Review: Many critics panned this film in its release. I felt that though it didn't have as much laughs as the Zucker Brothers & Jim Abrahams movies, it still had me stitches at the right places! Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) was great and so was Whoopi & Cuba. If you want to have a good laugh, consider watching this.

Review: This movie was so much fun to watch. You will find yourself laughing out through the whole movie, it really is that hallarious!!! It will leave you with a smile on your face, and you wont be able to get it out of your mind. All and all if your looking for a movie that will lift your spirits and make you laugh, this is the perfect movie for you.

Summary: Some funny moments, some lame jokes, one thumb up overall
Review: The editorial pretty much sums it up...some moments are pretty darned funny and some are just dumbed down antics that might not even make a 5-year-old laugh. For the story, just read the editorial, I'll point out the good and the bad.Personally I'd prefer it if the movie stuck to a particular style, either slapstick & screwball, or witty & smug, instead of switching back and forth. Some people might dig that, but I tend to like my comedy styles separate, like peas and mashed potatoes. Also, the cast was a mixed bag of great and not-so-great choices. I think Atkinson cracked me up the most and I'm not even a huge fan of his. Cleese, as always, does a wonderful job, and for the record, some of the side-scenes, involving a bunch of high-rollers betting on just about anything they can, were great. Vince Vieluf and Seth Green are pretty funny as two assenine brothers, (kind of like Scott Caan and Casey Affleck in Ocean's Eleven, with just a tad less redneck), and Goldberg and Lovitz are both somewhat amusing in their roles. Everyone else does their best, but some of the scenes are just not intelligent enough to split my side, if you know what I mean. Bottom line,...this was entertaining, but not chock full of laugh-out-loud moments. A few too many jokes were just too obvious in how they were set-up, but hey, that formula works for some folks.

Summary: pleasantly surprised
Review: I went to watch this movie not expecting much at all. Afterwards I was very impressed. This is a great movie if you want a funny, light hearted comedy that never takes itself to seriously. I laughed at many scenes thru out this movie (my favorite is Jon Lovitz in Hitlers car) and the cast they assembled work great together. Some great scenes and laughter for sure. Make this a must rent on your movie list this weekend.

Review: I have put off quite some time to watch this movie, but was quite interested since Mr. Beans appears as a comedian here. I was not impressed at all, I did not find a laughable part at all; only when the guy with the wife & the kids steals the "Hitler" car and jumps on the stage and talks non-sense stuff.
The movie's plot is quite senseless.
They are in a casino, they get a gold coin from the slot machine and are sent to a locker in New Mexico with 2 million dollars.
The characters were great, the selection was alright, but not their acting, script or role.
I was quite dissapointed. It felt like a drag the whole way through.

Summary: Okay, OKAY, OKAY!!!!!
Review: Anticipated bathroom humor notwithstanding, and with a bit of an annoyingly "preachy" ending, "Rat Race" was much, MUCH funnier than I ever expected. While recognizing no depth of plot whatsoever, some of the sight gags had me laughing -- belly laughing -- out loud to the point of pain. My favorites? The squirrel lady, a bus-full of Lucille Ball impersonators -- and an hysterically funny flying cow -- complete with hot-air ballon! Not for the easily offended -- but, as such things go, fairly tame, even in the "raunch" respect. Certainly not "Oscar" material -- but, as previously stated, much funnier than expected. It's worth a couple of bucks and a couple of hours at Blockbuster.

Summary: Another take of It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World (1963)
Review: Terrible name for a film. Yet another take on the film IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD (1963). Just a different story and different wacky actors. You know the original story. A few lucky people travel hundreds of miles just to get to a fortune. Who ever reaches the money first...well you know. Also done as SCAVENGER HUNT (1979) and MILLION DOLLAR MYSTERY (1987). Best part of film is Jon Lovitz and cameo appearances of real-life attorney Gloria Allred. I wonder if this is where they got the idea for the Amazing Race tv series? In Special Features, "Jerry & Andy Call The Actors", when they call impromptu Jon Lovitz. It is so funny. Paul Rodriguez is a delight!

Summary: It¿s not often I actually laugh out loud at a movie.
Review: I was desperate for something to watch over the holiday weekend and pickings were mighty slim and then I stumbled across Rat Race. Producer/Director Jerry Zucker, the guy that brought us classic comidies like Aiplane, Top Secret, and The Naked Gun, remake of the classic film It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. The set up is simple enough John Cleese plays a wealthy Las Vegas Hotel owner who offers six down on their luck hotel guests a chance to take part in the opportunity of a lifetime. They all have the chance to win two million dollars hidden in a bus terminal hundreds of miles away in New Mexico all they have to do is be the first contestant there to claim the prize. Rat Race isn't original, it isn't even believable but it keeps coming up with fun and outrageous situations and consequences for the characters involved. Zucker proved along time ago that if you have a non stop barrage of jokes, one-liners and sight gags something will eventually make you laugh. And I did laugh too. All of the characters are desperate, cynical and very quirky and they all manage to somehow get involved in some of the most bizarre situations imaginable. John Lovitz is hilarious as he and his family decide to make a brief stop at the Barbie museum, the Klaus Barbie museum. While learning about Barbie's ballroom dancing achievements their mini-van is sabotaged by their race competitors the Cody brothers, Blaine and Duane. The desperate family does the only reasonable thing, they steal Hitler's personal car from the museum. I loved Whoopie Goldberg's encounter with roadside squirrel merchant Kathy Bates. Cuba Gooding Jr. Shows he can do comedy when he hijacks a bus full of Lucille ball impersonators on their way to a convention. Rowan Atkinson as a narcoleptic Italian immigrant is priceless The only complaint I had was the ending which just didn't fit the synical and sensless feel of the rest of the movie. The last fifteen minutes had all the appearances of a last minute re-shoot. The same people who drugged their children, played catch with transplant organs, stole cars, busses and hot air balloons all come together at the end for a world wide group hug. The ending presented should have felt satisfying but it didn't. All in all I loved the movie but when I next watch it I will shut it off before the final scene.

Summary: Awesome fun!
Review: This is a great comedy. I feel it falls along the lines of Shrek with plenty of humor for kids and adults alike. They keep most of the "crude" stuff directly out of sight and sound and instead imply it in those situations. I would recommend this for anyone that wants a ton of laughs at goofy situations! Plenty of great actors with completely different storylines leading up to the end goal make this well worth the $ for any DVD collection!
