Summary: Uh...
Review: Eh, I don't get it. I think you have to be white or something to get this. This plotless thing just goes on and on and on and on.

Summary: Some good jokes but too long !
Review: This movie is a simple story with funny individuals. No real antagonism. It's an easy plot where there is no conflict, where everybody is kind and life is beautiful. Some of the dialogues are quite funny but in my opinion you need more to make a good comedy. The end is too long because there is nothing interesting happening. It's finally as if you see the same joke during the whole movie. Some characters are really too flat.Fortunately i see this movie for free.

Review: ...Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you ought to know beforehand.

Summary: My big fat current favorite
Review: Word of mouth carried this nifty big fat movie right up the popularity scales. Women rolling their eyes and swearing 'You've GOT to see it!' guaranteed a long run. Toula, so beautifully played by Nia Vardalos, seems destined to homely spinsterhood when she hits 30 - but she's far from resigned. It's her Old World papa who's the major road block. Mama, Toula, and auntie conspire to circumvent his strictures, and Toula goes to school - with a new hairdo, some new clothes, and too much makeup.
And falls in love with a WASP. And he falls for her. And of course they eventually get married, hence the title of the flick. But the process is the product, in this case, and the slow process of winning over her deeply ethnic family is the delight of this wonderful, hilarious, and ultimately compassionate film.

Summary: Funny view on Greek marriages
Review: After reading and hearing a lot about this movie I decided I had to see it. This movie is about an unmarried Greek lady named Toula who works in her parents' restaurant and doesn't want to get married. Her parents are traditional Greeks and want her to marry a Greek man. Greek woman are supposed to get married, have lots of babies, and feed all those babies.

This movie is hilarious and makes fun of the Greek customs and culture when it comes to movies. Anybody can find some relation to their own customs, because we all seem to have loud relatives and weird families.

I enjoyed watching this movie but I thought that it didn't live up to all the hype. It was also a little too sensual for its PG rating so I'm not sure you want to let the young ones see it. However, it was witty and hilarious, and I really enjoyed the unique characters. I laughed more in this movie than in other "supposedly" funny movies.

Summary: What A little Makeup Can Do
Review: How did they make Nia so unattractive at the beginning of this film? It is amazing what putting on a little makeup and fashionable clothes can do for a person! The story is not far fetched at all. If anybody has ever dated a person from another culture, you will get a kick out of this film. I dated a Russian and a Chilean before (not at the same time) and was thrust into some very similar funny situations. I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything. This film is charming in showcasing "culture shocks"....

Summary: Great Entertainment
Review: What a great job of acting by Michael Constantine and Lane Kazan! They were just outstanding and made the viewing what it was.

The plot is truly American, and maybe points out some of the problems we're now having. Greek people trying desparately to remain Greek in America's melting pot.

Over time this is beauty of our country and this film. That Greek girl can fall in love and be loved so wonderfully by non-Greek. The dangers of multi-culturalism lurk and threaten to destroy this great thing we call the United States of America.

Didn't want it to stop!

Summary: Great Movie
Review: I am just going to keep this short. If you like romantic comedies with a twist you will love this movie. It sucks you up into the Greek culture and it feels like you are actually in the family. It's absolutely hysterical, sweet and wonderful.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Somewhat cute...but irritating
Review: I'm a non-Greek living in Greece. Some of the things in the film that were supposed to be funny...AREN'T when you have to listen to them on an almost daily basis. For example, many Greeks really do believe that their language pre-dates all other languages. It may seem like nothing more than the rantings of an eccentric old man who also believes that Windex is a cure-all. However, this sort of pseudo-scholarship is very common over here, and not at all charming in reality. Maybe a Greek could find it humorous to poke fun at that, but anyone who has been invited to someone's home only to hear a lecture on how their language is "poor" compared to Greek...won't find it very amusing.

Summary: Real Pretty Ya Ya Women Have 3 Big Fat Weddings
Review: Shhhh. Listen...Hear that?! It's the sound of air escaping from the heads of those who rate these kind of assembly-line Hollywood wish fulfillment fantasies as "5-star" films.
