate those. I love the loser who's watch is never set right causing him to be late for construction jobs. He's just a screw-up in general. I LOVE the scene where Doug #1 comes over to the garage apartment to find Doug's #2 & #3 dancing with girls they picked up, who, incidently think their names are "Lance & Rico." Also the scene in the kitchen where Doug #3 is showing his wife (andie McDowell) how to properly wrap food. "Wrap, tuck, tuck, wrap - I just think of Elizabeth Taylor." Maybe I'm just a hopeless Keaton fan but this is just a wonderful funny, even romantic movie.

Review: Almost in everything, I love seeing the characters Michael Keaton
plays. This flick offered a lot of possibilities in previews. But, IMHO, it ran off-track, short-of-expectations, and just plain too short in general. It was interesting to see cloning
as a comedic issue. Yet, this is not the best of M. Keaton.

Review: I love this movie. It's absolutely hilarious- a great romantic comedy. Who hasn't wondered what it would be like to be able to be in two-or three- places at once? What starts off as a good idea quickly turns into a comedy of errors. Michael Keaton is brilliant in this offbeat comedy.

Review: I love this one!!! Michael Keaton is hilarious in this wonderful movie about cloning. He clones himself once, so he can have more time for his wife and children by sending his first clone (named "1") to perform his construction job. Then he clones himself again, so he can have more quality time with his children - instead of doing all the daily chores (cooking, cleaning, bathing the kids, running errands, etc, etc.) Then ultimately the clones perform one more clone from one of the clones and creates a "special" clone to perform some of the duties they didn't have time for. Ultimately Keaton's character and clones realize that quality time is doing the daily chores life requires. The more clones, or help, a person has... doesn't get them any closer to their goal. Each clone is different, as they are an exaggerated version of their cloned purpose... "1" is exceptional in business (the reason he was cloned), "2" is very domestic (as he was cloned to take care of the cooking and cleaning), and "3" is a clone from a clone... so he turns out "mentally challenged." This movie is very funny, and carries a strong moral within a highly entertaining storyline.

Summary: Wonderful lighthearted comedy
Review: I loved this movie.I watched it at the cinema at first with pretty low expectations after reading reviews which said the film was very mediocre.You must have a sense of humour or be in the mood for a laugh to appreciate it.I agree there are some classic one liners,such as "I like pitha!" and "She touched my pepe steve!"Well done to Keaton for playing such a wide variety in personalities.I have watched the film at least five times and still find it hilarious.
