Review: This is a great movie because any guy who watches it can totally relate. Vince Vaughn is hilarious and the overall mood of the flick is both satisfying and uplifting. And to think they did all this with a 150,000 dollar budget. This is a must for any collection.

Summary: Best DVD I've Seen Thus Far
Review: This review is basically for the DVD, not the movie. I love the movie and would give it 5 stars, but I'm sure most of you who are reading this have either seen the movie or have read what it's about. Therefore, I'm just giving you the lowdown on whether or not to drop [the money down for] the Collector's Edition DVD. The answer is YES. This DVD is packed with extras - two great audio commentaries (one by Vaughn and Favreau; one by the director and producer), four short featurettes about the writing, making-of, and post-"Swingers" aftermath, a humourous parody of "Slingblade" meets "Swingers," and other cool little things. If you're a fan of the movie, DEFINITELY buy this. If you've never seen it and are thinking of getting it cos' you like what you've heard of it, I don't think you can go wrong with buying the Collector's Edition.

Review: Ok so this movie rocks. You already know that. I won't bore you with that. Let's get onto what you really want to know. The extras on this disc are... home made. Seriously. It seems like Jon and Vince thought it'd be a good idea to just make their own dvd and setup a cheap sanyo hi-8 camera (used) in their living room. No, scratch that, their mom's living room. Don't bother with the lighting or framing, let's get this thing down fast.... odd. Other than that the extra stuff is interesting. They seem to have written it from their real life experiences, which is a good thing, but it tends to make me wonder whether it's the only good film they've got in them. That being said: Swingers as a movie is still on my top 10 all time. Ha-ha haaaa!!!

Summary: The Rules of Nightlife
Review: A young comedian arrives in Los Angeles and is trying to find his big break. Oddly enough, he goes there to get over the big break with his girlfriend back home. How can he do it alone? He won't because he has his friends to guide him through the world of nightlife and women. We never see him trying for a part. The focus of the film is his trying to find love again. Whenever he comes close, he begins to pine for his lost love. His friends will try to get him to understand the rules of the game so that he can move forward with his life. His success is based on his understanding of whom he should listen to. John Favreau does a great job with this film as an actor and the writer. The movie is funny, and I found the movie funnier the second time I watched it. Watching the characters move precisely by some imaginary script to proper nightlife etiquette is hilarious. I would recommend watching this film.

Summary: The Ultimate advice about meeting women movie
Review: They could package this movie as a self-help movie to lonely guys on how to meet women. It is the best movie that I have ever seen in showing what to do and what not to do, when looking to score with women. Vaughn is the perfect Don Juan and Favreau is the perfect chump in this one. What man dosent wince when watching the scene where Favreau talks to the girls answering machine? Yeah, we've all been there. Study this movie and have more success with the opposite sex. Guaranteed.

Summary: Intelligent,Funny,Hip,Sexy
Review: Swingers is one of those movies that just seems to strike a cord with everyone. No matter who you are or where you from, you can probably relate to these charecters. The movie itself is about five young, aspiring actors who are trying to make it out in Hollywood. The main charecter(played by Favreau)recently moved out onto the west coast and seems to be having a hard time dealing with the fact he just can't get a decent job in show buisness. Not only that he just broke up with his girlfriend back in New York and that doesn't help matters much either. Bring in his friend Trent(Vaughn)to get him out on the town to help him get on with his life and you have a movie about the adventures of five 20 something guys in Los Angeles. Definitly an anti-MTV generation type movie, this movie really exposes the complications between relationships not only between lovers, but between friends. It showcases the short lived swing craze of the middle 90's that has died way too fast. Also a diverse soundtrack including Big Bad voodoo Daddies, George Jones and Bobby Darin. You'll probably find the special edition DVD is chocked full of fun extras including two commentaries in which hardcore fans of Swingers have been watering at the mouth for what seems like an eternity.

Summary: Beautiful babies...
Review: Easily one of my favorite movies of all time (prolly in my personal top 3), "Swingers" is a must-see for any male, period. For any female too, for that matter. With unceasingly witty banter and easily relatable situations, how can you go wrong.
For guys, this is finally a movie that would serve as the male-equivalent to a "chick-flick" in showing the rules on dating. No movie before has done this so well, and I doubt any movie after it would provide the dead-on accuracy portrayed so masterfully and comedically here.
For the ladies, here is the perfect movie to see the male prospective on dating as well as what goes on in our vast minds. And I know plenty of women who'd drool over Vince Vaughn, so here you go.
What I found so amazing is the fact that each of these characters can be likened to any group of friends in reality, with Mikey (John Favreau) being the underconfident nice guy who gets turned down repeatedly for being a nice guy, Trent (Vaughn), the player who gets the ladies at the drop of a hat, and Rob (Ron Livingston) and Sue (Patrick van Horn) as the "wing-men" who (almost) always have your back.
So if you're looking for the best comedy of the 90's with catch phrases that will last through the new millenium, pick this one up, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Summary: Incorrect "Extras" Info On Packaging - Still A Great DVD
Review: ...Most of the problems lie in the "Cutting Room Floor" section listed on the back of the DVD. There is no "outtakes reel" unfortunately. This was one of the extras I was looking forward to the most, but it is nowhere to be found. There is no director's introduction to the scenes as promised, and the "golfers" scene is not on the DVD either. However, some scenes that aren't listed on back are inside - The scene where Mike is telling his friend about how the coolest clubs are the hardest to find, the scene where they all play video-game hockey and the scene where Trent tells the girls from Vegas his audition story in the trailer. "The Kiss" (an alternate take of Heather Graham and Jon Favreau where they kiss instead of just say goodbye) and "Drunken Diners" (the scene at the end where Trent and his friend are drunk at the diner congratulating Mike on his success with Heather Graham) are included, as stated on the packaging. The only other problem with the DVD is navigating the Scene Selection menu. The scenes are divided into 4 per screen and the middle two on each menu (2,3/6,7 etc) work fine (a little martini glass logo appears on each), but the first and last (1,4/5,8 etc) in each screen don't show anything. It's easy enough to get past this - if you want to go to a scene that can't be highlighted just highlight one of the middle two, then click back to the one you want to make sure when you press enter you will go to the right scene. Be careful, though, because if you ever press up or down on one of these screens you won't be able to do anything except press enter which just returns you to the main menu again. Other than these oddities the DVD is very nicely done. The brightly colored and cleverly themed menus (the scenes in the scene selections menu are "labels" on liquor bottles at a bar) are a nice touch and the movie itself looks and sounds great (especially the music). The "Swing Blade" spoof is ok, but not really that funny. The deleted scenes are interesting because they show how the actors involved subtlely improvised the direction the scenes took and had to stay on the ball when someone else did something different (check out the trailer scene and watch Mike in the background). Also, some are totally different than what's in the final film ("The Kiss" and the hard-to-find-club scenes in particular). The commentaries are terrific, as well as the feature about the making of the movie. So don't let the slight misinformation on the back of the DVD stop you from buying this great treatment of a great film. ...
