Summary: "I laughed 'till I cried..."
Review: "Easy Money" is one of those rare films you can watch over and over again. Rodney Dangerfield is in top form here, aided by his sidekick, a young Joe Pesci. See them smoke, drink, do drugs, and smash the wedding cake; all in the first 1/2 hour! It gets better... Monty (Dangerfield) must give up his vices in order to inherit a large sum of money from his dead(?) mother-in-law. What follows is, well, for lack of a better word... hilarious! As a film student, I shouldn't like movies like this... but "Easy Money" is definitely one of the best comedies I have ever seen (9 times, now).

Summary: Rodney!
Review: Almost as good his performance in Caddyshack, Rodney is at his best, balanced out by Joe Pesce and a great cast. Funny Stuff!

Summary: DANGERFIELD AT HIS VERY BEST!!!
Review: Caddyshack not withstanding, I have always thought that "Easy Money" was Rodney Dangerfields funniest movie. Rodney plays Monty, a family man living in suburban New York.

He's a baby photographer who drinks, smokes, gambles, and eats too much. His best friend is Nicky, played hilariously by Joe Pesci. Monty's wife is the daughter of a wealthy shopping mall owner. When her mother dies in a tragic plane crash, Monty stands to inherit millions...But ONLY if he can give up smoking, drinking, gambling and lose weight for one year.

Prior to this is an outrageous night on the town the night before his daughters wedding. The next day at church, the hung over Monty has no water to take his asprin..until he spies the holy water and scoops a handful out!

After getting the news of his inheritance terms, Monty now has to struggle giving up his vices, while being constantly surrounded by temptations. Most of the temptations come via his scheming brother in law played by Jeffrey Jones who inherits the money if Monty fails.

Hilarious scenes where Monty and his friends go the the race track and Nicky attacks a jockey who threw a race...Later nicky and Monty drive all over town, drunk and trying to find a place to eat. They pull up to a place as they are just closing, with a sign saying "open 23 hours".

Later Nicky and Monty go to the mall that he will inherit and generally harass the prim and proper employees and customers. Very funny movie. Too bad there's nothing in the way of special features. Vastly underrated. One of the great comedies of the 1980's.

The only weak part of the film is the sub-plot of Monte's daughter played by Jennifer Jason Leigh's marriage and separation to Julio. That kind of bogged down the comedy at times.

Review: Forget everything after this, If you like Rodney Dangerfield this is the only movie you need to own it gets funnier evrytime you see it. Rodney and Joe Pesci are hilarious as the try to keep Rodney on the straight and narrow so he doesn't lose his inheritance. The Movie started the "Regular Guy Look" if you've seen this film you know what it is if you don't, check it out and you will be sporting that look. Excellent performances all around.

Summary: Can I Call You Dad?
Review: Hilarious Rodney Dangerfield film with a great plot & situations, classic lines, and Joe Pesci! Rodney plays Monty, a "family man" and baby photographer in Staten Island, NY whose mother-in-law has passed away. In her will she has left Monty millions of dollars if he can give up all vices (smoking, drinking, gambling, carousing, overeating)for one year. Rodney's not all that bad. He loves his family and most of all, loves children..hence his profession. How he handles children while he works is evident in the opening of the film which is very touching. The plot revolves around Monty trying give up his temptations and he is helped by his family in various ways and by his good friend Nicky (a hilarious Joe Pesci). In the meantime, Clive (Jeffrey Jones) an associate of Monty's mother-in-law is trying in every way to stop Monty from gaining that inheritance by underhandedly tempting him in various ways. Also, there is a subplot of his daughter,Allison (Jennifer Jason Leigh-FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH), upcoming marriage to Julio (Taylor Negron - THE LAST BOYSCOUT). Most ot the scenes are tailored for Dangerfield's one-liners and his misadventures with Pesci. Also, there is a hilarious segment where Monty develops a new fashion look called the "Regular Guy Look" based on bowling shirts and baggy polyester pants. There are a few tender moments showing that Dangerfield has a little depth beneath the patter and works well in the film. Overall, a very entertaining film with funny characters, decent and funny story , script and a great title song written and performed by Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer, Billy Joel from his "Innocent Man" album dedicated to the 60's soul sound. Note / Classic Line: Monty(Dangerfield) - "My Mother-In-Law...All those years I wouldn't kiss her on the face, and I end up kissing her ---!"
