Summary: Zzzzzz....!
Review: Somebody pass me a blanket. This movie bit the dust. Someone had the audacity to call this movie, "charming," and "light-hearted". Puh-leeze. I was sooo disappointed when I rented this from BB, that I walked it over the same night and returned it. J.Lo disappoints in this one-majorly. She gets by on her looks and "talent." Will someone call a real actress to do a movie and tell JLo to stop making these airhead flicks? Nighty-night.

Summary: Sweet romantic comedy
Review: My roommate and I are currently going through a sappy romance phase. We pulled this off the shelf at the video store, and wanted to watch 3 times in a row! This movie excels at exactly what it is... a light-hearted romantic comedy. The characters are likable and realitically portrayed. Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey have great chemistry (and he is going down in our book of absolutely adorable men!). I believe the pacing of this film was good, coming at a predictable plot from a unique perspective with several interesting new characters. Rent this movie if you are a romantic or if you just want a sweet film that will make you laugh. If you need something deeper, maybe this film isn't for you. But after you depressed yourself with that (and I say this with the utmost good humor), THEN rent this film.

Summary: Charming
Review: I usually don't go for romantic flicks, but even so few were as enchanting as this one. It was a little predictable (but all romance movies mostly are) and some of the cute comedy was a bit flat - again, nothing I didn't expect. Matthew McCaughnehy (I know I'm spelling his name wrong) is always really good, in all his films, and he was endearing as the cute and responsible doctor opposite Jenniefer Lopez. Oddly enough, I expected to find her a bit irritating in this movie (even though I liked her other work) and was thankfully mistaken. She's really good, adding a lot of spark to this picture-perfect movie. The two main characters also have lots of chemistry, something that's sadly lacking lately. Scene stealers include the bumbling yet sweet Italian misfit Massimo, played by Justin Chambers, who is perfect. His character is almost ridiculous when first introduced, but provides endless humor. Chambers' bewildered grin and odd mannerisms redeen his otherwise annoying, yet cute, character. Also look out for Lopez' father in the film, whos name eludes me, he's very good too. Everyone is!
Great dialogue, script, and acting. Much better than expected. Right up there with other romantic comedy favorites of mine, 'Sliding Doors' and 'Notting Hill', if a little silly. Worth checking out, definitely.

Summary: Reverse counter cultural
Review: Reading some of the other reviews for this film, I'm struck by the absurdity of the crtiticisms. "Everyone's too nice...nobody wants to hurt anyone else's feelings." A predictable formula plot where the heroine actually ends up with the hero. What's wrong with that?! Yes, it's been done before, and it'll be done again. That's why romantic comedies are so endearing. It's also why so many of them from half a century ago are still viewed as classic films. Predictable? So is every plot development in Gone With The Wind, yet it is considered widely as the greatest film ever released. I sense a mindset that craves something different for its own sake, some real hatred and destructiveness into which we can sink our teeth. A lot of the comments I have read seem more reflective of the downward spiral of our current culture than they do a fair assessment of the merits of this film.

Most incongruous of all is Jennifer Lopez in the title role. What a wonderful job she does in this! Appearing in almost every scene, she never exhausts her supply of facial expressions. She's a better actress than most of us realize. This film seems like quite a departure for her. I hope that she continues the trend!

Buy this video! It is a wonderful film. Most others produced today are trash by comparison. That this one's story is in any way characterized as passe' is more a comment on the deterioration of our society than an accurate representation of the film's quality. Few movies today are better.

Summary: I LOVED this movie!!
Review: I absolutely LOVED this movie. J.LO was funny, I thought, Matthew McConaughey was so sweet and so romantic in this movie. I can't wait to buy it!! Those who hated it wouldn't know a good thing if it slapped you in the face. I think everybody wants to be swept off their feet like in the movies. This is by far, one of my favorite movies!!

Review: This movie is kind of funny, okay, very funny. But it's dumb too. I really can't decide.

Summary: Better use the DVD as a coaster
Review: This movie was garbage. Placing a well-mixed martini atop the DVD on your coffee table will provide far more entertainment than this movie, even if you are spending your evening completely alone. I'd like to say the script was terrible, but, to be honest, I don't think there was a script. Lopez and McConaughey, two people with at least some talent, never had a chance in this film. If I had to allow this movie one saving grace it would have to be Justin Chambers as the puppy-lovesick Mossimo, but even he was sadly underserved by this sadly underwritten script.

Summary: Crazy about the Wedding Planner
Review: I loved this movie! Timless and classic, this movie is the best chick flick ever! I can't get enough of Lopez's style, and Matthew M. is a winner as well. The ending was no surprise, but it still made me cry. Great for a girl's night in!

Summary: How Hollywoodish!
Review: An easy to watch - no concentration needed movie that will allow you to pass time. Things would have been acceptably okay had it not been for the cheesy - predictable ending. I personally think it would have made a slight impact to the audience if Mary married Massimo & not Steve. There, just saving you your money in case you haven't seen it yet.

Summary: Good For a Romance
Review: .... It seemed simply typical: Two people are set to be married, the star of the movie falls in love with one of them, the engaged person falls in love with the star, the engaged person leaves their significant other for the star, and they live happily ever after. For this reason, I avoided seeing the movie for some time. I now regret not seeing it in the theater with my girlfriend. The movie provided the viewer with enough twists and turns to keep them interested and Jennifer Lopez worked magic in making you fall in love with her. It made for a great date movie and one worth seeing even if you weren`t on a date.
This wasn`t a thought-provoking Drama or a action-packed Thriller, but if you are in the mood for a romantic film without the need of alot of thought, it is definitely worth watching. In the Romance genre, it followed in the footsteps of Pretty Woman in making you feel good, which should be the goal of any Romance. It was an unexpected delight and I recommend seeing it.
