Rating: Summary: Encore! Review: 'The Odd Couple' is a classic cornerstone of American Comedy, a sequel would seem to be a risky propostion but this one delivers with laugh out loud scenes of the mismatched duo of Felix and Oscar as they attempt to arrive on time at their offsprings wedding. Lost luggage, torched maps, wrecked rental cars and other mishaps abound but the real laughs lie in the delivery of this classic comedy team of Lemmon (as fastitious photographer Felix) and Matthau (as sloppy sports writer Oscar), a great time.
Rating: Summary: Felix and Oscar are trying to get to their kids wedding Review: Excellent movie, very funny and uplifting. Felix's daughter is about to marry Oscar's son in this movie, the fathers are going across country to the wedding together. These two run across many obsticles along the way ( which by the way they don't know how to get there). The two guys are very good actors that make you laugh throughout the movie.
Rating: Summary: At Odds And A Little Uneven... Review: Following the success of the Grumpy Old Men films, original Odd Couple writer Neil Simon, decided to bring together Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau yet again. Putting them in the roles that made them one of the greatest on screen duos of all time in the first place. As The Odd Couple II begins, many years have passed since uncompromising slob Oscar Madison (Matthau) and fuss budget and neatnick Felix Unger (Lemmon) shared, not only an apartment, but their many trials as two divorced men. After years of going their separate ways, the two are suddenly thrown together again, en route to the wedding of Oscar's son Bruce (Jonathan Silverman) to Felix's daughter Hannah (Lisa Waltz). Getting to the wedding ceremony, proves difficult for the perspective in laws, when they are forced to take a cross country trip together. Written once again by Simon, the script has its fair share of cliches`, to be sure but the film is saved by Lemmon and Matthau. The chemistry between these two legendary comic masters is undeniable. Due to the passage of time though, Simon's follow up isn't as bitting as the original, that said, The Odd Couple II is still worth a look for those that enjoy the work of the duo. Director Howard Deutch, having worked with this team before, knows them pretty well. The original film, based on a play, never felt that way...This time out, the sequel, at times feels like an extended episode of the television incartnation. The only bonus material on the DVD is the film's theatrical trailer. Both of these great actors are sadly no longer with us, but thankfully their work will live on, in the films they left behind. Not as good as the original film--the follow up is, nonetheless recommended.
Rating: Summary: GREAT FUN WITH THE GREATEST GOLDEN OLDIES Review: God bless Lemmon and Matthau!. They're getting older, but they are still the greatest. There was a lot of risks re-teaming Felix and Oscar after thirty years and after the first Odd couple, but the final result is a funny road movie: and when the two clowns meet at the airport, and Felix runs to Oscar, well, all of us would run with him. Thanks to Amazon I had the chance to see it in Italy (where the picture was'nt distribuited in the theatres).
Rating: Summary: A REALLY LAUGH OUT LOUD COMEDY Review: I don't know why the critics thought this movie was not up to par. I thought it was great. Maybe the critics based this movie soley on the plot, as it was just about the misadventures of these two great comedy actors on their way to a family wedding. But this movie was sooooooooooo funny! You will really laugh out loud, not once or twice, but many times! Just don't choke!
Rating: Summary: Matthau-Lemmon is always a winner, but... Review: I have to agree with others that this was a bit disappointing. I wasn't expecting something as good as the first "Odd Couple" (really, how could ANYTHING top that?) but I think it could have been better. Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon are both top-notch actors just on their own, and together they are an unstoppable duo. However, in the sunset years of their lives, they made four movies that I remember: "Grumpy Old Men", "Grumpier Old Men", "Grumpiest (just kidding)", "Out To Sea", and "The Odd Couple II". All funny movies, all excellently played by our guys, but all basically the same movie with slightly different situations. I blame the writers, though, not Walter and Jack. If you're a fan of Matthau-Lemmon movies, then you'll enjoy this one. Just don't expect anything new.

Rating: Summary: A wonderfully funny and uplifting movie. Buy this movie!!! Review: I thought that this movie was very well made. Again Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon at their finest. These two, no matter what movie they are in bring the screen to life. Great story line, wonderful acting, funny one-liners, and more importantly two of my favorite actors!! Watch this movie, it is wonderful!!!!
Rating: Summary: The Odd Couple Returns Again (except their language) Review: I thought the movie was a well made and very funny. The two actors play older men at their best that hate each other ways but are still friends. The sight and sounds take you back to the "Odd Couple" days when you hated one of them. The movie is designed for fans who are familiar with the original, so watch it again before this. The continual crude language (much unnecessary) gives it a four star. I would not let younger kids watch and it's a shame.
Rating: Summary: The Odd Couple is Still Going Strong! Review: If there's a sequel that lives up to the original movie, this is it! Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon star in the incredibly funny reunion of Oscar Madison and Felix Ungar, Odd Couple 2. Having performed in the stage play for which the original movie was based, I was a little sceptacle whether or not Neil Simon could write another screen play that could live up to the hilarity of the first. After viewing this movie my fears were put to rest. It was just as funny as the first ( if not funnier). Lemmon and Matthau deliver a perfect perfromance that stayed with in the continuity of the characters that they portrayed thirty years ago. A real laughfest!
