Summary: A pretty mindless comedy
Review: Dudley Moore displays true versatility in this movie. Bo Derek shows true "flexability." It is a good film for a few laughs, but lacks any real plot. Watching Dudley Moore play the piano is always a treat and I am having trouble finding an audio recording of the bar scene where he performs.

Summary: Skin Deep
Review: Dudley Moore showed us what he can do when given a good script and strong support. With Julie Andrews as his on-again off-again love interest, Moore creates a believable, if not entirely sympathetic, character: George Webber. George is unsure of himself - after all, turning 42 does do something to a man's self-esteem; in his case he becomes obsessed with Jenny (Bo Derek), a fleeting vision of perfection (11 on a scale of 1 to 10). Giving way to his baser impulses George (unwittingly) becomes sexually entangled with Derek, but realises that lust is a castle of sand. Blake Edwards draws George as a rather shallow individual, prone to voyeurism and egocentricity - but who, in his quest for perfection, gives the viewer a hint of our own moral eccentricities. The writing is especially strong in the film's second half as George agonises over his lack of direction and moral compass. His rebuke of Jenny - decrying her amorality after their illicit consummation - is the film's highlight; stinging, yet poignant. Dudley Moore, for once, played a seriocomic figure with maturity and humanity, traits not evident in subsequent films.

Summary: Hilarious Yet Ridiculous
Review: Even the title for this film does not fit into anything. Dudley Moore's character once mentions that Bo Derek's character is an '11' on a scale from 1 to 10... so why is the film called '10'!?! Anyway, as usual, Dudley Moore provides a lot of good laughs, not only in the slapstick genre and his classic drunk scenes. And these moments are the only highlights of an otherwise outdated and therefore nowadays ridiculous film. Sex? None.

Summary: Fun but not 70s
Review: Great cast, great writing and director. Dudley Moore is a hoot and you can just look at him and laugh. Julie Andrews is not what you exept in this movie. She doesn't play Mary Poppins(nor is she really one in real life as being dubbed as a Nanny!). She is a single mother divorced and like to give the finger to the neighbors when they are spying on her and Moore. Nice to see this movie since Moore just died. Very funny scenes! A gusty movie to make in the 70's! DVD is pretty good for the price. There is a trailer and behind the scenes of writing this movie. 6 bucks in the stores and can't go wrong!

Summary: Hi Fi Sound on Centre Speaker only?? Cmon Warner!
Review: I couldn't believe it, but this DVD although it says Dolby Digital on the box does not even come in stereo! Imagine...a DVD with sound only out of the centre speaker. Don't buy. Great classic movie, but stereo was out way before this movie was make. This DVD is a rip off, sound wise.

Summary: they're not married
Review: I enjoy this film, in any of its forms; I think Moore's girlfriend, although her license plate says she's a "1," is the real "10" in his life. But I'm really writing this review to correct the two (at least) other reviews on this site that claim to have seen the film and yet refer to Julie Andrews' character as being Dudley Moore's character's wife. It is perfectly clear that these two characters are never married (he PROPOSES to her at the end of the film, for Pete's sake!).

Summary: Dated and Overrated!
Review: I saw 10 for the first time in a theater and this movie had it's moments so that's the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1, but I have to agree with the guy who said it gets tiresome after awhile. It was ok when I first saw it but after watching it again I found it to be a dull movie that had a few funny moments! I like Dudley Moore, Julie Andrews and Blake Edwards, but this movie now seems dated. It's about a middle-aged man who has a nice caring girlfriend but during a mid life crisis chases after a young bimbo and I feel that this movie is dated and overrated!

Summary: Good movie - poor casting
Review: I would just like to use this space to contest that Bo Derek never was qualified enough to be a 'sex symbol' character in anything. So, to cast her in this movie as the 'sex' interest of Dudley Moore doesn't quite work. (I keep wanting someone to yank those raggedy beads off her odd looking head.) I would also like to give a special message to John Derek: John, may Providence strike you down for subjecting us to misshapen, no-talent hacks such as Bo Derek and Linda Evans. Two unsexy and boring women (unless one is in to women who look like Skeletor from He-Man). Also, Julie Andrews gives one the impression of being Dudley's mom, not his wife. Why not cast Doris Day as the wife of Dudley's character? Sorry all, I had to vent.

Summary: Five Stars for Dudley and Julie
Review: In 10, Dudley Moore gives a five star performance on two fronts as both a comic and music genius. Film fans may be unaware that Moore scored several films and performed as a concert pianist in his career in addition to his acting talents. Moore plays a fortyish songwriter who has developed the mother of all mid-life crisis's. Julie Andrews (who looks fantastic here BTW) shines as his impatient love interest and Bo Derek is lovely as Dudley's fantasy girl. Brian Dennehy and Dee Wallace-Stone are very good in supporting roles. The DVD transfer is good especially for a film that has a little age. The sound is mono only which is disappointing but understandable. This is one of Blake Edwards best films and a must see for fans of romantic comedy. It is sad and sobering to realize that both Moore's and Andrew's gifts have been diminished by illness. Grab this DVD and take time to remember how really talented they both are.
