Summary: Nothing left to wish for
Review: Austin dancing through the streets as if it were the most normal thing in the world, the 'shh' sequence, the raised eyebrow (Austin 'danger' Powers), Dr. Evil's evil plans - I could (and will, later) go on. The crowning glory of this masterpiece that had staid little English me crying and screaming in the theater: "Turn on the unnecessarily slow-moving platform!" Please, see this. If you don't laugh, I'll kill you.

Summary: So stupid its actually good!
Review: I never wanted to see this movie but somehow I got dragged to a 24 screen multiplex and sat down with a whole bunch of screaming teens. I thought that Myers and his plot were rather crude but once I got into it, I was actaully laughing throughout the whole thing. Later on I also found out exactly how much cult following this movie was getting. I find myself saying "Yeah Baby!" more often than I say hello. Something about Mike Myers and his two characters in this film have me hooked. Could it be that his crudeness is actually charming? I don't know what it is but I'll be going back to that same theater this coming summer to catch the sequel.

Summary: SHAGADELIC!
Review: Well I won't lie to you, reviews aren't my bag baby...but I'll give it a whirl. Very rarely does a movie come around that is so immensely joyful not to mention quotable. AP is one of those rare surprises in the movie-going experience; A truly hilarious yet loving satire on an already self-parodying genre. That it is intelligent about its subject is also no surprise. Mike Myers has consistently proven that he can take a cliched genre and put his fresh and often twisted spin on it (do yourself a favor and also check out his version of a romantic comedy-So I Married An Axe Murderer ..vastly underrated and (SURPRISE SURPRISE!) also very quotable). The DVD is the best presentation of the film, period. I can attest to this fact as I have seen it in the theatre and on Laserdisc. The DVD format's ability to handle colors/blacks and chroma noise ideally present this movie as a treat for the eyes. You WILL be awestruck by the color fidelity in the opening title sequence, guaranteed.

Summary: the humor is a fungus and will grow on your brain
Review: The first time I saw this film, I chuckled throughout, laughed loud a few times, and left disappointed. The second time I saw it, everything was somehow much funnier. By the nth time, I came to realize that one could make an argument for every single moment in this film as being the culmination of humor in the Western world. I exaggerate, but it is a proven fact that the film grows funnier with each successive viewing - and I have not yet found the limit.

Summary: GREAT
Review: I have never ever seen a funnier movie in my life! It is a parody of James Bond from the beginning til the end. I can only recommend it!

Summary: A Study in Fine Film
Review: Austin Powers is a modern-day masterpiece, a throwback to the classics, but even more than that, it is a handbook for mankind. Never before in film history has a story touched the lives of so many, and gave them a mirror in which to find themselves, nay, to find humanity within an artform.

Myers establishes himself as the most compelling actor witnessed since perhaps sir Lawrence Olivier. However, experts agree that even in his prime, Olivier would have struggled with the dual-roles of Powers and his nemesis, Dr. Evil. Myers attacks both roles with an intensity never before seen.

During the first scene when we witness Powers struggling with conflicting emotions of joy and anxiety while confronting his rather large British fan base, we can understand his anguish at not being understood for what he really is, rather his very being is filtered through the blind eye of his own publicity and reputation. Throughout the rest of this magnificent film, we can relate to Power's everyman trials including the dehumanizing effects of cryogenic freezing, his tumultuous affair with a beautiful and brilliant secret agent, and his struggle to save us all from a criminally insane antagonist bent on world conquest.

We feel hatred toward this menacing Dr. Evil during the film, but at the same time are drawn to him when Myers strains every muscle of his talent during the group therapy scene.

Joining Myers is an unprecidented cast of certain future Oscar winners who combine to complete the astonishing cinematic experience. One can only suppose what additional greatness Austin Powers would have achieved had the scenes including Rob Lowe not been cut.

Overall, Austin Powers will eventually be recognized as the greatest achievement in film of this century, unrivaled by even the most heralded masterpiece. Perhaps the film will even be seen for what it really is ... the greatest achievement in the history of mankind.

Summary: A hilarious movie by the commicly brilliant Mike Myers.
Review: This movie is definitely one of the best movies the hilariously funny actor Mike Myers has ever made. If anyone knows comedy it is Mike Myers. This movie is a must see if you haven't seen it. I give this movie two thumbs up. So watch Austin Powers the "International Man of Mystery as he battles Dr. Evil (also Mike Myers) in a quest to save the world! END

Summary: An excellent movie, that's clear, fun and a bunch of laughs
Review: This movie is great! An excellent acheivement, It's hilarious, funny, and uses a lot of scenes that have set precedents in the world of comedy. I think this movie is just hilarious using a lot of play on words, and a lot of tiny but phony jokes tied in with hilarious props and phrases. The plot of the movie is interesting, and the characters are funny, and very real. The menu uses an interesting song function, as with alternate endings to the movie, an eye-catching chapter list, and a lot of fun stuff, including a commentary with mike myers and the director. My favorite scene is the group therapy, Dr. Evil (played by mike Myers) tells of his life. I laugh thinking about it everyday. I own a lot of DVD movies, and I think this is the funniest, and best one I own. "Yeah, Baby!" END

Summary: The Funniest Movie I've Seen In a While
Review: If you have half a pulse, you'll find SOMETHING funny in this movie. I found the whole thing funny! I found the refrences to the Bond Movies great, i.e. Oddjob = Random Task. END

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: James Bond meets Blazing Saddles...very funny!
Review: Very funny spoof of the spy film genre of the sixties. Mike Myers has written a gem in the style of Mel Brooks. Certainly as funny as Blazing Saddles, and one of the funniest movies made in the past few years. Okay for most kids, but be prepared to deal with the one-liners that will be repeated in your home for months to come.

If you like spoofs you will want to add this to your collection. END
