Review: This has been my favorite movie of all time since it debuted in the theatres! I really love it! The fact that a teenager can get away with so much in the corporate world is absolutely astounding. I would definately recommend this movie to anyone, and have. There is little violence and adult content. It is a must see for anyone!

Review: Should be entertaining for most simpletons out there (most of you), but in essence just another coorporately generated formulaic Hollywood attempt to cash in on fleeting stardom (in this case of Christina Applegate). Unrealistically, the film's music and fashion predate the 1992 film by about five years; giant tacky earings, acid washed jeans, heavy-metal music, popping. Another Hollywood unrealism: Christina Applegate just out of the shower, wet and in nothing but a towel barges in on her teenage brother and his bong-head, beer guzzling high-school friends; not one of them so much as raises an eyebrow and they all seem more interested in entertaining each other with their half-witted snide comments. What? Corporate Hollywood takes a lot of other liberties to support the ultra-stupid plot of a 17-year old high-schooler fudging a resume and landing an executive position for the Summer. Maybe something to be expected in a comedy, but the film contains not one "laugh". Applegate's performance can do nothing to save an irritatingly unrealistic plotline, unbelievable premise (parent leaves kids with a 90-year old baby sitter to run off to Australia for the Summer), and unoriginal, unbelievable characters. A dull, dull moment. Maybe better if you're stoned?

Summary: Good lessons learned about real life
Review: I use this film in my college business classes. It's an excellent film to reinforce the concept that education is essential and adult responsibilities require adult committments. The tables are turned when the 17-year-old daughter must support her siblings for the summer -- and finds herself saying the things Mom says and hearing the excuses she gave to Mom just weeks ago. I use the film in the classroom to underscore the point that a good resume gets the interview and sometimes the job, but the education to back it up is required to keep the job.

Summary: ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED COMEDIES OF ALL TIME!
Review: "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" has never been given the respect it deserves. I think that is due to the obvious two reasons. First...the title. It's rather silly and it makes the movie appear to be aimed at the kiddie market which isn't really the case. Second...Christina Applegate. She's always been known as the ditzy blonde on "Married...With Children" and a lot of people haven't taken notice of what a fine actress she is.Those two reasons have probably kept many from watching this film and that's a real shame. It's a real winner of a story once you get past the corny beginning. Sue Ellen (Christina Applegate) and her younger siblings are left under the watchful eye of an elderly babysitter when their mom leaves the country for a couple of months. As the title suggests, the babysitter soon passes away. To make matters worse, the kids are left without any money and Sue Ellen has to get a job to support the family. OK...I realize that this premise probably doesn't have you in a frenzy to see it. However, it quickly evolves into a film which is both extremely humorous and touching. Sue Ellen gets a job at a uniform manufacturer and her boss, Rose, is delightfully played by Joanna Cassidy. Cassidy gives her role an amazing spark that you'll have to see to understand. Just watching her and listening to her laugh puts an instant smile on my face. Sue Ellen also develops a relationship with a young man named Bryan (Josh Charles) who works at a fast food joint. I was honestly surprised with the amount of care that was given in regards to the romantic side of the movie. You are shown two people that you truly care about and you want to see them stay madly in love. The supporting cast does a solid job as well. All of Sue Ellen's co-workers (including David Duchovny!) are very well cast. The younger actors, including Keith Coogan, also hold their own playing the siblings. It all culminates in an ending that is both inspirational and moving. If you are considering watching this movie than I would urge you to do so. It may not be anything that's gonna change the world...but it's some darn good entertainment!

Review: Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead is an okay movie; it is different and that makes it different from any other slapstick comedy.The cast isn't that big besides Applegate.The old lady in the beggining is really funny.It is full of funny moments, but the plot is to different and that is what made me give it a lower rating.The is definetly a perfect six.The children in this film are so trashy and realistic in that kind of setting and I think that's hilarious.Applegate does a great job and serves up quiet a few laughs.The pothead older brother is kind of annoying along with some other characters.One of the main promlems is that the film is so predictable.The outfits and hair cuts are fun to make fun of when there is nothing really important is going on.If you are up for a good laugh and something deifferent check it out, but don't expect to much from this little comedy. Christina Applegate, who plays Kelly Bundy in the hit TV show "Married With Children," is the star of this wacky comedy about a group of kids trying to cope with a very weird situation.While mom takes off for a trip to Australia with her boyfriend, the kids are left in the care of the elderly babysitter from hell. Then things go from bad to worse: the old lady dies, leaving them without a cent to their name. Teenager Sue Ellen, the oldest sibling, realizes that they'd better do something fast if they want to eat. Because one thing's for sure: no one wants to let mom know that the babysitter's dead... "Predictable, but not wholly unlikable."
