Summary: It's what comedy should be... funny
Review: If that seems too obvious just suffice it to say that many of the comedies made are more stupid than they are funny. There's certainly a difference and this film get's it right.

One of my favorite scenes is when their car breaks down the two star crossed lovers set out across the California countryside where Miss Foreman parodies the finest of gentile ladies from souther aristocracy while mocking her intended. Also the scene where the manager of a rock star comes to pay tribute to Casey (Foreman) for handling his client. And the list goes on and on.

The old guys are cantankerous, the situations are histerical, and the performances are marvelous.

It's unfortunate that a film such as this never received the acclaim that I feel is it's due.

Summary: A Classic, Funny 80's Romantic Comedy
Review: My Chauffeur is a classic 80's romantic comedy. Deborah Foreman as Casey Meadows is quirky, cute and lovable. Sam Jones as "Battle" is the ultimate rich brute, until Casey's cuteness and lovability break him down. This is a cute movie that people still talk about today. Worth checking out.

Summary: Deborah Foreman shines and this movie rocks!
Review: My Chauffeur is one of those rare mid eighties classy movies. It didn't have huge box office success, but the film has become a cult classic. Deborah Foreman stars as Casey Meadows, a quirky twentysomething who decides to quit her restaraunt job and become a limo driver for Brentwood Limosines. They aren't ready for her wild clothes and wild hair-oh yeah and the fact that she is the first woman to work for the company. Casey goes on one adventure after another, nearly losing her job each time until she finds true love with Battle-a rich heir who initially treats her like a jerk. This movie also includes an early appearance by comedians Penn & Teller. A must have for your DVD collection.

Summary: Cult Classic!
Review: Sleek cars, stuffy old men, and a Madonna-esque, high spirited girl are the ingredients of this 1980's comedy that has since reached cult status deservingly. Cult actress Deborah Foreman, star of such films as Valley Girl, April Fool's Day, Waxwork, and Lobster Man From Mars gives her best performance yet, defying all other mainstream 80's starlets such as Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy. The plot centers around Foreman's character Casey Meadows, who has just been hired for a position as a chauffeur at the elite Brentwood Limiousines Ltd. Casey is not welcomed by her new colleagues, mainly because she happens to be the only female working there. Can Casey prove them wrong and save her job? The film takes us on a journey through all of Casey's driving escapades, which include a feisty punk star, an Arabian prince, and ultimately, the son of the owner of Brentwood, where the climax of the film begins. When I watched this movie for the first time, it reminded me of other 80's flicks like Mannequin and Maid to Order. This film surpasses those though, mixing elements of 1930's screwball comedy and Valley Girl style. After this film being virtually unavailable for years, Rhino productions has kindly re-released it on VHS and DVD. If you dont posess a liking for 80's films in general, you most likely will not enjoy this film, but if you have an open mind and a love for campy 80's pop culture, then you will no doubt love this film.

Summary: Enjoyable light fluff but the DVD has few extras.
Review: The dvd is from Rhino and is full screen/standard which is a shame since there are a few scenes which would have benefited from the widescreen format for example, Battle's drunken escapade in the park.
There are no subtitles or closed captioning.
There is a cast list with a brief biography and filmography for
the main actors. There is also a slide show with stills from the movie. There is no theatrical trailer.
Not worth the money for just the movie and very little else.
