Summary: I would like to see a dvd version released
Review: Let me start by saying that i absolutley love these films. They are some of my all time favorite comedies and definitely my favorite movies from Chevy Chase. Clark Griswold, in my opinion, will be the role he will always be known for. My favorite parts of this film would have to be the bike rider, played by Monty Python's Eric Idle, who continues to keep running into the Griswold family and gets injured every time he does. Another funny scene is after Clark and the family get ran off from the German festival and lose their luggage and car. They catch a train and the whole family starts doing things to annoy each other. The scene between Clark and Rusty is what makes me laugh the most. But overall, the film is very funny. My favorite of all the films is of course the original, then christmas, then this one, and then vegas. My big question is why hasn't a dvd version been released yet? This is the only one that has not made it to the format. I already own the original movie on dvd, but i would love to own them all. I think a nice box set of all four films would be a good idea. If i'm not mistaken, i believe this was done for vhs. So for now, i'll be patient and see if this happens.

Summary: Enjoyed it
Review: Being from the United States and having lived in Europe for more than ten years, European Vacation is one of the best spoofs of a typicaly American package vacation that we've seen. The stereotypical representations of Europeans and Americans and the highlighting of the cultural differences makes the movie particularly good.

Summary: "I Can't Get Left!!......."
Review: After the hilarious classic that was the original "Vacation", this film was a complete and utter disappointment. Not to say that it didn't have it's moments. It does. Just not as many or as memorable as anything from the original, or even the hysterical "Christmas Vacation". Once again, Chevy Chase and family hop on a plane after they win a trip to England after appearing on a game show hosted by the always great John Astin. Once there, hijinks ensue. I'm talking about Mrs. Griswald being kidnapped. That sets up the climax of the film. I think jumping on a plane and just getting to your destination is what ruins this film and "Vegas Vacation". A trip there, like in the first, is more entertaining and more open to comedic bits. The kids, Rusty and Audrey, are the worst ones in the series. Has anyone noticed that their ages don't change?. They also go up and down in height and weight and hair stylings. In reality, Rusty and Audrey would be 0ver 30. But, amazingly, in every movie they're still 14 years old. If there's a 5th film, maybe Chevy can take his grandchildren on a vacation?. Speaking of Chevy, he is just fine in this. He's funny. The movie, as a whole, is definitley not. Watch out for a hysterical Eric Idle in a small role. Could of been so much better.

Summary: ADEQUATE SEQUEL
Review: Not quite as enjoyable as National Lampoons Vacation, but is an adequate comedy never the less. Chevy Chase and Beverley D' Angelo head the cast in this almost American style Carry On film. The film is based on a story by John hughes (famous for Home Alone) who also assited in writing the politically incorrect scripts. Performances generally are merley characteurs especially the English players in this film that are pressed into sterotypes. Despite all the cliches and shortcomings in the rather thin structure to the plot, the film still makes for some enertaining viewing with Chevy Chase obviously rising above the near banal scripts. A fun, passable comedy and lovers of this American comedy film series will undoubtedly be satisfied. recommended.

Summary: HILARIOUS AND GREAT! FUNNY, NAUGHTY, STUPID!!!
Review: Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo are back and are ready to go to Europe after winning a FREE vacation from "Pig in a Poke". Although this hilarious, naughty humor-filled comedy is NOT as good as "National Lampoon's Vacation" or "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation", -it is pretty funny! My favorite parts are when the Griswalds (Clark, Ellen, Rusty and Audrey) go to Paris, and when they are in Germany. 100% HILARIOUS!!!! This movie should be rated R though!!! ...

Summary: the Griswolds go Euro!
Review: Clark and Ellen (Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo) drag Audrey and Rusty to Europe in this second entry in the cult series!

After winning big on the "Pig In A Poke" show, the family embarks on a fun-filled, sexy and somewhat dangerous journey of GONE WITH THE WIND proportions.

Dana Hill, in my opinion, was the best Audrey, and she plays the role with a delightfully goofy charm. Her Audrey is one of the many delights to be savoured in this comedy, and there are many, many more, believe me!

Summary: Not nearly as smart or funny as the first one!
Review: When one compares the first vacation movie with the National Lampoon's European Vacation VHS~ Chevy Chase one comes to the following conclusion; the jokes are more family oriented, the jokes are aimed more towards the lowest common demo nominator and the sex jokes are suddenly in. The first movie was awesome for its offensive humor, i.e., getting your son drunk on a beer, having a dead body on top of the car or dragging the dog to death. There is one memorable scene though, e.g., when the Griswold's see Big Ben and Parliament. Other then that, it seems as if the movie wants to play it way to safe with lame sex jokes; rather then risk offending someone as in the first vacation movie. This is a pity, since this is what made the first movie so outrageous.

Summary: God I miss Jack...
Review: Unlike most fans of the National Lampoon's Vacation series, this is my absolute favorite. My sister and I constantly quote this movie and still laugh every time we do. I think the jokes in European Vacation are a little more sophisticated (if you can call them that) and harder to catch at times, but this one is definitely worth seeing. Something in this movie will no doubt remind you of someone you know. "Look Dad, bedpans!"

Summary: Chevy Chase is on another Vacation-UH-OH
Review: The griswolds are on another fun old fashioned vacations to Europe. I gave this movie 3 stars because it wasn't as funnie as Christmas Vacation(the funniest of them all)but not as bad as Vegas Vacation. There were a few funny parts like when chevy chase is looking for realitives in house nuber 6. He can't find it, so he goes and asks a neighbor, but thinks six is sex in Europe. He knocks and asks to a man "Hi, i'm looking for sex." The man replies"pirvirt and slams the door in his face". This movie is great, but no one under 9 or 10 should see it.

Review: Dir Amy Heckerling,Starring,Chevy Chase, Jason Lively,Dana Hill and Eric Idle,Robbie Coltrane,Mel Smith.(1985)The Griswolds head for Europe.Memorable cameo appearances by Eric Idle of 'Monty Python' ,Robbie Coltrane of 'Cracker', British Drama Series.(Chase) gives a great performance,as well as his son Rusty (Lively) But to be honest (Hill)did not work for me as the gluttenous Audrey. On the other hand it's great for laugh or two , and perfect for the family.
