Summary: Well thought out, quirky little movie!
Review: I love this movie! It has lots of fun little lines.. "Can he *skate* around your *block*?" I love it! Very fun, and that dance sequence was so cute! I looked at my boyfriend, and said 'We're going to learn to do that'. Dave Foley was great, and this is an inprovement for Alicia Silverstone acting-wise (not a huge one, but an improvement none the less).

Summary: very sweet
Review: purchased a dvd player awaiting "the mummy" & found "blast from the past" as a good example of what a dvd can do. this came in both widescreen and letterbox version. the movie itself was just swell--one can enjoy this movie with the whole family. brendan fraser is a joy to watch on the big or small screen. have always been a fan of both sissy spacek and christopher walken. if you can not purchase this -- at least go rent it. someday when bj is accepting an academy award -- we will remember him in these kinda parts he does so well. sit back and enjoy.

Summary: Absolutely hysterical
Review: I've seen this at least 6 or 7 times now and find something new to laugh about everytime I see it. Suitable for all ages. I am waiting for it to come out on consumer, rather than rental, price video to buy for several friends without DVD players and for our video library at the pediatric floor in our hospital. Destined to become a comedy cult classic like UHF.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great Support Acting!
Review: Christopher Walken and Sissy's character's were unique and hilarious! I also got a kick out of Archbishop's part...he did a great job portraying the "fried-out-brain-loser" finding religion.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A sleeper. A hoot.
Review: Rented this at the video store not knowing anything about it beyond the jacket blurb. Glad I did! This is a sleeper, a hoot, a genuinely cutely funny entertainment. The entire cast including the bit players seem actually to enjoy themselves sending up the 1950's AND the nineties. Good quality soundtrack too. Well worth the time. And how nice to see a movie that ENTERTAINS without gore, raw violence, loud special effects, gratuitous sex, etc. Hey, Hollywood, it still can be done! Tom in Ocean City, MD

Summary: A Surprisingly Funny Movie!
Review: I have never laughed so hard at a "PG-13" movie! I passed this one over due to the fact that it had Alicia and Brandon in the movie (combine that with the rating and that usually spells Junior High Humor). But I was swayed when I learned that Christopher Walkin played the father. I was pleasantly surprised by the storyline, and everyones performance (I am actually beginning to like Mr. Fraiser now).

Summary: WATCH THIS, WHATEVER YOU DO.
Review: This movie is absolutely precious. Alicia Silverstone,Dave Foley, Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek are just great. Brendan Fraser? Well, he can do no wrong in my book, but the way he captures all the nuances of his character is amazing. You will not regret watching this.

Summary: Great movie!
Review: I really liked this movie espescially because of Brendan Fraser's performance. It is sweet and his naivte is charming. The biggest disappointment of this movie was Alicia Silverstone. This had to be her worst performance and I just really didn't like the character. I thought that Eve didn't deserve Adam. But I loved the film anyway.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Funny, Sexy and Sweet
Review: Adam is a human time capsule. Raise him in an isolated 60's world (35 years in a fall out shelter) then send him out into the cynical 90s and you have an interesting culture clash. The sweet innocence with which Adam views the world is wonderfully contrasted by Alicia Silverstones cynical 90s woman, and both are balanced with Dave Foley's terrific Jiminy Cricket imitation with a twist. Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek are a hoot with their roles as Adam's parents! The very best parts of the entire film are the moments of discovery, beginning with the first time 35 year old Adam sees the sky, this beautiful blue and white covering we all take for granted. The simple excitement and delight is infectious. Leaving the theatre, I looked up at the sky with new appreciation. This same delight is found whenever he encounters a new experience, from seeing a child, to seeing the ocean.

With all this there is the overwhelming assurance that we are watching an actor who is still growing and turning in better and better performances each time he steps before a camera. I hope he has a cabinet already for the little golden statues he will be collecting over the coming years!

WELL worth the time to watch (over and over)

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Smart, funny dramatic comedy that will keep your attention
Review: This creative story will keep your attention as it makes you laugh. Brenden Fraser does a good job playing an innocent, well-mannered 35 year old that knows nothing about the 90s. Alicia Silvierstone is beautiful as ever as a confused, honest unexpected friend. The creativity of the plot and the humor of comparing the 60s and the 90s will keep you smiling and make you forget the predictable ending. This one is definitely worth the rent!
