Summary: More than a comedy
Review: This movie was not the usual Jim Carrey comedy. It was a very serios movie, wich has very good laughs.

Summary: My Favorite Jim Carrey Flick
Review: This movie might take a couple of run-throughs before you truely appreciate all of the comedy in it, but the process is well worth it. Ace Ventura it is not. Nor is it The Truman Show. What it is is an excellent black comedy that has some of the funniest scenes of any movie that I've ever seen. Make no mistake, it is a black comedy, and therefore not for everyone. But it does contain great gags and dialogue, and in particular shows off Broderick as a great straight-man. The only reason it does not get 5 stars from me is that I reserve that for films like Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, and such. Definately a great movie though.

Summary: The Cable Guy is a movie Masterpiece!
Review: Jim Carrey is possibly the greatest actor of all time. He is masterful playing a psycho cable guy who is has been fired by his cable company for stalking clients. When he meets up with Matthew Broderick (Steven) he is still posing as a cable repair man. Steven is going having problems with his girlfriend leaving him prone to the friendless cable guy. The two of them go on many adventures from battling at Midevel Times to having a kariokee jam at Stevens apartment. Steven gets back together with his girlfriend and tells Carey he has no time for new friends. The action begins when Carrey, who never reveals his real name in the moovie, tells Steven, " You can either be my best friend or my worst enenmy, you seem to prefer the latter". The moovie is a blast from start to finish. My friends and I watch it whenever we have a spare minute. Buy it, you won't be dissapointed.

Summary: A Truely Funny & Witty Film that has Been Lost Because of $$
Review: Unfortunately, Jim Carrey's $20 Million salary got all the attention. Unfair! I have watched this movie many times and find it just as smart and cutting edge as Ben Stillers other films. The supporting cast is fantastic and there is one funny scene after another. I highly recommend this film for the comedy buff and I include it among my top 10 comedies of all time! Let me add that I am not a big fan of many of Jim Caray's movies. However, The Cable Guy hits all the right spots, including the funny bone!

Summary: Son of Cable Guy...future spin off?
Review: I really liked this movie. Overall, I didn't find it that dark.
I look at it as a clever vehicle to let Jim Carey do his comedy. The way Mathew Broderick reacts to Carey is almost as funny as Jim Carey. In addition, all the actors shine in this movie.

Summary: Too much of anything isn't necessarily a good thing
Review: Prior to the hugely successful "Liar Liar", Jim Carrey made the darkly funny "Cable Guy". It was a big disappointment at the box office and most critics dismissed it, but I think it's one of Carrey's best films.

Mathew Broderick stars opposite Carrey as Steve. As the movie opens Steve's just broken up with his girlfriend and is moving into a new apartment.

Carrey plays the title character, a lisping psycho who worms his way into Steve's life after installing his cable. Carrey doesn't have any friends, just "preferred customers", and he's soon all over Steve (who is somewhat vulnerable), terrorizing his friends, and finally taking over his life.

What I like about "Cable Guy" is that, unlike previous Carrey vehicles, this one has some ideas. In a flashback we learn that TV is a poor substitute for loving parents when we see Carrey's mother trotting off to a bar, leaving the young kid alone with the television, which mom refers to as the "babysitter". There's a nice little message about the dehumanizing effects of TV and what a friend of mine calls "second-hand living".

At the same time, the movie is a comedy and I enjoyed trying to catch all the obscure references Carrey's constantly making to old TV shows. In one terrific scene, at a "Medieval Times" restaurant, the pair play out a battle that references a specific scene in a "Star Trek" episode, that even goes so far as to include the same background music. And if you know that, you're probably watching far too much TV.

Summary: You gotta see this movie
Review: This movie had me laughing till I thought my gut would bust. I saw it at the movie theatre before anyone really knew about it - I hadn't seen any trailers, just the crazy looking pic of Carry holding the cable that you see on the box.

Wow - his performance blew away his usual slapstick. Seeing a mean streak in him just made it that much more funny. My favorite scene has to be his Karaoke performance. I guess you either love it or hate it, but I strongly recommend that you watch it and find out for yourself.

Summary: Great Movie
Review: I gotta admit first time I saw that movie I wasnt satisfied, I was hoping to see another DUmb & DUmber movie I guess. Eventually after watching the movie second time and third time it grew one me. I could watch this movie many times and laugh. My favortie Jim Carry movie will always be Dumb & Dumber, The Mask, Cable Guy & Truman Show. I was never big fan of Ace Ventura.
