Summary: Better than I thought!
Review: When I heard that my favorite band KISS was doing a movie I started thinking about KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park (1978) and I said to myself, oh, no...But I heard that the band weren't the actors, I was relieved! So I read about it in movie magazines and I thought the story was kinda cool. I saw it and it is a good movie, not a classic but a very good entertainment. The actors are great we can see the chemistery between them and it makes it even better. Don't hesitate rent it or buy it but you have to see it!

Summary: A Fun ride through my childhood of the 70's
Review: This movie brought back a lot of fun memories of my life growing up in the 70's and wanting so bad to see Kiss in concert. I can deffinetly relate to the 4 kids in the movie. From the kids leaving the KISS album on the family stero ,performing in the basment, and the mother burning the concert tickets. this movie really made me laugh. On the down side I wish there was move sences involving KISS. when the sales of this dvd are realsed and the figures are large as i know they will be, I hope they bring back to other great KISS movie from the 70's which rates up there with the batman movie, KISS meets the phantom of the park.

Summary: Packed full of laughs & music!
Review: This movie was surprisingly entertaining. Even if you aren't a KISS fan you will enjoy it. If you are a KISS fan this is a must have.

Summary: Best movie about KISS fans and best movie of the year too!
Review: I have to say from the "Rock Bottom" of my heat, that this is the best film ever done for KISS fans. It beats American Pie by a longshot in the comedy status. From the beginning with "Love Gun" to the end with "Detroit Rock City" the movie is a laugh-a-thon that makes Something About Mary a desperate effort. Some people may not agree UP! "

Summary: Great trip in KISSland
Review: A funny and wacky trip to the best show in the world. a group of teens who play in their own KISS tribute band, Mstery, fight their way to the show. But they need tickets first! You'll laugh your butt off! Each member by the way represents each member of the band.

Summary: Thank God somebody dragged me to see this one.
Review: I hate Kiss. I'm sick of the 70's. And I LOVED this movie! Watching it was a perfect experience for me. I thought "American Pie" dragged from at times and "South Park" got a little too weird for me, but "Detroit Rock City" kept it going and kept it funny. Watch out for Lin Shaye as the evil mom. She puts in one of the funniest performances of the year.

Summary: Entertaining
Review: I really enoyed this film. I am a Kiss fan and was part of the extras for it. That aside though, it reminded me of Rock And Roll High School meets Dazed and Confused. It really brought me back to that era. It's just a very fun movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not only for Kiss fans!
Review: I'm not a huge Kiss fan but I loved this movie. It captures the time and is loaded with great music. I was pleasantly surprised. It's really funny.

Summary: HAVE TO SEE THIS ONE!
Review: THIS FILM IS NOT ABOUT KISS. ITS ABOUT KISS FANS WANTING TO SEE KISS. BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO BE A KISS FAN TO ENJOY THIS FLICK. THE SCENES WERE SO REALISTIC THAT I THOUGHT I WAS LIVING BACK IN 77 AGAIN RIGHT ALONG WITH THE ACTORS. IF YOU THINK IT IS INMATURE REMEMBER IT IS ABOUT TEENS HAVING FUN. GREAT SOUNDTRACK TO BOOT FROM THAT ERA ALSO. SO GET THE MOVIE, RENT THE MOVIE, JUST MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE MOVIE. LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN AND NASTALGIA. SEE IT

Summary: WHATEVER YOU DO, DON't MISS IT THIS TIME AROUND!!!!!
Review: Darth Maul, Austin Powers,John Travolta, and killer sharks... What else would summer 1999 require? KISS. That's what we needed. Recalling "Dazed And Confused" and channeling "Rock N' Roll High School", "Detroit Rock City" is a heaping portion of good fun. Filled to the brim with energy and acted by a cast of clever actors who probably can't even shave yet, this music-packed comedy is just be what the doctor (Dr. Love, that is) ordered. KISS fans might not be too happy to hear that the band isn't in the film for more than 5 minutes, but the DVD extra scenes will more than make up for it. Director Adam Rifkin has made a film not about KISS, but about four teenagers from 1978 Cleveland who drive to Detroit to see the band in concert. Everything from religiously fanatic mothers (The great Lin Shaye), to money-stealing bullies, and even some Disco lowlifes try to stop our heroes as they trek to see the world's greatest band. Once in Detroit, the friends split up to find opportunities to scam their way into the show. It is also in Detroit where each teen learns a very important lesson about life, and just how much KISS rocks. Leading the group is Edward Furlong, who gives his best performance to date. I've never seen him so loose on-screen before. Working with James DeBello, Giuseppe Andrews, and probably the most expressive teenage actor working today, Sam Huntington, they each deliver just the right amount of teenage apathy. You don't come around such a young cast that works so well together too often. It's quite obvious from the brilliant opening credits that Director Rifkin is out to have some fun. He brings back the 1970's with wonderful widescreen lensing, a dab of split-screen, and a soundtrack crammed with classic rock hits. (Go buy the CD!) One after another, the music fills each scene with such vibrant energy. The camera swings and moves with alarming speed. The colors pop and squeak. The era is evoked gently and without(much) sarcasm. "Detroit Rock City" is one of the few films that seems to be the product of genuine love for the era and the music. It's a bright film with an enormous amount of good will. "Detroit Rock City" is often sharp, always silly, slightly tasteless, but a seriously rocking late summer film that made up for the usual garbage that litters August. You wanted the best, you got the best. Don't miss it on DVD!
