Summary: How come the low scores
Review: I can't believe that alot of people who doesn't like this movie, personally I thought that it was funny and it had a bunch of great actors as well, the movie is about Chris Thorne (Chevy Chase) who decides to take his new girlfriend Diane (Demi Moore) to Atlantic City and they also take Renaldo and Nalda with them and Chris accidentally runs a stop sign and the cop (John Candy) is after them and Chris decides to run from the police but he doesn't make it as the female police officer stops them and they are taken to the run-down courtroom in Valkenvania where they meet an 106 year old judge (Dan Aykroyd) and that's where the fun begins.Later they meet Eldona (also done by John Candy),Bobo (Aykroyd) and Lil' Dubbell and Chris and Diane get into numerous mishaps and we also have a cameo of the Digital Underground, the memorable scenes were the dinner table, the slide, and the judge farted when he was going to bed. If you love dark comedies then you'll love Nothing But Trouble and it is one of the most underrated movies of the 1990's
and it deserves more recognition than what it gets and don't listen to the bad reviews that you hear cause they don't know what a good movie is.

Summary: "Dumb, not funny, not scary, but still entertaining
Review: It's true what critics say. Nothing But Trouble isn't Chevy Chase's, John Candy's, and Dan Aykroyd's best comedy though it still entertains. It truly is a lot like Beetlejuice though the ending is horrible. Chevy Chase stars as Chris, a stock market whiz and millionaire who wants to go to Atlantic City with investment lawyer Demi Moore. However, one small violation (Candy plays the cop who brings them in) leads them to Valikenvania, a whole place filled with wrecked yards and a big unclean mansion. In there theyfind the 106 year old Alvin Valkenheiser (Aykroyd), a judge with a extreme grudge for bankers (he thinks Chase is a banker) and has ways to punish people for breaking the law. And as Moore and Chase run through booby traps and rooms, they meet up with several ugly-looking characters (especially those two dirty fat man who Aykroyd plays). John Candy also has another role as Valkenheiser's daughter (that's right, he has a girly part). The script is not Academy-Award deserving but it's not the worst script you've ever read. It's not a complete all star cast but who cares. Aykroyd looks horrible in the movie and though some things are way too unbelievable, I thought it was an an entertaining and creepy movie with a little comedic twist thrown in. You should probably rent it first before you buy it. This is the kind of movie that'll be boring the fourth or fifth time you watch it.

Summary: This movie scares me
Review: It scares the crap out of me, actually. It's not so much a comedy as the embodying fear of being trapped in a nightmarish junk house populated my mutants, psychos and Chevy Chase. It's not what you would expect from the usual Aykroyd or Chase movie, but it is surreal and unique.

Summary: Nothing but pure mindless entertainment...so what?
Review: Regardless of whether one liked or disliked this movie, I think we can all agree that one has to be in a certain frame of mind to watch it and possibly get anything out of it. If you're looking for an intellectually stimulating movie, avoid this one at all costs. This isn't its purpose. But if you're in the mood to just wind down a bit and watch a goofy, crazy flick, it might be for you. Ok, so the plot is dumb. But the great cast do a nice job with what they're given. Dan Aykroyd's character was my least favorite one but he was entertaining as the impossibly-old judge. Chevy Chase was good as he usually is with his witty and funny one-liners. The always sexy Demi Moore was very pleasing to watch indeed. And then there's John Candy, the reason I bought this movie (I'm a John Candy completist). As always, he was great. But getting back to basics: Is this movie Oscar-worthy? Far from it. Will it change your life? No. Will it entertain you? Possibly, if you can look past its absurdity and the stigma that movies like this usually revolve around... On a side note, pick up Nothing But Trouble's soundtrack if you ever find it (I believe it's out of print now). While ecclectic in its musical selections, it's a fine soundtrack. To conclude, I give Nothing But Trouble 3 stars and add another just for John Candy (yes, I'm a die-hard fan).

Summary: A strange. somewhat funny, but surreal comedy on a bad DVD
Review: Chris Thorne (Chevy Chase) is a stock market whiz who needs to attend a buisness meeting. He agrees to take Diane Lightson (Demi Moore, in her last comic role before she, like Tome Hanks, went on to roles that only won her Oscars.) to Atlantic City along with a bizarre couple, and becomes smitten. However, after a pass through the desolate village of Valkenvania (the working title of the film), that will have to be put on the back burner. You see, Chris has been pulled over for a minor traffic violation, and he, with the rest of the occupants, is hauled off to the house of Justice of the Peace Alvin Valkenheiser (Dan Aykroyd) for a trial. Can Chris, Diane, and the rest of the group escape before they become just another news story and memory? I agree with the critics on one thing: this is not the stars' finest hour. They turn in good performances for the average script they are given, but the agreeing stops there. This is a surreal, strange, and fun way to kill an hour and a half. Memorable moments include a drug using quartet getting sent into "Mr. Bonestripper", a machine that looks like a guy and has jagged metal pistons for teeth. They go in, their bones come out and hit the walls with the sounds of a pinball machine. Another one is the appearance of the band Digital Underground (for all you rap fans out there, this is a rare movie appearance of Tupac Shakur) as a band hauled in by the JP, who joins in (on organ)with their chart-topper, "Same Song". The DVD I picked up in a bargian bin (I'm a cheapskate, I know), and no surprise why: It's an early Warner one, with sub-par full frame video and adequate sound, but NO EXTRAS! Unless you see this DVD in a bragain bin, get the video. As is the case with many movies, good movie, subpar DVD. NOTHING BUT TROUBLE

Taylor Negron is the most hilarious person in this movie. I wish he would not have escaped because the movie goes downhill from then on. The hot-dog dinner scene is hilarious!

Review: I will give this movie two stars because of the scene with the hot dogs. I cannot believe that anyone would give "nothing but trouble" five stars. Did they watch the entire movie? I will say that if you have never seen this movie, rent it, or wait for it to come on Comedy Central, because it is a spectacle to watch and you will form an opinion of it after watching it. I can also (I have never tried this) but I just thought of it: I'll bet this would be one of the funniest movies to watch if you were stoned.

Summary: Ackroyd hits Homer
Review: Critics keep expecting "Nothing But Trouble" to resemble other comedies featuring Dan Ackroyd, Demi Moore, John Candy, and Chevy Chase, and being disappointed because it does not. This is actually quite an erudite sort of comedy that might most appeal to people who like the very serious film "The Emperor's Club," starring Kevin Klein. Viewers who really know their Trojan War epics will get it, including Demi Moore portraying a series of noteworthy Homeric women, among them Cassandra and Odysseus' wife. Those who don't know Homer may unfortunately be mystified by the many allusions and send-ups of classical literature. The weakest parts are actually the portions that depart from the classical framework to try to appeal to general expectations of the cast. Summary: One of the Funniest Films Ever Made
Review: Dan Aykroyd's character, the Justice of the Peace, Alvin Valkenheiser, is the funniest character on film. I am amazed at the poor reviews that a small number of people have given this movie. This is a great movie. I wish that they had made two or three sequels using the same cast and characters.
