Rating: Summary: A movie with charming actors Review: "Win A Date With Tad Hamilton" is one of those movies that one should see to enjoy charming and warm performances rather than a interesting storyline or revelations of deep emotional truths. It's abundantly clear that this film is a rehash of countless other romantic comedies with all the same twist and turns. The performances by the Josh Duhamel, Topher Grace, and Kate Bosworth, however, make the films predictability enjoyable. Both Duhamel and Grace have an easy charm and warmth that make their characters appealing for audience memebers. The real standout here, however, has to be with a doubt Kate Bosworth. In my opinion she is perhaps one of the best looking actresses on film, period. With her wholesome all-American looks audiences can't help but melt from her beaming smile and flawless complexion. Bosworth has a screen presence and charisma that lifts what is a essentially a mediocre story to a warm treat.
Rating: Summary: SOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD! Review: OK so you could predict that the girl would end up with the geeky guy because he loves her and she hasn't realized it yet but when she realizes Tad Hamilton is really not who she thinks he is, she'll go running back to Pete. But the beauty of this movie was the way it was presented. I didn't really believe that Rosie had loved Pete all her life until she talked about his five smiles and how when you love someone you know all their details that make them unique. That sealed it for me. It was a really good movie with lots of laughs (not too much but just the right amount). Great movie to go see with your girls or even on a date. This movie isn't overly mussy and sappy. Even a guy can enjoy it! :-)
Rating: Summary: Adorable Review: This movie was far fetched, but adorable. Two hunkalicious actors contribute to this movie leaving girls awwing. A young perky blonde admires over a famous hottsy tottsy actor detailing his every most when she comes to a website. The website allows you to donate money to help the kids, and win the chance of a date with Tad Hamilton. The blonde raises money at the Piggly Wiggly she works at and gains enough money. Pete is the manager who's already got an eye on "her" He's obsainly jealous of Tad when she wins the date. He says, "Guard your cardinal treasure" and hands her with a box of Pringled. Pete is the lonely sad guy, but the end is ever satisfying and quite predictable. Cute, but not if you are a guy.
Rating: Summary: Cute and fun with an old touch Review: I saw this movie in theaters with some friends and I came out having watched one of the cutest love stories of the year so far. Although it is very predictable and tells a story I swear has been told before, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton is a really sweet love story about Rosalee, a single, small-town girl, who, along with her best friend/co-worker, dreams of meeting the hottest celebrity at the time, Tad Hamilton. While surfing the internet on break she discovers a pop-up--"Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!" But, of course, the movie wouldn't go on without some sort of conflict, so into the scene enters Pete, Rosalee's boss at the grocery store where she works, who just doesn't know how to ask out the girl he wants. Before she knows it, Rosalee is caught in what she thinks is love with Tad, but it will take a REALLY good friend (be it a newly met celebrity, a best friend [who is equally obsessed], or a boy she's known for a very long time) to tell her the point she's really missing. This movie is great, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
Rating: Summary: A pleasant little romantic comedy Review: Win a date with Tad Hamiltion! is a fun and well acted romantic comedy. Kate Bosworth stars as Rosalee, a grocery store clerke who wins a date with a big movie star that she has a huge crush on. Topher Grace (That 70's Show, Traffic) plays her friend Pete who secretly loves her. So when she not only goes on a date with Tad but falls for him hard, Pete is jealous and trys to compete with Tad to win Rosalee over. Win a Date would probably have starred Molly Winwald as Rosalee, Anthony Michael Hall as Pete and Matt Dillion as Tad Hamilton and directed by John Hughes if it was made in the 80's. I only say this because it really reminds me of the type of movie Hughes would've made in the 80's. It's nice though to have a movie like this now. It's well acted, has heart and you can never really predict whar kind of guy Tad is. Does he really have a thing for her or is he using her to heighten his career ? I wouldn't mind seeing Topher Grace in more movies. He has more charm and talent than fellow That 70's star Ashton Kutchner who gets more work.
Rating: Summary: I just watched this boring movie. Review: This movie was pretty lame. I gave it 1 star but it actually doesn't deserve that!!! It was drawn out, stupid and (yawn) boring!!! Thank god it was just a rental and not a purchase. I will say that Toby from "that 70's show" was pretty good. and the guy who played Tad was very good looking but that's about it... kate was very average. kinda like another kate (Hudson) who is so over rated too. Oh and look for the guy who plays Tad on a show called "Vegas" on NBC. That is where I remembered seeing him before this movie. At least on that show he isn't just a pretty boy, he actually acts too. (lol)
Rating: Summary: Breathless Review: We should give this teenager movie the benefit of a doubt. All of you would have read the storyline by now and believe you me, this movie is surprisingly entertaining and good. All those actors & actresses here are so relaxed and comfortable with their roles and with appearances by Sean Hayes (Will & Grace), Nathan Lane (Lion King, the Producer), Gary Cole to provide comical relief, this movie is light but good akin to a wholesome salad. The message from the movie is simply this: follow your heart. If you love someone so much, go with your feeling. As one character in the movie said simply: once I filed for my job application, I got luckier in getting the job. If you have a dream, pursue it. It's better to break your heart, with all knowing that you have tried your best rather than mumbling to yourself forever, I wish....Don't wish, just do it!
Rating: Summary: So cute Review: This movie was so adorable...and the actors were so good. its worth it to see it.
Rating: Summary: Is it so wrong to like this movie? Review: DO NOT rent this movie if you're looking for a masterpiece or any sort of interesting plot twists. DO, however, rent this movie if you're looking for something, well, sweet. The plot is relatively entertaining, and the characters are rather endearing, not to mention easy on the eyes.
Rating: Summary: Worth it for Topher Grace Review: I'm not going to lie -- this movie would not have been half as enjoyable for me if it weren't for the presence of Topher Grace. It's very predictable, some of the dialogue is tired, and it's not very thought-provoking. But because of Topher Grace (and really Kate Bosworth and Josh Duhamel as well) it ended up being a decent movie. Rosie Futch (Kate Bosworth) and her best friend Cathy (Ginnifer Goodwin) are clerks at the local Piggly Wiggly in their small West Virginia town. For fun, they go to the local movie theater to see all of the latest movies starring movie star Tad Hamilton (Josh Duhamel). Their friend and boss, Pete (Topher Grace), always reluctantly accompanies them. He mainly does this because, as we figure out fairly quickly, he's been in love with Rosie for forever. When Rosie wins a contest and gets to go on a date with Tad Hamilton, they hit it off and he follows her back to her small town home, much to Pete's dismay. I'm not going to reveal any more of the plot, but you'll probably figure it all out ten minutes into the movie anyways. Kate Bosworth has an inherent sweetness to her that makes you like her character. Josh Duhamel pulls off the role of the movie star in an appealing, and sometimes comical ("Rosie! I bought a house! I bought a house!") way. But the real draw is Topher Grace. Although his character here is very similar to Eric on "That 70s Show" (causing some critics to doubt his range) he plays it very well. There is a very funny line in which he threatens to tear Tad apart with his bare hands or his vicious rhetoric, and that one line convinces you of his talent (even my dad laughed). All in all, if you just want to be entertained for an hour and a half, "Tad Hamilton" is a good movie for you. If you're looking for a "great" movie, don't watch this.
