Summary: Lush, wonderful movie
Review: Leonard Maltin continues to be a jackass.

This movie is a visual treat, and the soundtrack (with folks like Pat Methany, Enya, Tori Amos, and Thomas Dolby) is a joy. While the plot might not be overwhelming, this is a movie where the creators obviously cared a lot about the experience of watching the thing. Joan Cusak is wonderful, and LL Cool J is superb. So make sure you're relaxed and want to visit a surreal world where joy and violence do battle. Let peace and happiness prevail.

Summary: "There's a tradition of whimsy here at Zebo Toys."
Review: I describe this movie as whimsical. That's a nice way of saying that most people won't like it. You're definitely not going to like it if you have no imagination and you expect your movies to make sense. Like any work that strays so far from the mainstream, it's going to go over the top sometimes, but let that slide and enjoy the bits that do catch your fancy.

Summary: One of the Best Movies Ever
Review: An incredible film. Alien Al shoud have won an oscar for his performance. My favourite movie by a wide margin.

Summary: Misunderstood movie
Review: This is one of my favorite movies. While the other reader reviews can tell you more about this movie, I just thought I'd add another positive comment to this misunderstood movie.

Summary: Toys toys toys
Review: The movie is about a man called Leslie (Williams) that loses his father (who owns a toy factory) and his uncle takes over the company. The problem starts when Leslie discovers the real intentions of his uncle, who wants to make some changes to the factory which change the whole intention and purpose of Leslie's father. Only toys. All sizes, colors, flavors, they're all there. This movie ships you away from reality, to a world where time has no end, where everything is a tale, colorful, spacious... This evolving fantasy takes you back in time, and makes you remember all about being a kid, and all those things that time has forced you to forget. If you like fantasy, you'll like this movie for sure (please note that fantasy does not mean Science Fiction).

Summary: Creative, funny, and an all together GREAT movie!
Review: Toys is an example of a well planned movie. I enjoyed it very much. Robin Williams fits the part of "Leslie" perfectly. This movie is definitely one of the best movies ever!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Overdone, but very, very, funny & entertaining.
Review: The opening scene and climax of this film are melodramatic, but what happens in between is hilarious. The entire production design is dazzling.

Summary: Visually superb, brilliant fantasy
Review: This film is highly underrated. It certainly isn't for everyone, but for someone who can suspend their disbelief a little more than others, someone who can appreciate the ability of fantasy to make very profound points about reality, someone who likes whimsy, wit, and style, should definitely see this film. The writing is excellent, the acting is wonderful (remember, compelling is far more important than believable in fantasy), the set design is beyond words. If you don't "get" fantasy, then this movie will be stupid, boring, and a waste of time. But, I tell you, "Toys" is none of those to me. I love it to little little bits.

Summary: "We're making fun of people with small heads."
Review: This movie is fabulous. A great piece of surrealism for those who haven't forgotten how to truly laugh. I think it gets many bad reviews from people who don't "get it." Fortunately, I "got" the movie and find it one of the few I can watch again and again. The sets, concepts (Leslie's smoking jacket!), surrealism, soundtrack, and acting were all incredible. I only wish I had seen it in the theaters. When's it going to be on DVD? VHS tape wears out- this is one movie I'd hate to see disappear. They put Deep Impact on DVD, but not this?

Summary: Dont know what to say
Review: At first when i saw it i thought it was a kids movie(especially the opening scene) but later i found out it wasnt. It really would be a good moveie for kids if it wouldnt have a bedroom scene. Some nice black humor.
