Summary: sad ending
Review: All the humor and amusing antics of the script go completely out the window when Hooch dies at the end. Bah! Kill Hanks but not the dog!

Summary: This Movie Is For The Dogs
Review: Another bad late 80's Tom Hanks film. (...)I hate bashing a Tom Hanks film, but this one is well deserving of it. Hanks plays a cop who needs the dog Hooch to identify the identities of some murderers. You see, the dog was the only one who witnessed it. The movie is very bad with one hell of an unhappy ending. Not a great ending for little kids to see. Anyways, not much else to say. Awful. Save your time. What do people see in this dog of a movie?. Tom must be embarrased. I know I am.

Summary: Hanks Rules and Hooch Drools (and Rules)!
Review: As a lover of the big dogs (mine are actually bigger than Hooch - Newfoundlands and Mastiff), I particularly enjoyed this movie. Hanks was great as the obsessive-compulsive police detective living in a neat, organized world that was turned upside-down by the addition of Hooch (a Dogue de Bordeaux or French Mastiff). To me, the plot about drugs and money laundering was secondary to the relationship between Turner and Hooch. From their first meeting with the muffin to the last moments, it was a joy to behold. While some things were not accurrate (the food buying scene in the grocery store - that's not how to do it) and some irresponsible (a veterinarian who lets her intact female dog roam free), life with one of these big droolers was fairly well portrayed. The scene where Hooch is left alone and proceeds to destroy the house was priceless. Something giant breed owners can understand. As cop and dog movies go, I feel that this was the best. They all are formulaic: cop gets stuck with dog, cop doesn't like dog, cop learns to get along with dog, cop's life is saved by dog or visa versa, cop loves dog. This had more fun to it and the use of an unusual breed with a drooling problem lent itself to interestign situations. A fun movie.

Summary: good boy
Review: Before turning to watered down dramas, Hanks was at one time one of America's Finest comedic actors. THis movie copuld have been extremely bad, but thanks to hanks it don't stank. Hooch turns in some fine work as well.

Summary: An ok comedy/thriller
Review: Hanks is a great actor and is always a pleasure to watch, this film was enjoyable and entertaining, not more but not less. The romance isn't as good as in many of his other films, and the murder mystery cops and robbers part is just ok. His relationship with the dog is the main part of the film, but it isn't quite enough to really make this movie really good. A mild recommendation.

Summary: Filmed in My Hometown!
Review: Honestly, Turner & Hooch is a fun movie but the best part is that it takes place in my home town. The movie was filmed entirely on location in Pacific Grove, California which is called "Cypress Beach" in the movie. "City Hall" is actually a local bank, and the church across the street is now a furniture store. The chase scene along the ocean was filmed about two blocks from my house. We love to watch it in slo-mo to catch little glimpses of familiar places and things.

Summary: Tom Hanks and a dog, what's next a movie about him and WW2
Review: I actually haven't seen this movie but I do think it is the story about the love between one man and his dog, or somethin' about beastiality.

Summary: This movie was a bit violent, but other then that.....
Review: I first saw Turner and Hooch on TV and it made me laugh! Then as i got deeper into the movie I realized it must have been rated PG before there was a PG-13, it was violent and had some other content (Although not much) that made me wonder if it should be on so early in the day when tiny little kids could watch it. But to any dog lover that is over ten I do recomend this movie.

Summary: sad ending
Review: I first saw Turner and Hooch when it was in movie theaters and I liked it. It's not Tom Hanks best movie but the whole story of his character and the dog was so cute though the ending was very sad!
