Summary: The funniest movie of all time!
Review: no bull, this is if not the funniest movie ofall time, the best movie of all time! If you you are offended easily, sure you will hate it, but hey, i hate you, so we are even! It is extremely original concept filled with great gags! The farrelly brothers out did them self, though i am upset at the lack of NE refernces in the film :) I bet most of the poeple who gave this film a one pretended to like there something about mary, because everyone else did. in my opinion this out does TSAM and Dumb and Dumber!

Summary: This is a VERY funny movie
Review: Forget the review below this one--this is a great movie. I first rented it on VHS and laughed my *** off. When I finally broke down and bought a DVD player, I decided to buy the DVD version. I was NOT disappointed. The extra scenes are great, and I would recommend this movie to anyone. And in response to the reviewer below me, there are few "gross-out" scenes in this one. Were we watching the same movie? Must be watching too much Adam Sandler lately or something.

Summary: offensive
Review: This movie is totally offensive. I like the Farrely Bros. But, this one is so bad it makes me want to cry not laugh. they make fun of a religion they know nothing about. I am Amish and was deeply offended by what they thought was funny. I am warning you, don't see this one.

Summary: Another hackneyed bathroom-bedroom work of schlock.
Review: The movie started at 4:00. After 1.5 hours I looked at my watch--the time was 4:15. Kingpin is another contribution from our freedom fighters of the 1960's who have successfully convinced most Americans that zooming in on a vomit, flossing food chunks onto a mirror and feigning cunnilingus is downright funny. How absolute the knaves. Bill Murray is the only thing happening in this fiasco, of little their is to see of him. Where are the clever, non-scatological writers in Hollywood? Waiting eagerly for the DVD editing device to create a better movie, I am. Also, enough of the car-riding-and-singing scenes--trite, waste of time and overdone. Two stars for superb DVD transfer. Otherwise, read a book, any book, before seeing this celebration of human juices, goo and excrement.

Summary: Shockingly Good
Review: If you haven't seen a movie that gives you belly laughs since the original Airplane or Naked Gun, chalk up the cash for this DVD. The Farrelly's have succeeded the Zuckers as kings of wild comic cinema. The humor works on all levels, a shockingly good mixture of situational comedy, sight gags, satire and one liners, but what really makes the Farrelly's films work is the fact that they create characters that the audience DOES care about no matter how gross or outrageous the events and gags around them are...this is really what the Zucker/Proft films of the 90s of have disturbingly lacked. An extra special bonus on the DVD is the Farrelly's audio commentary which really gives fascinating insight on how they approach the writing and direction of comedy. This simply left me drooling in anticipation of the There's Somthing About Mary DVD release in August...

Summary: Funny
Review: If you are a serious person. Dont come near this movie. If you like to laugh and be silly, this will give you some great belly laughs. Creative and funny. Nice job.

Summary: Extraordinarily overlooked comedy
Review: So far, this is the best of the Farrelly Brothers movies. Most of the gags work, and work well. It combines the so dumb it's funny dialogue of Dumb and Dumber (except in Kingpin it's funnier) with the gross out sight gags of "Mary" (Except there are more of them, with less gap between them). The Farrellys are easily the most talented comedic directors in film today.

Onto the DVD itself.

The deleted scenes in the DVD aren't that great and in some scenes are no more than the addition of one or two lines of dialogue. I really didn't laugh much at all while watching them. They also seemed to change it from 12 minutes to 4, but after seeing the 4 minutes, I can see why. However, the widescreen format is great and the commentary is also pretty good. If you don't have it on VHS, the DVD version is certainly better.

Why don't I give it 5 stars? I just felt that some of the gags didn't work, but it is certainly the funniest comedy of the '90's.

Summary: A good movie
Review: This movie makes laugh out loud and all the performances are good but the best ones comes from Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray.Woody made me feel sorry for him while Murray made me laugh,

Summary: Great Movie - Poor DVD translation
Review: I'm a big fan of this and the other Farley brothers movies as well. My only gripe with this DVD is the deleted scenes. It's nice to see the scenes that were deleted, but there's no way to see the movie as it was originally edited. It would have been better to put these scenes in a seperate menu rather than incorporate them into the film.

Summary: just say doh!
Review: hey, i have a ph.d. and very very highbrow tastes and listen when i heard this was on dvd i RACED over here to buy it. kingpin is one of the funniest sleaziest gawd awful gross movies i have ever seen. quaid and harrelson are a fantastic comedy match. angel is gorgeous. the pacing is perfect. the punch lines are soggy. the costumes are hokey. it's a riot. see it straight, see it stoned, but don't pass it by.
