Summary: Loved it!
Review: Sure, the idea of someone spending the first 35 years of their life underground is a bit freaky to say the least, but there is a message much deeper than comedy here: America wants its values back, though it can't have them. Brendan Fraser does as good a job as can be done with this role, and there is a lot to like here. Romantic, funny, and Silverstone shines through her cynical character. Maybe rent it first, but I say buy!

Summary: Crazy Comedy
Review: Blast from the Past is a good comedy that the whole family can enjoy. It's true that Alicia Silverstone is lacking in the acting dept., but Brendan Fraser's talent more than makes up for it. The dance club skit was absolutely classic.

Summary: Blast From the Past
Review: I loved this movie. Having grown up through the years this movie spans I really got a good laugh at the fun poked at those years. It was so accurate! As a mother, I loved seeing the fantasy of what we could teach our children and how close we could be to them if we didn't have to deal with outside influences (espcially of the 90's!). Adam and his family are so 50's! The character of Adam, played by Bendan Fraser, is self posessed, confident and secure. He lives by the rules and limits he was taught by his parents and he uses them to successfully navigate through a world he's never set foot on before. He's able to enjoy the world and be in awe of the things we take for granted. He's a sane person in an insane world. He has talent, compassion, curiosity. Christopher Walken, who usually scares me, won my heart. His character is full of childlike wonder. He is driven by moral and family responsibility and he characatures a science nerd perfectly. His performance is really funny. Sissy Spacek's comic side is also wonderful. The subtle humor of her role is like a precision time-piece.

There is a lot going on this this movie. You really have to pay attention to every detail. Blast From the Past is a delightful time capsule of the last 40 years and fantasy about how nice things would be if....

Summary: *Sob. . .* How Sweet. . .
Review: Most movies of this genre are not supposed to be taken really seriously. They are there to make you realize that your loved one is really special. They are also there to make you realize what we have taken for-granted. Brendan Fraser's innocence to real life in this movie will make you think twice when you pass by the awe-inspiring ocean or look up into the marshmallow-filled azure sky. So don't gripe when a movie doesn't have too much chemistry between characters! YOU do the character developing in life--just use these movies as a reference! By the way, the whole swing-dancing scene is just totally awesome (even though I'm sure it's not Fraser that's really dancing). This movie gives you reason to cuddle up with your girlfriend (or boyfriend or husband or wife. . .). Fraser is just too cute!

Summary: Good Premise, But...
Review: Interesting concept, solid performances from Walken and Spacek, and a very funny cameo character in the form of a malt shop/bar owner turned mystic. But that's it. The main character's return to the service never delivers on the comedy and the complications one anticipates. And he and Silverstone never really click. Light, entertaining, will not offend, but doesn't live up to its potential. In addition, the first half-hour is somewhat adult, pleasantly so, while the rest of the film is somewhat juvenile, irritatingly so.

Summary: Funny, clever and cute...
Review: How'd YOU like to step into present day life after living in a bomb shelter with your parents for thirty years? A cool and funny little flick, clever writing for a change, and a great cast in wacky Brendan Fraser, kooky Christopher Walken and funny Sissy Spacek. Fun for everyone! All you swingin' cats and chicks will dig the night club dance sequence. Happy to report that Alicia-duh-Silverstone was NOT asked to dance.

Summary: Funny and Interesting
Review: Blast from the Past is a great comedy for the whole family. It is suitable for almost all audiences except a few areas of adult language and content. However, nothing in this DVD is truly offensive if you don't take it too literally.

Summary: FUN ~ FUN ~ and MORE FUN!
Review: Really enjoyable. The entire cast, right down to the kooky bar bum who lives atop the family's shelter, is funny and genuine. And who knew Sissy Spacek could be so funny? Fraser captures our hearts as Adam, a true gentleman whom every woman would love to call her "sweetheart" and Silverstone is precious as the wide-eyed yet tough hearted Eve. Together they create the sparks that make BLAST the kind of movie you will enjoy more than once.

Summary: A very cute movie!
Review: I didn't see this film in the theatre, because the preview looked cheesy. But when my friend rented the video, I enjoyed every second of it. This is a completely refreshing cute movie. Brendan's performance is just adorable. After watching the video, I told myself, I have to get the DVD.

Summary: This is a movie that Blast it's way to the Past
Review: This is one of the worst movie I have seen. Not only is it's story line bad but so are the actors. Brendon Fraiser and Alicia Silverstone play ADAM & EVE ( lol ) and The plot stinks. Its terible!
