Summary: Yeah, you know how it ends, but it's fun getting there
Review: OK, you pick up this DVD and you KNOW how it's going to end. If you don't, well then you must really, really be having a hard time reading this review! By now, J-Lo has made a name for herself as the love interest of Matthew McYouspellhislastname in The Wedding Planner and James Cavaziel in, uh, what WAS the name of that movie? Well, you get the point, right? You know the ending, but it's fun nonetheless watching the inevitable "bound to fall in love" happen. Mind candy. No stress. No violence. No explosions. No special effects. Just good ol' sappy romance. Aw, guilty pleasures! Yeah, they'll never be 5-star classics, but they'll always be fun to watch! (And if you're a guy on a date, you just KNOW you're gonna get to snuggle up halfway through the picture...so it's a given.) Date movie. Fluff. And, yep, I watched it twice!

Summary: Raph Fiennes fine in banal romatic comedy
Review: We don't expect romantic comedies to break new ground. We are happy enough when ones like "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and "My Best Friend's Wedding" put a new spin on the genre, but, basically, we go to such movies because they are comforting. Still, an entry can be so predictable that we can leave for ten minutes and come back to find that we have missed nothing. Such is the case with "Maid in Manhattan". Though sweet and cuddly-cute, it ends up making us feel slightly jilted.

Marisa [Jennifer Lopez] is a young New Yorker struggling to support herself and her precocious son, Ty [Tyler Garcia Posey]. She works as a maid in an upscale Manhattan hotel. One day, while cleaning a suite, a co-worker talks her into trying on a guest's $5,000 suit. Christopher [Ralph Fiennes], a wealthy politician, sees her in the outfit and mistakes her for a rich woman. Instantly attracted to the guy, Marisa reluctantly keeps up the ruse. You can easily guess the rest of the story.

This movie could just as easily have been made in 1940; in fact, something similar no doubt was. There's nothing wrong with this, except that "Maid in Manhattan" lacks the style and wit found in many older romantic comedies. It's all a very by-the-numbers production with lots of stereotypes and surprisingly few laughs. The highlight is a very strong performance by Fiennes, who, much to his credit, seems oblivious to the fact that he's starring in a mediocre movie.

Review: but hey, my 13 year old niece like it.

Summary: JLo's own cinderella story
Review: okay this might be a cross between Pretty Woman and Cinderella, and although the storyline is predictable its great for those of us who love chickflicks such as these. JLo is not only an artist, but also an entrepreneur and although her movies aren't that great her romantic comedies are entertaining even if their predictable.

Summary: Same old.......
Review: Why is it when some actors get some success they immediately go straight to the formulaic romantic comedy? Jennifer Lopez was great in "Out of Sight" and "Serena". But now all she makes are these follow the formula bore me to tears, not so comedic romantic comedies. The only exception of late was her movie "Enough", and when you saw the preview to that you automatically knew how it ended and didn't need to watch it. It is unfortunate when talented actors go straight to the easy money maker instead of looking for something challenging like the projects that showed us how good they are in the first place. And Mr. Fienes should know better, someone must have some blackmail info on him to get into this piece of junk.

Summary: Boring and Predictable Movie
Review: This movie does not have any nudity. This movie also have un-necessary usage of offensive phrases. Movies these days are deterriorating with plotless stories and offensive dialogue with uncessary scenes of love making.

Besides all this, I find the acting of Ms. Lopez somewhat convincing and a line to paraphrase from actor Bob Hoskins (plays as the butler): We are defined by not the kind of work we do, but how well we rise after we fall.

Summary: predictable...but good
Review: Although this movie is lacking inquiry, you can respect the movie enough to want to watch it just once. Considering JLo's new singing style, I prefer to watch her movies instead because her songs are dumb. I think that she's a good actress, not great.
I have a few complaints about this movie though. First of all, if she doesn't have the best job, and she's living in New York, how does she have all those nice clothes,(I'm not talking about the clothes she tries on at the hotel) when she's at her apartment and when she's going to work she has really nice clothes. Also, there wasn't a lot of chemistry between the couple. This movie could have been a bit better, but it's good if you just want to watch a movie.
I don't think it's really worth buying...just renting

Summary: Pretty Woman + a cute kid.
Review: Swap out the hooker for a hotel maid and add a cute kid and you have "Maid in Manhattan" instead of "Pretty Woman". I was kind of surprized that J. Lopez would appear in such an obvious knock off. Did she need the money that bad? Aside from all that, it was an entertaining movie and I'd give it 3 stars.

Summary: Pretty Woman It's NOT!!!
Review: Okay, so I had a giggle or two but for the most part...there was no real chemistry between the two leads and the believeability of their "love affair" was about as believeable as saying that J'Lo is still "Jenny From The Block". Wait for it to be released on primetime.

Summary: A very touching movie...
Review: A beautifully filmed, romantic love story.
Cute kid gives a brilliant performance as the son of a latin hotel maid...
