Review: Let's cut to the chase - this one has B-movie written all over it. Any pretensions to greatness are wasted. That said, I LIKE IT. I'd be lying if I said I didn't appreciate Elvira's assets, but the funny thing is that my wife is the real fan of this movie. The irony is that it is just bad enough to be good, but not bad enough to be great. With all of it's 'Elvira' style cutesie innuendo and simple story line, I rank it well up the list of slumber party entertainment, right next to Grease (especially around Halloween). P-)

Summary: ELVIRA MARRY ME!
Review: Simply put bl**dy marvelous! Its got everything - a punk pooch, gothic horror campness, jokes-a-plenty and of course the ever gorgeous Cassandra Peterson. Theres no point going deep into the plot - that would spoil the fun but basically Elvira settles into a small town environment and all hell breaks loose. Strangely for an Anchor Bay DVD their are few extras but its a clean transfer and worth anyones pennies. Wait for the Howard the Duck joke - I was on the floor. BUY BUY BUY!

Review: The title of this review holds true from the very beginning to the very end of this movie. It's definately a movie to own since you'll want to see it more than once. This movie's humor is different in an unexplainable way that will have you craking up from begining to end. The contrast of a prudish town and it's people to the outlandish looks and ways of Elvira is how this movie begins, please see the rest... it's worth it!

Summary: A Beautiful Story with Positive Messages
Review: The beautiful story of a horror hostess trying to discover her past, and claim a little inheritance at the same time can't help but be a delight. Despite how she is treated and scorned, Elvira still manages to be positive all the time, even before she is to be burnt. Don't you wish you knew more people like that? Elvira's sense of humor is sure to bring smiles to your face, and when Elvira finally achieves her dreams, it is sure to leave a warm feeling in your heart.

Summary: A cult classic
Review: No, it's not "Citizen Kane," but it's campy fun on a par to "Rocky Horror Picture Show." It's really a well made homage to the scores of classic B monster films she hosted on her TV program for many years. Surprisingly, it has a fairly good plot and special effects--better than most modern horror films. Of course, you watch it for "Elvira" but there is a good supporting cast, most notably Edie McClurg as Chastity Pariah (well, the name says it all). For many years you could only find this on a SLP VHS video. At last we can enjoy it wide screen on DVD. Too bad there are no DVD extras.

Summary: Corny, Campy Comedy!
Review: A fun romp into Elvira's world, complete with her corny humor. You'll love the clever little jokes interwoven with the story, such as the name of the small conservative town Elvira roars into--Fallwell, Massachusetts as a dig against Jerry Falwell. Ignore Matlin's review--this is an enjoyable film, pure entertainment full of humorous cliches probably borrowed from those terrible horror films that Elvira hosts and commentates. This is especially a great film for Halloween.

Summary: elvira mistress of the dark
Review: I HAVE NOT SEEN THE (FULL VERSION), HOWEVER I HAVE SEEN THE CUT UK VERSION.The film is very funny, and at the same time often quite rude, but this all adds to the impression that you get from the film. I belive that this title is, vey good, and i quite like the main character, it has many elements in from other films added in. Yes it may be camp, but it is supposed to be comedy at the same point. I enjoyed watching the uk version, and look forward to viewing the the full version soon.

Summary: Mistress of Camp!
Review: Camp is the best word to describe this film. Camp just oozes from every moment of Elvira's film debut. From the outrageous costumes, hilarious one liners and double entendras, simplistic characters and flimsy plot, this films greatest desire is to shock you into laughter. Thankfully, it succeedes in spades. After only having a bad VHS copy for years I was amazed at how clear and crisp the image on this DVD is. I found myslef wondering if restoration had been done on the image since blacks are so deep and colors are so vibrant. Even the special effects seem more real. Thank goodness it's all presented in widescreen, so you can enjoy all the crisp images. Bonus wise, the disk is pretty skimpy, but what's offered is great. The teaser and trailer are suprisingly thight and funny and I found the bio on Cassandra Patterson quite informative. Keep your eyes open for an easter egg or two! If you like Camp, sexual plays on words and double entendras, you can't do much better than Elvira. Three cheers for her big opening!
